[ Chapter Twenty—the hooker ]

"I am not sucking your cock," was my response after a few seconds.

I was in no mood to be fucked around with. The full moon was already causing the weird-ass side effects, now for a bombshell like this to be dropped on me. Seriously, moving into Caius's room. What the hell?

Is he trying to make us actually kill each other?

Seeing him is already bad enough, I don't want to share a space with his old ass. Nor do I want to go to sleep with him anywhere around me, he will probably strangle me in my sleep! But death is still better than this boring eternity that stands in front of me.

My shoulders sagged at the thought of only three weeks that went by in the winds of eternity.

Caius's once blank expression was immediately replaced with annoyance. Aro simply looked done with me, a large breath escaping him (even though we all knew they did not breathe).

Caius easily placed his arms behind his back, standing straighter if possible—they already had impeccable postures. However, for once, the two kings were not wearing their cloaks making their forms easily visible.

I momentarily wondered where the third stooge was—their brother. Where the hell was Marcus? Actually, never mind, he was probably off sulking in the gardens or something. Poor dude, but I would be lying if I said I did not feel him to some degree.

"As if I would ever stoop that low," my mind was brought back to the present at Caius's sarcastic words.

He eyed me up and down making me feel almost self-conscious. If he was not careful then I will make myself barf on his fucking shoes. Actually, scratch that—I will just go bat shit crazy on his stupid perfect face.

My eyes hardened, and I crossed my arms while throwing my supposed mate a heavy scowl.

"Sorry," I rolled my eyes dramatically, "I forgot that you only let Aro play with your cock..."

Caius had released such a vicious growl, I swear the kitchen shook. Aro was holding onto his arm to stop him from charging and ceasing yet another brawl between us before it could even start.

"No, absolutely not in the kitchen!" Aro cried while holding back Caius. "Brother, you know we just had this place redone! Stop falling prey to her words!"

"Do I look like I care? You know as well as I that we have enough money and power to buy the entirety of Scandinavia if we so wished!"

"That does not mean we should waste it on redoing disasters that should not have occurred in the first place!" Aro groaned.

I watched them both while handing Caius a nasty smile. It made him rage even more causing Aro to struggle even more and me to laugh even more which also caused my smile to grow even more.

The chaotic situation was interrupted by a model walking into the kitchen. Long legs covered in thin fishnets and a tight blood-red dress over a skinny but curvaceous body. She had long shiny brunette waves that fell lusciously. Her make-up was perfectly done accentuating her already gorgeous face.

She arched a brow at the scene but placed an easy smile on her face nevertheless. As far as vampire beauty went, this girl somehow exceeded almost all I had seen. Other than Rosalie and Nessie, the three were probably on the same level as each other.

I really hope this brunette version of Rosalie was not as bitchy.

"Masters," she gave a small courtesy and Aro's attention befell on her.

Caius ignored her presence keeping his gaze locked firmly on me.

"Ah, dearest Heidi! Jaclyn, our dear Heidi here will be assisting you with the move while my brothers and I are in court. Behave yourselves!" He barely got out before forcefully pulling Caius away, the two speeding off at vampire level.

I snickered. It was so much fun to get under Caius's skin!

The model was already staring at me when I allowed my full attention to befall on her. The package of bacon that I was previously eating was gone and I was in the middle of crumbling the plastic when I raised a brow at her.

Was she like the pretty silent type or something...?

The eery sound of the castle/tomb/underground-clocktower-catacomb-thingy echoed. If I listened hard enough, I was easily able to pick up on the sounds of vampires running around, the court which had just begun and Caius grumbling angrily, and of course Felix and Demetri bickering with each other.

I swear I just heard Alec sigh on the other side of the place.

"Mistress Jaclyn," the silence was finally broken by her beguiling voice, and my attention was brought back to her.

I crinkled my nose in response, no matter how musical her voice was: the words left a bad taste in my mouth. Mama did not raise me to be anybody's bitch... or mistress or whatever.

Tossing the plastic into the trash, I moved around the countertops while eyeing the vampire. She was intimidating in the sense that her beauty was able to throw most off. The killer tilt of her lips was almost deadly.

