O N E
There really was only one reason as to why Raven returned. Of course, there were her friends, but they were only a small benefit.
She had left for a reason only few knew, and she didn't want to disclose them.
Not now, she didn't.
She had moved to her home country of Azarath for a whole three years, hoping it would get her away from the recent events that caused her to move away in the first place. But after a while, the problem had fizzed away and she decided that Jump City was good for her again.
She was aware of the fact that people change. Some may not even recognize her, she had matured over the past three years; both mentally and physically. But hopefully they still knew who she was.
Returning to Jump didn't prove to be such a dramatic occasion as most people would think it'd be. Nothing had changed. Nothing at all.
Well, nothing she had seen yet.
After getting settled into her house, which hadn't been touched either, she had decided she would surprise her friends at the next day of school.
Her house wasn't too much, it was a simple space. It wasn't big or extra, but hospitable. Most of the time, it was practically empty. Her mother and father were rarely around and she liked it that way.
Jump City was damn crime ridden. It wasn't a very safe place, exactly. But its school system was one of the bests, it had a great landscape, and, besides, Bruce Wayne lived only right outside the city.
To her, though, the best part about Jump City was a certain member of the Wayne family.
He was the spark of an epiphany that lead to a chain reaction of realizations, resulting in her return. All in all, the reason she came back was not her friends—mainly—but rather her green-eyed lover.
And it'd only be a few more hours until they'd be reunited.

No.
No way was this happening.
Impossible.
Sure, it had been three whole years until she last saw him but... just..
No.
He had to remember her. He had to.
He couldn't have just forgotted her so easily.
Could he?
No.
"This will not change me." She thought, "I'm still me. I don't need him."
But a part of her didn't even believe herself. She was genuinely in love with him, he had been most of her thoughts when she was gone.
Seeing him with another girl was something different. She couldn't identify how she felt, because it wasn't something she experienced often, but it was not pleasant.
The thing that angered her most, though, was she couldn't hate his new lover. She was nice and clearly cared for Damian very much.
On the other hand, one would hope that he would remember who she was.
"Damian." She said as she came up to him, "It's me."
"Who the hell are you?" He asked, taking a step back
"It's Raven. Don't you remember me?"
"No."
She nervously chuckled, "You're only joking with me, right? You remember me. I was your first kiss, wasn't I?"
"Get the hell away from me, you delusional imbecile!" He yelled
"Who's your friend, Dami-Wami?" His new girlfriend asked
Well, not necessarily new, that is. She wouldn't know how long they'd been dating, but it looked like they had been together a while.
"She isn't my friend. In fact, she was just leaving." He said
"Hi, I'm Ma-" She said, extending her hand to Raven, but was interrupted by Damian
"We're leaving, beloved." He said sternly and took her by the arm and dragged her away
She bit her lip to keep herself from crying. He used to call her beloved. Nothing was going like she had thought.
Nothing at all.
It was at that moment she realized the emotion she had.
It was jealousy.
Raven usually didn't feel jealous, mostly because she had no reason to.
But this was different. Damian's current girlfriend just seemed too nice. She seemed fragile, but tough at the same time. She hated that she was fragile. All the more reason for Damian to keep her closer to him.
"Oh, god. I'm not turning into one of those girls, am I?" She asked herself and shook the thought away, "I still have my friends."
Her friends Kori and Richard had already graduated a few years ago, moved in together. Maybe they had a child, she wasn't really sure. Garfield and Jaime, on the other hand, were still in their twelfth grade classes with her.
"Raven? Is that you?" A familiar voice called
She turned around to see Garfield running towards her, "Gar?"
He picked her up in a hug, "I've missed you so much!" He said
"Put me down." She commanded, "Now."
He cautiously lowered her, "I'm sorry, I guess I just missed you."
"Never do that again."
"Did you see Damian already? Last I talked to him, he really missed you. Alot."
She inhaled deeply, "Yeah, but I don't want to talk about it. What do you mean 'last you talked'?"
"The four of us..well, Kori is kind of the leader of us and she graduated. Then you moved away and only us three, an--"
"Look, just get to the point."
"We aren't friends anymore."
"What happened?"
"Jaime and Damian got in another fight, he was telling Damian to forget about you and he wasn't losing hope."
"And you?"
"I just didn't want to choose sides."
"Everyone knows you'd choose Jaime, Garfield."
"I know, but I didn't want to lose hope about you either." He hugged her again
"Let go of me."
"Sorry, sorry." He ended the hug, "Why can't you tell me what happened with Damian?"
She bit her lip, "He has a girlfriend and he forgot all about me."
"No way! No way! He has a girlfriend? Oh, this is totally going up on my Twitter!"
"Yeah, thanks for that." She pushed him aside and began to make her way towards the building.
Maybe this was happening.
Maybe she'll need to accept it.
Eventually.
