The Last Jedi

Hera's POV

I woke up to have Ben still by me. He was facing me, holding my hand. He looks so peaceful. I touched his chin, placing a soft kiss.

"Watching me sleep?" He yawns. I chuckled.

"I just wanted to catch the moment while it lasted." The small window showed the stars and planets. Just so beautiful. I grabbed his hands, intertwine with mine. "Were you mad at me, when i left?" I asked him. He frowned.

"I can never stay mad at you. I felt like I was broken. My other self was gone." He looks at me, rubbing my cheek. "A part of me left when you took off."

"Its funny, how I always seem to be back, with you. As if-"

"The force between us knows. As if-"

"We're meant to be." I gave him a small smile. We laid in bed for a good hour, just being in each others arms. Then he got out of bed, took a shower. "Ill be back." He said as he walks away. I followed, took a shower and waited with a towel as I still had no clothes. I sat on the bed, waiting for his return. The door slides open and here comes Ben.

"Here you go." He handed me clothes. Black outfit, at least it wasn't a dress this time. I put on the clothes. "You cant stay here."

"Why?" I turned to him.

"Its not safe. Snoke, he'll sense you. I can't have you in that type of danger." I walked up to him. He couldn't look at me. I put my thumb on his chin. Im not giving up. This is our chance.

"Ben, look at me." His eyes slowly turns to me. "I can protect myself. Trust me. I fought 5 men on my own." I gave him a smile, making sure that he wasn't sad, or hurt.

"Not with Snoke. He's too powerful." He grabs my hands. "I cant lose you. Not again." He kneels down, placing his head on my stomach. This wasn't Kylo Ren, at all. This was really Ben Solo. My Ben Solo. I can feel the light, peeking through. Ever since i came back. I stroked his hair, calming him down a bit.

"Whats your plan?" Just me seeing him like this, it just tears me apart.

"Do you trust me?"

"Yes." He gave a look, a serious one.

"You just cant stay here." I looked down, but I just got you. "Its far to dangerous. I'll help you get out of here, take a TIE-Fighter, go somewhere. Somewhere safe, away from this mess."

"But the resistance? Poe?" I cant just leave. Without them knowing? Leia? Rey? Poe? Finn?

"I just want you safe." Tears fell from my face. I continue to stroke his head.

"You need to disconnect the tracking on the fighter. You know how to do that?" I told him. He nods. "Disconnect that, then, Ill go." I choked on my words. Ill go, they haunted me. I just got him. Ben stood up and grabbed my face.

"Im sorry."

"Just, huh, take me to the room." I stuttered. He gave me cloak as I could blend in. The hood over my head and he gave me back my lightsaber. We left the bedroom. Ben grabbed my arm as if I was going to be taken somewhere since Hux is around. He took me to the room, luckily nobody was there. Ben took me to the controls. "You have to turn that on." He touched the button. "No the other one." He pointed at another button. "No." He was just pointing at different buttons. "No!"

"You yelling at me isn't going to make it better!"

"You make things so difficult sometimes."

"I really do." He rolled his eyes. "You could be a lot nicer." I made a fake laugh. "Admit, you think alright, angry or not." I turned to him. He was hovered over me.

"Occasionally, sometimes. Maybe when you not acting like a child." He backs me up. My back presses against the cold wall.

"A child?" He looks me up and down.

"Stop that." I whispered.

"Stop what?"

"Acting like a teenager, like you used to back in the temple." He stands up straight. "You're suppose to be the most evilest man in the galaxy. Yet, here you are drooling over me." He shakes his head.

"You just cant bare to keep a handsome man like me out of your mind." Is he being serious? Of course he is. Wow, he really is like his father.

"I have no idea were you get your imagination from, Princess." I crossed my arms. Here we are, talking it up, as if we had the whole time to ourselves. Some part of me thought it was fun to play around with him.

"Let me remind you, you express your feelings for me last night." My eyes widen.

"My- why you stuck up, half witted, scruffy looking, nerf herder! I Did not! You said it first! I just didn't want you to feel bad." He knew i was lying. I turned around so he wouldn't see that i was turning red.

"Really now?" He walks up behind me.

"There." I pressed the button to the TIE fighter, which is now disconnected. "After you your majesty." I curtsy.

"Why you-" i pushed him out the door. I put on my hood. We left the room and headed to the fighter. I opened the door and stepped in. "Theres two seats in here, come." Ben turns to me. I reached out my hand. "Let it all die. Join me." He reaches out but he pulls away.

