Everybody was coming into rehearsal and Seb and I were just talking when Natalie comes over, "Have you heard anything from Carlos or Miss Jenn? They're never late." she asks Seb. "It's weird. He's not responding to texts."

    Seb and I just continue talking until Natalie speaks up, "Guys, let's just start. Flip to When There Was Me and You in your script." she tells everyone.

"Well shouldn't we wait until Miss Jenn gets here?" Ashlyn questions and Natalie responds with, "Well I don't know. Apparently nobody's in charge." the girl says before Carlos comes into the room.

    "Okay, people, let's stage a number. I'm late." he says in a very cheerful manner, "Is Miss Jenn coming?" I ask Carlos.

    "Miss Jenn had a small personal matter to attend to and won't be here today." Carlos explains, "Oh, is everything alright?" I question as Seb says, "Good question." Carlos just responds with "Everything's fine. Why would you guys even ask that?" he says laughing slightly. Seb and I only glance at each other very confused on what is happening.

    "Okay. Gabriella, I need you downstage on this mark. Troy, stage right. Chad, stage left box. Um other boys, find a box." Carlos says staging everybody. "Uh, are they onstage with me while Im singing?" Nini asks Carlos, "Yes, they will be frozen in various poses to come. As the ballad builds, Nini, you will be wandering through a forest of boys."

    "Wait, what does that mean?" Nini questions.
"Do you know what a first of trees looks like?"

    "I do." Nini answers, "Okay, but with boys." Carlos says. "And, uh... I'm sorry, why?"

    "Because your heart has just been shattered and you can't stop thinking about how amazing Troy is." Carlos says before directing his attention to me, "Let's go."

    I start playing he song but Nini stops me, "Uh, no, I'm sorry, but at this point in the show Troy just sold me out to his teammates." "Well, she's got a point. What Troy did was kind of unforgivable. Respectfully, Carlos, I think the last thing anyone wants to see in this moment is four more versions of him." Ashlyn explains agreeing with Nini.

     "Maybe she could chop down the trees." Natalie suggests, "Or what if she's surrounded by a forest of loving and supportive sisters. Okay?" Kourtney says, to which all the girls seem to agree to. "Is it better if she sings a solo acoustic version?" Ricky suggests, everyone was kind of against the idea besides Gina.

    "Okay, you guys, this is not a democracy!" Carlos says shutting everybody up. "Carlos, are you okay? 'Cause it's not that deep. We can all come back when Miss Jenn gets here." Nini says walking over to stand in front of Carlos.

    "Well she's not here, and I don't know if she's ever coming back." Carlos says which shocked everyone, "She's in deep trouble, you guys. They're saying that she lied on her job application, and there's a school board meeting in less that's 24 hours, and she's probably going to lose her job. I wasn't supposed to tell any of you, but I'm trying to do my best here." Carlos explains as everybody get closer to him.

    "What are we even doing in rehearsal?" E.J says, "Wait, how can we have a show if we don't have a teacher?" Ashlyn questions. Everybody then starts getting mad and retaliating at each other until Nini leaves the room and everyone follows suit but I think Ricky and Gina just stayed back.

"Where are you going right now?" Ashlyn says as we both follow E.J as he walks very fast to find Nini. "E.J, I don't think your the person to comfort her right now. You're not her boyfriend anymore." Ashlyn states as we still follow him. "Yeah, I know." E.J responds. "Nini, can we talk?" E.J asks her. "Uh, right now?" She questions, "Yeah I'll get to why in a sec, but Miss Jenn isn't the only person with secrets. I really need to get some stuff off my chest." He says as we stop at Kourtney's locker.

"Like what?"

"How much time do you have?"

"I think I'm gonna..." Ashlyn starts as Kourtney and I agree and leave the ex-couple alone.

Everybody was sitting around Big Red's basement not doing anything until Natalie speaks up, "This is a terrible party, there aren't even pretzels. What are we all doing here?"

"We all ended up in the same basement after a really bad day, so someone should say something." Ashlyn says, "Fine. I'll say something. I'm mad at Miss Jenn." Carlos exclaims. "Why? Because she's got a couple skeletons in her closet?" Gina questions him, "No, because she's giving up. She was the first teacher to not see me as a punchline, and nows she's not even a real teacher."

"Define 'real teacher'." Ashlyn says.

"He's got a point" Kourtney states.

"Does he though?" Natalie questions.

"Guys." Big Red exclaims mot wanting everybody to fight. "So, why are we all here then?" Natalie asks, "Yeah,good question. This is a waste of time." E.J complains, everyone was silent until Carlos says, "Honestly? Because she gave me a shot. And it's been a long time since someone gave me a shot."

"She gave me a voice." Nini shares, "Yeah, and now nobody's gonna get to hear it because Miss Jenn screwed up." Kourtney says.

