April

Spring was almost ending. The warm temperature confirmed that, this year, summer definitely would be warmer.

And somewhere, a certain couple was out enjoying this particularly warm weather.

Raven held a cone of ice cream they had gotten together, currently out at the park. She smiled at Garfield and held the cone out before him, inviting him to have some of it.

He smiled as he accepted the cone into his free hand and started to lick the ice cream.

Laughing at his desperate need for the ice cream, she said, "You're adorable, y'know."

"I don't like to think I'm adorable. I'd rather be something else." He replied, still eating the ice cream.

"Such as..?"

"Handsome, good-looking, hot, sexy. Definitely not cute."

"When you say stuff like that, know who you remind me of?

"Who?"

"Every fuckboy in this school." She rolled her eyes, taking his hand again and walking to the playground

"Race you to the swingset!" Garfield let go of her and ran towards the playground equipment, not caring if the other parents and children silently, or not so silently, judged them.

Raven maintained her leisurely pace, admiring the almost summer weather. She caught up to her boyfriend and sat on the swing next to his, swinging herself forwards and backwards.

He stopped his own swing to look at the girl. His girl, as he liked to think of it. He unknowingly smiled at her peaceful state.

The girl who had once threatened her, who had once hated him, had shown him another side of her. A side that not many people, if any people at all, had gotten to experience.

Why she hadn't exposed herself to others like this was beyond him. Although, he had contracted many theories as to why.

His most relevant theory was that she had developed trust issue, due to her father's beatings and overall verbal abuse.

She caught him looking at her, "What?" She asked, confirming his suspicions that she had not entirely changed when it came to her slight attitude.

"Nothing. Just looking at my girlfriend." He smiled widely at her, "I like saying that."

"Saying what?" She tilted her head just barely, questioning what he meant.

"That you're my girlfriend."

She thought about it for a few second, then shrugged and nodded, "I like saying that you're my boyfriend."

He responded with a kiss to her cheek, "And a damn good one at that." He laughed at his own joke. "Rita's probably worried for us, let's get home." He got up and helped her out of her seat, applying a small extra amount of force when pulling her up, purposely making her fall over him onto the mulch-covered ground.

She laughed, "Don't think I don't know that was not an accident, Gar." She said and kissed his nose

"I love you forever, Rave." He smiled at her and got up again. He rubbed the mulch off his pants and shirt. "Where to?"

"Didn't you say Rita would be worried for us?"

"That was to get you off the swing, Rita can last another hour without us."

She rolled her eyes at him, "I don't know where to go, I thought we were going to your house."

"I've got an idea."

"You having an idea is not a good start."

He laughed, "No, no. This is gonna be fun!" He unexpectedly grabbed her hand and pulled her forwards to an unknown location.

"

What is this place?"

"It's where I come to think."

"About what?"

"Everything."

"Like what?"

He looked at her with a smile, "You."

"What do you thing about me?"

"How I managed to get you."

"What do you mean?"

"It's like.. you're pretty, and funny, and just plain awesome."

"You're the same way."

"Well, yeah, I guess that's true. But I like you way better than I do myself."

She smiled, "Me too."

He laughed as he pulled her closer to him, "This is what I mean."

"What else do you think about?" She changed the subject.

"That's it."

"You said you think about everything."

"Well, yeah."

"But you only think about me."

"You're my everything."
