ʜᴇ's ᴍʏ ʙʀᴏᴛʜᴇʀ

She couldn't help but stare at his pale face. Just yesterday it had been full of joy as he had told her about his plans.

He wanted to travel to Thailand, once he had his break from university.
Maybe she could join him.
Her eyes filled once more with tears.

He had no life threatening injuries, a broken collarbone and a head injury that needed stitches. Yet he was still unconscious.

His phone rang. She glanced at the clock. Normally, he would've been picked up by his brother at the sushi bar since fourty minutes. It wondered her that he didn't call earlier.

With a long sigh she answered.

“ᴏʜᴀʏō ɢᴏᴢᴀɪᴍᴀsᴜ, I am Dr, Saito from Naniwa Hospital” she greeted.

“ᴏʜᴀʏō ɢᴏᴢᴀɪᴍᴀsᴜ, ᴛʜɪs ɪs ʜᴏʀɪᴋɪᴛᴀ ʏᴜᴛᴀ. ᴡʜʏ ᴀʀᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀɴsᴡᴇʀɪɴɢ ᴍʏ ʙʀᴏᴛʜᴇʀ's ᴘʜᴏɴᴇ? ᴅɪᴅ sᴏᴍᴇᴛʜɪɴɢ ʜᴀᴘᴘᴇɴᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ʜɪᴍ?”

Her breath faltered. She knew that voice, God she knew and loathed it. Was he being serious?

Again she glanced at Hideki and found similarities. Same dark eyes, same slightly curly hair and that smile that could haunt you in dreams.

“It is better if you would come here.”

“ɪ ᴀᴍ ᴄᴜʀʀᴇɴᴛʟʏ ɪɴ ᴛᴏᴋʏᴏ ғᴏʀ ᴀ ʙᴜsɪɴᴇss ᴍᴇᴇᴛɪɴɢ! ᴛᴇʟʟ ᴍᴇ ʀɪɢʜᴛ ɴᴏᴡ ᴡʜʏ sᴏᴍᴇᴏɴᴇ ғʀᴏᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ ᴀɴsᴡᴇʀᴇᴅ ᴍʏ ʙʀᴏᴛʜᴇʀ's ᴘʜᴏɴᴇ!”

Didn't Hideki speak of something like that? That he would have to take the subway to get home? That he lived with his elder brother because his parents were busy running their empire from Tokyo?

Slowly, calmly she explained what they knew. All the while she held Hideki's hand wondering why the boy who always ordered  Onigiri was earlier.

Silence.
She wondered if Yuta had terminated the call. It wouldn't surprise her. A long breath sounded then again that dreamlike voice.

“ɪ'ʟʟ ʙᴇ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ɪɴ ᴛʜʀᴇᴇ ʜᴏᴜʀs.”

With that, he terminated the call. She stood there, silent. That was until a grown alerted her.

“Chinami?”

She turned to look at the boy who stared at her groggily. Then she paged Yui and walked to him.

Grabbed his hand and pressed a tender kiss to it.

“I am here, Hideki.”