Admittedly, I was a bit jealous, but that was a normal emotion when faced with such a jewel. Anybody: supernatural being or not would be jealous of this female. The part that killed me was the momentary annoyance I felt about thinking of how this lady worked so close with Caius for centuries. Suddenly, my busted, dusted, and crusted appearance bothered me a bit more.

And then that made thoughts about Athenodora pop up. Now, it was not like I was purposely trying to think about his old wife, nor did I want to feel this ugly green emotion: but I blamed it on the full moon, it made my more animalistic urges pop up.

As much as I hated to admit it, Caius was still my mate. The animal within, no matter how much I hated him, still was begging me to claim him in one way or another. I almost scoffed out loud, fat chance!

I shook my head, knocking myself out of the stupid thoughts. Both this lady and Athenodora could have Caius: no matter how annoyed I was overcome with at the thought.

"Don't ever call me mistress again," I finally spoke up, lips pursed, "that is literally the most disgusting phrase ever... I would rather be called a damn whore..."

Surprise overcame me when she tilted her head back and let out a small laugh. She giggled while looking at me once again.

"Ha—so it is true what everyone says. You are quite the hilarity with a sharp tongue..." she smiled, and I rose a brow while crossing my arms.

"Yes," I drawled, "the one-woman comedy act right here," I spoke sarcastically, looking down my nose at her.

Okay, so maybe I was being a little more bitchy than necessary. But cut me some slack: I already am being bombarded with unwanted feelings of protectiveness over Caius and the full moon was doing nothing for the classic werewolf temper.

"Very well, I will address you as simply Jaclyn," she expressed, "I am Heidi, a pleasure to meet you..." though her words were kind, I did not appreciate the almost snide undertone she hid in it. "I am the fisher, I overlook the feeding of our coven. I deal with all tourists, I choose who comes, and I attract even more humans..."

I listened as she spoke of her job, scowling internally.

"So you're like the Volturi hooker then?" I asked in earnest.

The sweatpants were breezy but still warm. My hoodie was no doubt baggy, but it kept me warm in the drafty castle and covered my hair that was impossible to shave at the moment. It mattered not if I shaved, it would only grow back within the hour.

Upsetting; yes, but at least after the full moon it would not grow quite as dramatically. Besides, my pretty appearance for every week other than the one of the full moon was so worth it.

Heidi tilted her head, and I swore I saw her eye twitch. Her smile momentarily faltered, but in seconds it was back twice as bright.

"Did that sound like a hooker to you?" She finally purred in a sweet manner.

I gave her a dry look in response. "Uhm, yeah actually, but like a really bad hooker who screws clients over..."

And it wasn't a lie, she totally screwed the tourists over by killing them.

Heidi folded her hands in front of her, and it was then I took account of the black gloves she wore. "I can assure you that we make sure all the tourists have a grand vacation before our feeding session. The castle tour is the last thing that they do on their vacations, so they have plenty of time to live out their last days with great joy..."

I was not sure if that excuse was supposed to help her cause or not.

"Uh-huh, well that still sounds screwy to me..." I clicked my tongue.

Heidi sighed dramatically before nodding her head as a gesture to follow, and we were off in silence walking toward where I knew my room to be. Well, my old room now, I suppose.

There goes my hope of redecorating this place.

I sighed while looking over the room. It was not like it was mine, but my luggage from Cullen Manor had arrived recently, and I had just been about to put my clothes in the closet.

Why did Caius suddenly want me around him? Nothing had changed between us. Our interactions were still far and few between, and when we did interact all we did was fight. I hate him and he hated me. We are simply too different. New and old. Day and night. The sun and the moon. Vampire and werewolf: it could never work.

Our personalities clashed in the worst of ways, nothing that we had contributed to the other. I am literally unable to have a conversation with the man without wanting to rip his head off. And he is always just so... angry. Like he brought bitch to a whole other level.

Being forced to live in the same room as he now was just unfair. It was going to be a horrible experience and I know for a fact that this will be the way that I die. Or the way that Caius dies, but I know if I kill Caius the Volturi will not hesitate to destroy me.

"Alright, let us start to pack and move your items," Heidi clapped happily.

