UNEVENTFUL, WAS A WAY OF DESCRIBING HOW MARIE FELT ABOUT STARTING AT EAST HIGH. Gina felt the opposite about the the day though, she was actually really excited to start new. Marie did agree with her on that, wanting and needing a fresh start somewhere new.

The two girls walked up to the school, passing through different guys in skateboards and couples holding hands. They both stopped in front of the doors, glancing at each other, "You ready?" Gina questioned, her hand outstretched for her sister to grab. Marie nods, grabbing her sisters hand, "Let's do it."

After visiting the office, getting schedules and locker assignments, the pair of sisters hung out before class started at Gina's locker. They looked a couple lockers down to see a boy and girl arguing quite loudly. "Come on, Ricky. You know what you did, or what you didn't do." The girl spoke, as Marie and Gina shared a look.

"I don't believe this." The boy said in disbelief, shaking his head. "You're blowing me off for some theater punk you met four weeks ago? At a lake?" He continued as the two girls acted like they weren't listening to the conversation.

    "You kinda dumped me!" The girl exclaimed. "It was a break not a break-up!" The boy said trying to defend himself.

    "I'm sorry, Ricky. But it's a break-up now." The girl said leaving everyone in silence.

    Marie looked over at Gina to see she's already look at her with a small smirk on her face. The two turn away from the lockers to see the girl and her friend walking away from the two boys. "First day of school and there's already drama." Marie mumbled quietly to Gina, "Yeah, way to start the year." Her sister stated as she was still looking at the two girls as they walk away.

    THE SISTERS AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE SCHOOL SAT IN THE GYM, LISTENING TO THE PRINCIPAL TALK. "This year, East High has a new drama teacher with an announcement she swore, in writing, would not cost too much money." Gina's head perked up when they heard there was a new drama teacher, Marie wasn't much of a theater person but Gina loves it so she was interested about the new teacher.

    The principal moved to the side as a blonde woman walked up and then shot a cannon with a red t-shirt, "Go Wildcats!" The students were quiet as the shirt collided with a student, him coursing a small 'ow' in the process.

    "My name is Miss Jenn and when I heard that the high school where High School Musical was shot had never staged a production of High School Musical: the musical, I was shocked as an actress, inspired as a director, and triggered as a millennial." Millennial? After she said that everybody couldn't help but chuckle a little and look at her a bit confused.

    "Auditions are tomorrow after school. This could change your lives and I'm saying this as a background dancer from the original movie. Third from the left, back row, red headband, and those are my real teeth," She started saying but was cut off by a boy coming up next to her, "Meet your student choreographer Carlos, who will assist me through this process." Gina smirked, starting at feel excited about these new people, while Marie looked very nervous for what could happen.

    "We are auditioning for that musical." Gina said as they exited the gym to the next class.

    "Yup." Marie responded, not really paying attention to what she said. "Wait. What do you mean we?" Marie asked stopping in her tracks to look over at her sister, brows furrowed.

    "I mean both you and I are going to audition for this musical." She explained while grabbing her sisters shoulders excitedly. 

"No, no, nope! I'm not auditioning!" Marie exclaimed pushing her arms off of her, shaking her head profusely and walking away from her.

"Yes, you are!" Gina calls across the hallway.

"No I'm not!" She calls back to Gina with her back still turned.

   AS SOON AS THE FINAL BELL RANG, Marie tried to sneak out of school as fast as possible so Gina didn't make her audition. She almost succeeded in that plan too, until she was interrupted by Gina, "Marie!" She exclaimed, as Marie stopped in her tracks, slowly turning around to face the brown haired girl.

     "Do I have to?" The redhead whined not wanting to do this musical.

     "Yup! And you can't complain about it." Gina says dragging her to the auditions.

    Gina and Marie were in the dressing rooms waiting for the auditions to start. "People! Make sure your audition number is clearly visible on your clothes. This isn't a game." said Carlos as he walked in the room. A few minutes later Miss Jenn came into the room knocking on the door as she said "Okay theater people. Let's do this."

    Once the auditions started, there was a big group of people dancing to a combo Carlos had taught, and of course Gina was front and center completely nailing the dance. Marie watched her sister with a small smile from the wings. I wish I was more like her.