"Okay, does anyone here actually care if her past is a little bit sketchy? Anyone?" Ashlyn asks everybody, "I do." Ricky says making all eyes go on him. "What, because you live some perfect life?" Kourtney argues, "Not at all." Ricky answers. "Because she put our show in jeopardy. And now we're all here maybe for the last time, together. And for some of us, this has become.." He continues but trails off at the end, "Family." Nini answers for him.

"What team?" Ricky says, "Wildcats." everyone says smiling slightly. "Okay, Wildcats. So, what are we doing about it?" Ashlyn asks before I say, "You know what I'm thinking? I say we pull a good old fashioned Disney Channel Original Movie, and do what we do best."

"Miss Jenn, it may not surprise you to learn that we have heard earful about your unorthodox style ever since you got to East High. Personally, I always chalked it up to the well-known fact that people in the dramatic arts are insane." Principal Gutierrez explains as Miss Jenn only responds with a thank you.

"But now, we have news that your resumé is exaggerated. Your teaching credential is from some obscure online university, and even your official name might be some version of a stage name. What for you say to this charge?" Principal Gutierrez explains.

"I have always done my best by these kids."

"Just answer the question."

"Excuse me? Can I say something?" Mr. Bowen calls from the audience. "I'm sorry. We're not opening up the floor to parents on this." Gutierrez says before some parents interrupt him. "Go ahead, Mr. Bowen."

"I'm a little late to this party, but I gotta say the real crime here would be booting a teacher who's making a positive impact. I've never seen my kid this invested in anything, and I don't think that's something we should punish, Your...Honor." He says as everybody looks over at Ricky who's just smiling at his dad.

""Mr. Bowen, I appreciate your statement, but I think we can all agree that theater isn't unique in this regard. It doesn't have some special fairy dust that can't be filled by another extracurricular." Gutierrez explains to everybody before we have to start your way to save Miss Jenn.

We all start humming as everybody slowly starts to stand up from our seats. Kourtney then holds up a boom box as music starts playing.

3rd person POV

Kourtney: Don't say another word

Nini: Some of need to be heard

Nini, Ashlyn, & Marie: You want her big confession

Kourtney: She never say 'Dear Evan Hansen'

Ashlyn & Ricky: Whatever you think about her
The show can't go on without her

All of the theater kids starts dancing and moving over by Miss Jenn.

Kourtney: Maybe her class could be a little more classy

Ricky, Gina & Marie: Maybe her heads not in the game

Carlos: Maybe her past is just a little bit sketchy

Everyone: We need her all the same

Marie: She's the one who cheers us on
So what if she's dropping the ball?

Everyone: She stands for truth, justice and songs in our key
She stands of us and we believe

Ricky: Before she got here we were so off track

Gina: Then Miss Jenn gave us a chance

Ashlyn: We used to fall asleep in chemistry class

Everyone: Now it makes us want to dance

Marie: She's the show that must go on so we're puttin' in a good word, 'cause we heard

Everyone: She stands for truth, justice and songs in our key
She stands of us and we believe

Nini: What's my motivation?

Ashlyn: Seems about time for a modulation

All of the theater kids have a good ol  dance break as kids in the back hold up a sign the says '#Save' they flip it the other way and it says 'Miss Jenn'.

Marie POV

    We finish, as everybody made jazz hands around Miss Jenn. Everybody then starts clapping for all of the us but was interrupted by Principal Gutierrez, "Settle, people! Settle down. Settle down. Do we have any further questions?" He says looking around at the panel next to him.

    "Just one. So, do I snag two tickets for opening night?" A teacher said before she did Martha Cox's famous dance. We all started cheering and I ran over to hug Gina.

    I go over to Nini and Seb and hug both of them, Nini and I look over to see Ricky and Gina hugging as he lifts her up and spins her around. I look over and see that Nini looks kind of upset, "Hey, wanna go get some ice cream after this?" I ask her hoping a treat would cheer her up. "Yeah, sounds great." She says as we both burst into laughter.

"Marie! Hang on, before you go. I saw your song, and I think have an idea." Miss Jenn tells me, smiling. "Wait, what song?" I question giving her a confused look.

"The one you sent me, after homecoming." Miss Jenn explains, "I sent that you?" I ask her as she is just smiles, nodding.

"Um, well I actually didn't mean to send that to you." I add almost whispering. "Well, I wanna put it in the show." Miss Jenn says before walking away.

"Okay, what is this song that Miss Jenn was talking about?" Nini questions me with a smile. "I may or may not have written a song and accidentally sent it to Miss Jenn." I said looking over to Nini. "Well I want to hear this song sometime, but in the mean time how about we go get some delicious ice cream." She said as we link arms as we go off to find Kourtney.

    Nini, Kourtney and I all then go to get ice cream and ended up having a really fun time.