There was not much to pack, but I directed Heidi to the few things I intended to bring. She helped me in folding my clothing and moving certain items back into my bags.

"So Heidi, what's your story: why is a pretty chick like yourself stuck in a place like this?" I finally questioned after a second of working silently.

I swear if Heidi could blush she would have. "Mmm, surprisingly, my existence has not been all that interesting: certainly not as interesting as other immortals," she crinkled her nose at one of my dresses before ultimately folding it and placing it in my suitcase.

I rolled my eyes at that. So what if it was a simple H&M dress, not everyone could afford designer brands. Discount places and thrift stores were often the way to go for me: especially being a broke college student.

"Well, we have time: let's hear it," I hummed back.

Heidi did not hesitate in delivering her small history, "I was born around six hundred years ago in Germany, and my human life was hard and miserable. A vampire by the name of Hilda changed me out of pity, from there I remained in her coven for a small while. My over-enchanting appearance has a tendency to attract humans making it very easy to hunt for me. Far easier than most vampires find it. Eventually, the coven got big enough that it started gaining too much attention..."

"Aro destroyed Hilda and everyone else in the coven except me and another; Victoria, but that was only because she got away. However, she apparently started causing trouble with the Cullens a few decades back so they destroyed her. Aro deemed me an innocent and allowed me to refuge with the Volturi, and I've been here ever since..." she did not seem too moved by her own story, speaking with an upbeat voice the entire time.

We were both tilted over the large bed, my suitcases spanned across them and we reorganized what was already in there and added a few clothes. Actually, Heidi had a small pile off to the side of stuff that had to be washed.

"You are correct, that was quite the story," I smirked in amusement and Heidi delivered one in return.

"You know," she folded a shirt, "you and Caius might have the most unusual mate bond anyone has ever held. And yet, it makes sense because you both still manage to complete and challenge each other..."

I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "Yeah, not really. I hate him, he hates me, period. Seriously, I have no clue why he is even having me move in, probably to kill me in my sleep..."

Surprisingly, Heidi only snickered in return. She had turned and started piling the clothing on the floor into a small white laundry bin. I noticed her making faces of disgust at even more garments of mine, particularly the cheaper pieces that were obviously worn.

"Is that truly what you think, Miss American pie girl?" Heidi questioned with another laugh.

The face I made at the sudden nickname was comical. What the hell does that even mean? I have never heard that in my entire life.

Not to mention, while I may have been born in the USA, my ethnicity was still half-Latina. My father is Hispanic, and my mother Caucasian. My father was born in the USA; however, his parents are originally from Mexico.

"What the fu—" I was unable to finish my statement, for Heidi was speaking over me.

"I will let you in on a small little secret," she elaborated, "while Master Caius may still be against it: he truly does care about you in his own twisted way. Just as you do him. It is instinct, and as much as you both try to deny it, it is impossible for you guys not to care. Sulpicia, after speaking to you, has managed to convince him to make more of an effort toward you as well,"

"she—hmm, how should I phrase this?" She smirked as I was looking at her in pure curiosity, my mind ringing at her words. "Slapped some sense into him. Told him that the situation was not going to get any better unless he put on his big boy pants and started to try. She also said something about how he cannot change the fates no matter how much he whines. Besides, seeing as you still sleep, it has not gone unnoticed by anyone that he has the urge to watch over you in your vulnerable state. I believe you moving in is simply his way of finally trying to get to know you..."

I scowled in response to the lengthy explanation.

"But I do not want to get to know him," I complained, "and what does that other part even mean? Is he fucking watching me sleep now," I spat, immediately thinking of when Edward did that to Bella.

That was fucking creepy. What do vampires not get about that?

"I mean, he has been stopping in for a few hours every night," she smirked while I scowled even deeper.

Just motherfucking great...!

"Damn it, I don't fucking want this—"

"Oh hush," Heidi stopped my rant before it could even start with a roll of her eyes.

I clenched my fists and made a sour face at her. She did not even flinch, her heels clicking as she worked around the bedroom. Calming down, I found myself asking a sudden question.

"Do you have a mate then?"