"Everyone, pair up. Not with a friend." Mis Jenn says, as Marie looked around nervously for someone to pair up with when a girl with red hair came up to her. "Hi, you got a partner yet?" The girl asked, a smile plastered on her face.

      "Um, hi, no I don't actually." Maries paused before continuing, "Wanna be my partner?" She asked and she surprisingly said yes.

     "I'm Ashlyn by the way." she says extending her hand out.

     "Marie, it's nice to meet you." She says, starting to shake her hand.

    "Are you new here? I don't think I've seen you around." She asks.

   "Uh, yeah, I just transferred." Marie says, smiling a bit. "Well we're happy to have you, Marie." she says to me before Miss Jenn brings everybody back to reality.

    Later on, the students were all in a line and Miss Jenn is giving everybody different characters to read she gives Gina 'Gabriella', obviously Gina is the perfect Gabriella. Miss Jenn then looks at Marie and says,"How about Kelsi?" The girl just nodded in response."You play piano?"

    "I dabble." Marie responded, kind of nervous for her reaction, but all she does is smile and nod.

    Gina was now singing 'The Start of Something New', in front of everybody for her Gabriella audition, she was killing it as always. Marie was sitting on the stage watching her kind of in awe, she always kind of envied her sister. She was everything Marie wasn't.

    After Gina is done they all clapped for her as she walks off. Then Nini is about to song when Ricky barges into the auditorium, "Am I too late? Am I too late?" He says running to the stage.

     "We're all set on Troys. We're low on Chads. You can read after the Gabriellas." Miss Jenn says.

     "I only studied the Troy scenes in the movie." Ricky admits. Carlos then says, "Troy would have arrived on time." As far as I know Troy was late to everything.

     "Okay, Nini let's try this again." Miss Jenn says trying to get everybody on track. One guy, E.J who Marie came soon to learn, cheered for his girlfriend, which makes Miss Jenn spill her coffee on the lighting system. All of the lights going out except for a few.

    "Nobody panic! Nini, let's wait for the lights to come back on. I don't want this to throw you." Miss Jenn says trying to calm everyone down.

    "I'm not thrown." Nini says, preparing herself. Nini then sings, and she is amazing, as she is singing Ricky and then E.J went up to her with a flashlights.

Once she is done they all clapped and Miss Jenn says, "You, late boy. Let's do the Chad sides."

     Ricky goes up there and says, "Hey, there. I'm Ricky Bowen. I'm a junior. And uh...here we go." He then starts reading, "I don't get it, Troy. What kinda spell has this elevated IQ temptress-girl cast that suddenly want you to be in a musical?"

God, he definitely has never acted before.

     He then looks down and crumples up the paper. "I don't know. Maybe it's the way Gabriella always has your back. And maybe you can't stop beating yourself up about blowing it with her. And look, Troy. Even if you never said the L-word to Gabriella, cause that's, not even a word your parents say to each other anymore.... That doesn't mean that you don't. Maybe it just means you were waiting for the right time to say it... so that everyone could hear it. No, so that she could." He finishes, earning kind of shocked look from his peers.

    "Okay, kiddo time to sing." Miss Jenn directs. I wonder how well he can sing, after whatever just happened. "Oh, no, actually if you don't mind, I kinda prepared my own song?" Ricky says as he stops the kid playing the piano. Miss Jenn just nods in response. Ricky then goes to grab his guitar and starts strumming.

Auditions end soon after, and as everybody starts to leave the auditorium when Carlos runs through
everybody with the cast list. Once he puts it up everyone rushes over, Gina pushes through everyone with me just behind her.

The two sisters look at the cast list with their faces both full of shock. How did Gina not get Gabriella? And I got Kelsi! I was expecting to not get a part at all, but I actually got one! I wonder what Miss Jenn sees in me to give me a part in the show.

"Chad? She thinks I'm a Chad!" E.J. exclaims talking about his role. Marie looked over at Gina and she looks hurt and upset.

   "Congrats." Gina says to Nini who still seems to be in shock. Everything then seems to go quiet as Ricky slowly walks up to the list, he seems to be in shock as well.
