After a spate of witch and wizard killings, a
group of purebloods in Hogwarts are beginning to isolate themselves from the rest of the community and meet in secret. They claim to be worried about the longevity of sacred magic in the hostile muggle world.

They are dissatisfied with how they and other pureblooded were treated after the war - because of their parents they were spat on and treated like dirt. As if magic was something, which can be traced deep back into their bloodlines, to be ashamed off. They are not death eaters, because they feel their parents generation failed them. They must rise again before it is too late.

The group that forms is known as The Circle, their mark the circle of Ouroboros, a snake eating its own tail.

Another group senses unrest amongst these students, and fear that evil is settling in Hogwarts. They are the Resistance, and they will do everything they can to stop darkness from reigning once more.
