brielle and barrett both had relatively normal childhoods. they were both enrolled in sports [brielle being volleyball, barrett being hockey — that of which he still currently plays]. however, brielle and her brother were more "siblings" than they were twins. entirely opposite of one another, the two had no similar interests, different friend groups, and different perceptions entirely. brielle's rebellious tendencies seemed to remain dormant, until she reached middle school, and fell in with the wrong crowd. barrett berated her frequently for this, inevitably resulting in brielle further severing any remaining "twin bonds." the first signs of brielle acting out, so to speak, came subtly — skipping school, staying out past her curfew, and even sneaking out to meet up with friends or, a few times, boys her parents had specifically disapproved of.
