"Momma!"

I turned around and I saw Hezekiah running towards me. His face was full of chocolate syrup.

"Done eating?" I asked him while wiping the syrup on his face.

"Yes po!" He showed me his big tummy that looks bloated because of the pancakes he ate earlier.

"Pancakes are yummy! I can eat them all day!" He exclaimed exaggeratedly.

Hezekiah was a breath of fresh air. He was my ray of sunshine. He gave life to my dark life when I'm so down. He made my life more meaningful. He saved me from drowning. He is the best thing that happened to me.

"Ninang Avery said that we should go back to the Philippines! I think that's a good idea, momma! I want to meet my four beautiful ninangs!" He was really excited while talking. He's looking at my eyes with happiness written in his face.

He has a captivating eyes just like his father.

"Mama, when I was video calling with my four ninangs, ninang Lallaine mentioned the word 'father' and because of that I wondered about my father's whereabouts." Hezekiah uttered.

"Where is he, Mama? Bakit hindi natin siya kasama po?" His eyes were full of questions

"May pasok ka pa diba anak?" I change the topic because I'm still not ready to face his questions.

Hezekiah was already 5 years old. It's been 6 years since I left the Philippines and him, we went to New York and started a new life with manang. Time was really fast. Parang kahapon lang ang lahat.

"Oh right! Bye, momma, I'll be late for my next online class!" He kissed me on my cheeks and run towards Manang. The only mother figure that I have. Without Manang I will never be a good mother to Hezekiah.

I had a hard time but thanks to my friends, manang and Hezekiah, they saved me from drowning.

I don't want to come back but for you, baby, I will. Let's meet your father, I think this is the right time.
