chapter 6:
you'll never walk alone

it's the next day and council had already started picking up the pieces left from the infiltration and building back up the hq.

hs: episkey!

with a flick of the wrist, hae seul had magically healed the last of namjoon's wounds.

nj: thanks harriet.

he smiled but hae seul didn't reciprocate.

her eyes turned icy cold; for real they were literally blue as fuck.

hs: im not in the mood.

namjoon sat up from the bed in the infirmary and turned to hae seul.

nj: someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

hs: im leaving-

namjoon grabbed her wrist before she exited.

nj: hey, for real. what's wrong?

hae seul remained silent.

nj: oh..

the male patted her back and gave her a mini hug.

nj: it's gonna be okay harriet. will get your sister back.

hs: promise?

hae seul held out her pinky like a child. namjoon rolled his eyes and he locked her pinky with his.

hs: you gotta stamp it!

so they indeed stamped it.

hs: hehe

namjoon was about to roll his eyes for the gazillionth time when enyo entered the room suddenly.

nj: oh your excellency

the two respectfully bowed to the grey sister

ey: sorry to interrupt you both. i see that you have fixed up namjoon. good job young one.

hs: thank you enyo- i mean your excellency

ey: i just want you to know, young kim, we will get your sister back. namjoon, myself and my sisters will help you become stronger and learn to control your astounding abilities. the war will be soon over, and in our favour.

hae seul nodded.

ey: now, i need you to pack your belongings. now that the broken wands know where our base is, we can't stay here until they are obsolete.
our hq for the time, will be smaller but highly advanced technology wise. probably more advanced than here. there you will begin your training. we will be leaving at 30 minutes past noon. i will leave you to it.

nj: yes your excellency.

the two bowed one final time to enyo before heading to the sle- what's left of the sleeping quarters.

hs: so, namjoon?

the two were in the quarters packing their suitcases.

namjoon rushing around looking for his stuff while hae seul just sat on her bed and used her magic.

namjoon called her out for being lazy and the female simply replied that it was not indolence but "practising"

anyway, hae seul thought it was the perfect time to ask the question that was on her mind.

hs: who is jade?

namjoon sighed heavily, hoping that she wouldn't have asked. he dropped the close and sat beside her on the bed.

nj: her real name is jadesilea. daughter of ares, god of war, and otrera, a banshee.

[a/n: a little fyi for ya, jade is an original character that i created. her character is based off of penthesilea, a demigoddess, daughter of ares and otrera. actually otrera in mythology was a queen of the amazons but in my story, i made her a banshee, so jade is a more powerful being. thats why jadesilea is a nephalem, (half demon, half goddess) and not a demigoddess like penthesilea (half goddess, half human) ]

hs: a-ares? as in the ares?

nj: yeah, he's not that much of a monster you know. nice guy most of the time. makes a mean mac and cheese, no joke.

he chuckled a bit while hae seul was confused.

hs: how-

nj: jade....she's my ex girlfriend.

hs: o-oh..

nj: yeah. we were quite serious until, she betrayed the council.

hs: so wait. s-she was that ex member of the council you were talking about? the one that now leads the broken wands?

nj: yep. slept in this very quarter.

hae seul looked around then immediately fell silent.

the room stayed silent for a while, until namjoon answered the question that he knew was lingering in her mind.

nj: yes, she killed your mother..

her head shot around to face him with the most woeful face he'd ever seen.

hs: a-actually?

nj: yes...im sorry.

hs: and you dated that monster??

hot tears started streaming out of her eyes.

she felt this anger boiling inside her, for no reason at all. she didn't know why she felt a sudden hate towards namjoon; it's not like he killed her mother himself.

nj: hae seul, i loved your mother. i had know idea this was going to happen. i didn't believe that someone could make a full 180° change in their personality at first, but after that day i did. i hate jadesilea as much as you do now. probably more.

hs: she seems so fond of you though. don't you think you could have convinced her?? made her stay loyal to the council again so i wouldn't have to lose my mother?!?

nj: you don't think i tried!!!!!!

namjoon shouted at the top of his lungs. hae seul was taken aback by this sudden outburst and also at the fact that namjoon was shedding tears of his own.

nj: my biggest regret hae seul, was letting your mother die. i felt like i lost a part of me that day. it's like i lost my mother.

hae seul's eyes soften as she stared at namjoon.

nj: i will never let the same happen to you. i promised haeji i would protect you. and i always keep a promise. i'll train you to the best of my ability. we'll finish what haeji started, okay? you'll never walk alone.

namjoon smiled his precious smile and hae seul felt something inside her surging through. it wasn't her magic this time. it was something she couldn't explain; something she couldn't understand.

she shook it out of her head for now and smiled back.

hs: thank you.. it means alot.

hae seul started to get emotional again so namjoon pulled her in for a hug.

she, for the first time in a long time, felt safe, in his arms

as they shared this moment namjoon whispered in her ears..

nj: anything for you harriet..