Heidi tilted her head toward me with an almost invisible but mischievous smile written across her face.

"No..." she said in an elongated tone, "but I do have what you might call..." she trailed, "fuck buddy," and she used air quotes while I was simply shocked that she actually used 21st century vocabulary.

"Who?" The question slipped from my slips and I was scratching the back of my head while thinking of who it could be.

Heidi bit her lip, her red eyes turning to me, "Demetri," she finally answered to my shock.

There was a moment of silence.

And then loud cackling laughter, and I was bent in half unable to catch my breath from how hard I was snickering.

"Wow," I wiped a tear from my eye, "and here I was thinking he had not had pussy for the last few centuries, but all along he had you..." I shook my head in disbelief, "well, spill the beans: is he good in bed?"

Heidi nodded enthusiastically, "very," she laughed, "but nothing compared to the Kings I assume..."

"What do you mean?" I mused, the both of us now just sitting on the bed and speaking.

The packing was over: there had not been much to do, to begin with.

"Surely you realize they have been around for centuries, I promise you they have picked up quite some skill in that time..."

Was it hot in here? I suddenly felt rather hot. Against my will, an image of Caius doing unspeakable things raced into my mind and a bright blush was lighting up my cheeks. Heidi was laughing as she saw this, but I glared in response.

"Well I can promise," the snark in my tone was real, and I could not stop myself, "that I am much better..."

It was hard to distinguish why I constantly felt the need to one-up myself with anything Caius-related.

Heidi was staring at me, "well, we have all been wondering exactly what it must feel like to bed a werewolf," she revealed.

Bed? Who even uses that term?

Despite this, it was a nice confidence booster to know that was something the vampires have been wondering. I motioned with my hands as a sign for her to continue.

"Of course we're all curious. Because, you're still strong: you're supernatural, but you are not a vampire. You are still warm and soft like a human, but not breakable. Even I need to admit, the idea is intriguing,"

Ooh, okay: gas me up while you are at it.

I briefly wondered if anyone was listening in on this is conversation. No doubt a few bored guards had to have been.

My feet swung back and forth on the bed before I brought them up and sat cross-legged on the edge. Heidi was sprawled next to me, her tight red dress crunching at her hips. The velvet of her black pumps looked soft to the touch, and I had to admit they were a shoe I would not mind wearing.

"In that case," I finally decided to answer, "feel free to let everyone in this castle know that I am warm..." I paused to promiscuously run my tongue over my bottom lip, "and I am kinky," my voice dropped a few octaves and I put on my best 'sexy eyes', "and I fuck..." my stare bore straight into Heidi's, "like an actual Goddess,"

I really hope that Caius can hear me.

Heidi blinked and tilted her head, examining me a bit closer. I must have looked a hot mess with the pre-full moon appearance, but holding myself so licentiously.

"Okay," she suddenly chirped with an almost knowing grin, "I'll make sure everyone knows: especially Master Caius..."

Everything was going well I would say. I mean, as well as a kidnapped werewolf and sexy vampire who works for said werewolf's kidnappers can talk. And still, suddenly—literally out of nowhere, there was a snap inside of me.

For NO REASON AT ALL, a shift faster than light itself happened and before I could comprehend my own actions, my head snapped to Heidi with a half-shifted wolf face, huge canines elongated and on full display, hauntingly glowing blue eyes, and saliva spitting from my mouth.

The only thing I could compare it to was a sudden twitch in your sleep. An involuntary movement.

I growled lowly: my own voice merging with something much more demonic.

This was not exactly unheard for me to do, the closer the full moon got then the harder that the animal within was scratching at the door. The wolf was ready to play. And sometimes, she just leaked out without my consent.

The first time something like this happened, Emmett and I had been playing a video game. He had just won and his victory dance caused this. He actually screamed and ran away like a little girl: everyone was laughing for days after.

Heidi jumped and moved so quickly to the other side of the room that she was a blur. She was against the wall, looking at me with pure alarm and caution, a slightly fearful look on her face.

In milliseconds, Demetri and Felix both burst into the room. Their faces were drawn with panic and as they turned to me: it was Demetri who literally jumped back and stood on the wall with Heidi. Felix only looked confused and slightly scared, but he remained put.

