One shot. . . .Two Shots . . . Three shots . . . And then silence. That moment melted within the air. Steady. . . Oh so quiet silence . "I'll be there don't worry Bennett, I'm looking forward to knowing how the city has been treating you," Diluc smiled fondly over the phone in his gloved hand as he placed his oddly shaped gun back into the small sheath strapped to his belt. "Don't worry I don't have any plans."
The black melting figure in the distance stumbled from side to side, leaning onto one of the trees, leaving it to whither away, as if its touch was intoxicating. The red head's smile faded as he shut his phone before lifting the barrel of his gun back up at the slumped figure. "Now back to you . . . " Two shots echoed in the forest as the figure finally fell to the ground, killing the grass patch under it, along with any living or breathing creature an inch close to it's body, ". . . Your time is nearing."
"Well look at you Sir Diluc," Childe grinned, walking out from the shadow of a cider tree with his black blemished fingers coated in deep red blood. "You caught my little foolish birdie~"
The red head scoffed pointing his weapon at the ghostly newcomer though Childe was barely fazed by the unfriendly motion, and simply traced the recently new, blue, galaxy whale tattoo on his neck, mumbling, "You grown ups have no sense of imagination do you?"
He vanished back into the shadows. Bang Bang. Silver bullets hit nothing but thin air, leaving Diluc hastily looking around for the demon–like creature to reappear, pulling out a second spare gun strapped to his thigh. "Diluc Diluc ~ You were so much cuter . . . . And Ughh~ your nightmares were much taster as a child. Now you're all bland and oh-so-boring ~ " Childe flickered straight behind him, hand creeping up his back and dangerously resting on his shoulder. "Do you still look under your bed sir diluc ?~ Scared to get pulled under into the darkness like. . . You're little brother ?~"
Flames lit up in Diluc's eyes as rage boiled form within his chest and bursted out with his body twirling around and firing a rain of bullets at the humanoid figure. "Bummer you loved him so much~" the laugher of the damned demonic creature echoed all around the forest as the silver bullet followed behind, hot on its tail, drilling into old bark trees and see into weathering soil.
"I will find him,"he calmly retorted as his last bullets fell in despair to the crunchy forest ground of rough soil and green patches of life.
"Sure you will," Childe mocked, doubling over with laughter, while dangling off a tree with only his legs holding onto the thick branch," and monkeys can fly."
The flames in Diluc's hand flickered as he dropped his guns and straight up ran at the demonic fiend with murderous intent. His mind was clouded by past memories and nightmares. Nightmares caused long ago by the creature before him. With one punch he focused all the emotions running through him into his tightened fist, and bashed through the tree's trunk in an attempt to bring down Childe, but the demon only held on and got ready to flicker. Swiftly reaching for the mouth nuzzle on his belt, he made a jump for the demonic concussion and bashed the metal frame against the ginger's face. He instantly flicked the switch at the mini remote, and watched the gadget tighten against the shadowy creature's face. "The tracker is working," the voice from his ear piece solemnly replied ." Master Diluc? Do you copy?"
"Yes . . . I hear you," the red head dusted off his pants as he watched the ginger's dead-blue-eyes flicker with fury, before vanishing into the darkness. "Also, clear my schedule for the next week, I have to meet up with a young friend of mine."
He hung up and stared off into the silence of the forest. The soft gentle breeze sent a chill down his spine . . . It carried the hoarse calling of the monsters hiding deep in its shadows. Waiting. . . Listening. . . And craving nothing more than the taste of mortal fear.
" I'll find him sooner or later ."