"Just promise me you'll be okay." He sets me in the fighter, strapping me in. He grabs my cheek.

"Kiss me, just one more time. Please." I whispered as I grabbed his hands.

"If I do Hera, I wont be able to walk away."He pulls back and closes the door. I sat down and took one look at him, as if im not going to see him. I saw Hux coming, that was my cue. I flipped all the switches and took off. I tried to communicate with the base but no answer. I flew out, light-speed, remembering the coordinates I was last at. My head flew back and I made it. There she was, the ship.

"This is Commander Hera." I called back, nothing. I flew in the damaged ship. I banged on the door and the door slid open.

"Hands up!" I heard blasters. I sighed.

"Dont shoot!" I turned around. Everyone got in their stances. I took off my hood. "Miss me?" Everyone smiled. "Wheres Poe?" They told me that he was a room down the hall on the left. I ran out there. I opened the door. Poe quickly stood up. He saw me. "Looks like you seen a ghost big brother." We ran into each other for a hug.

"You scared me, i saw your ship-" He looked at me. "Ben saved you." I nodded. He gave me another hug. The ship shook. First order found us, they were shooting at us. Hux.

"Wheres Leia? I have to tell her something." I looked at him. He sighed. "Poe?"

"When your ship blew up, the control room blew up too. Everyone died, but Leia. She's unconscious." My face fell. "Shes going to pull through. Shes Leia."

"And Finn?"

"You were gone for days, i need to catch you up." He sat me down. "You know that we are almost out of fuel for-"

"Yeah, we cant jump to light speed, they'll track us."

"Right, So the First Order's only tracking us from one Destroyer, the main one." I nodded. "They'd only start tracking us from another Destroyer. Rose and Finn will sneak on board to the lead Destroyer and disable the tracker without them realizing, then they can..."

"They won't realize if it's for one system cycle." I finished. Poe smiles.

"About six minutes. Sneak on board. Disable the tracker Our fleet escapes before they even realize." Ill be damned. "What happened when you were there?" My eyes kinda widen. I didnt want to tell him, EVERYTHING.

"Ben and I talked. He helped me escape." I shook my head. "Wait, if Leia is unconscious, whos the General now?" Poe rolled his eyes.

"Holdo."

"Wait,-"

"Yes! But come on. We gotta go." He grabbed my hand and walked in the control room. "She in there?"

"The Admiral's banned you from the bridge. Let's not have a scene." D'acy tried to hold back Poe but he pushed through.

"No, let's. Holdo?" He walks up to the General in charge.

"You're not allowed in here."

"Flyboy." Holdo looks at me. "Hera, its a surprise to see you here. We all thought you died." She looks up. "Take her, i want to ask questions." Poe grabs the mans shirt as he was about to take me.

"Dont touch her." He pushes him off. "Cut it, lady. We had a fleet, now we're down to one ship, and you've told us nothing! Tell us that we have a plan! That there's hope!" Poe yelled. This was serious, Poe was too. Ive never seen him so angry.

"When I served under Leia, she would say, hope is like the sun. If you only believe in it when you can see it...."

"You'll never make it through the night." He pinches his nose in disbelief.

"Yes." The purple hair women just stood there, looking at Poe. I walked up to the controls of the ship. I saw they were fueling the transport.

"Are you fueling up the transports?" I said as I looked at her. She looked down. "You are."

"All of them? We're abandoning ship? Is that.... That's what you got? That's what you brought us to? Coward! Those transports ships are unarmed, unshielded. We abandon this cruiser, we're done. We don't stand a chance. No, you are not just a coward, you are a traitor." Poe got up in her face, yelling at her. I grabbed his arm, just to make him relax.

"Get this man off my bridge." She said. Poe pushes off the men and walks out himself. I followed him. What have we come to? This isn't the resistance.

"Finn, Holdo's loading the crew in the shuttles. She's going to abandon ship. Where are you?" Poe called Finn through the walkie.

"Poe, we're on our way back to the fleet. We're so close."

"Did you find the Master Codebreaker?" I frowned, Poe just shakes his head, telling me not to worry.

"We found a codebreaker. We can shut the tracker down. Just buy us a little more time." I saw Leia, laying on the bed, with all the wires connecting to her. It hurt me to see her like this. I pulled up a chair next to her. I grabbed her hand.

"Wake up Leia. We need you." I cried to her. "Please wake up."

"Alright, hurry." Poe places his hand on my shoulder. "We have this covered."