"Woah!" I coughed, bending over and forcing my features to go back to normal.

A few hacks escaped me, but as I stood up I held my hands up as a sign of peace. Everything was back to normal except my eyes, I desperately tried blinking them back to brown, but alas the glowing blue remained. I can tell when my eyes shifted to blue, for my eyesight gets far better than it already was (like vampire sight good).

Normally, I can just blink them back to brown. Unfortunately, it would appear the full moon was now too close and my animal was too near to the surface of my consciousness that certain things were uncontrollable.

Shaking my head I tried to ignore my eye color, but it was hard seeing as the three vampires kept staring at me cautiously.

"Woo, alright, sorry about that!" I called with an awkward laugh, bouncing on my heels and toes. "That was embarrassing!"

"What was that?!" Demetri hissed staring at me in shock while the others simply gaped.

I suppose it made sense, as far as I was concerned none of these vampires had ever come across a werewolf before me. Aro had been very clear in explaining that my kind went extinct over 2000 years ago.

Even these three, who were old as dirt, were younger than 2000 years.

"Side effect of the full moon," I explained casually, clapping my hands, "energy burst from the beast within if you will! They happen quite frequently the closer the full moon gets, and seeing as it is in..." my wrist came up, and I stared where a watch might be. Alas, there was nothing there, but I still pretended to look, "two days! Wow, that fast!" I could already feel my sanity slipping away, a delirious, irrational, emotional, unstable, and wild state of mind is normally what I was tossed into so close to the full moon.

"It's just..." I shook my head, aware of the small beads of sweat starting to drip down my head, "so fast! Oh..." a small sob escaped me, "oh they grow up so fast! I don't want to have a kid with Caius—or you for the matter, Felix!"

I was wiping my eyes while the other three slowly looked to each other and then back to themselves. They were staring at me as if I was crazy.

"Uh-huh, uh-huh, okay, glad to know—thank you for sharing that information..." Demetri smiled tightly while Felix nodded along.

Heidi clicked her tongue, "perhaps I should go inform the masters of this recent development?" she gave an even tighter smile than Demetri.

Demetri frantically nodded his head, keeping that damn smile still in place.

"Oh yes, yes—I do think that would be for the better..." he laughed while Felix looked about ready to laugh and cry at the same time.

My breathing was getting heavier and angry tears started blurring my vision. My fists clenched and shook at my sides before I pointed to them accusingly.

"I know those aren't real smiles!" I screamed.

"Mmhmm, well I will go now," Heidi hurried to spit out before rushing off at vampire speeds, the door slamming shut behind her.

"Oh great, leave us alone with the deranged werewolf, why don't you?" Felix spat sarcastically at the now-closed door.

I growled ferociously and the two vampires looked at me while swallowing. They stood next to each other, both shaking their heads.

"Why is it always us who needs to deal with this sort of stuff?"

"I ask myself that every day," Felix responded to his best friend.

"Honestly, I am telling Aro we need a vacation..." Demetri grumbled while I crouched down.

"Tahiti?" Felix suggested.

"You read my mind," Demetri nodded in approval.

With that, I felt my face change into that stupid half-shifted form and I lunged at the two vampires who immediately started screaming and releasing war cries.

"AHHHHHH!"

______________

Oof alright, and after a year the next chapter comes out! I just want to start this with an apology and a big thank you to those who have stuck by this story since it was published. You have no clue how much it means to me, and I am always grateful!

The reason behind my slow updating system now is simply life. Unfortunately, I have been tossed into the world of adulting: so now I have a job and college courses to focus on, but that does not mean my love for writing has gone anywhere. Writing will always be my favorite hobby and these books are my babies, so I do try to update them as much as possible. Life simply doesn't allow it as much as I wish. Of course, if I could make this into a career (just writing books) I would: alas that's not how my reality works :((

Nevertheless, thank you guys so much and I'll try to have the next part out soon! However, if anyone is fluent in Spanish, please DM me as I need a translator for certain parts in this book now. I would use google, but it's not always accurate and I'd rather have someone who can accurately translate the dialogue for me!
