——————————————————————
LEADER!
•The cat in charge of keeping everything running smoothing.
•They are bound to their Clan by blood and must always put the needs of the majority first.
•There must always be an heir available to succeed them should they become unfit to manage the Clan for any reason.
•There must also always be an advisor to help provide insight and a second opinion on their decisions.
•They have been given the gift of nine lives by AzureClan and their authority is to be respected.
•If for some reason there are no living members of the bloodline left, the Clan will choose a new leader by a majority vote and the chosen cat will go to Moonclaw Cavern to receive AzureClan's approval.
•Leaders are expected to attend the Newmoon Gathering every moon, though if they aren't feeling well they may delegate this task to their advisor.
ADVISOR!
•Provides an extra perspective on decisions that impact the Clan as a whole, and may also take over in the leader's absence.
•They are also responsible for teaching the Clan's heir how to be a responsible leader in preparation for when they take over.
•Unless they are chosen by the majority vote, however, it is unlikely that an advisor will succeed a leader.
•Should an advisor die, retire, or otherwise be unable to perform their duties, a replacement must be chosen before moonhigh.
•Advisors receive advanced battle training from the most experienced warriors of the Clan so they can protect their leader as needed.
•The advisor will always accompany the leader to the Newmoon Gathering.
HEIR!
•Oldest kit or closest blood relative of the current leader training to take over after their reign ends.
•There must always be an heir for the Clan, so should their litter not survive or if the leader cannot have kits for some reason, they may simply choose the next closest living member of the bloodline.
•Should an heir die without an obvious successor, the new inheritant must be chosen before moonhigh.
•It is generally accepted that an heir should, at some point, take a mate, though who and when is entirely up to them.
•The heir does not have to make an appearance at the Newmoon Gathering every moon, and it's up to them whether they attend or not.
DRUIDS!
•Healers of the Clan that also relay the advice or prophecies given to them by AzureClan.
•They are specialised in herbs as well as general medical knowledge, though they are still studying most mental illnesses.
•If a cat in the Clan should be found to suffer from a disability, the druids of the Clan will arrange accommodations for them, and every cat must obey.
•Because the advice given by druids so often comes from AzureClan, their word is considered just as sacred as a leader's.
•Druids stand apart from inner and outer Clan rivalries and are to assist any ailing cat regardless of their origin.
•All druid apprentices are required to at least learn basic battle moves from the warriors for self-defence, and they may ask for more advanced training if they so wish.
•At least one druid is expected to stay behind in camp while the Clan is away at the Newmoon Gathering, but one will always attend.
WARRIORS!
•The hunters and fighters of the Clan that keep all its members protected and fed as well as vote on important decisions.
•Warrior classes are split into three divisions: the senior warriors, regular warriors, and junior warriors.
•An apprentice will automatically be considered a junior warrior upon their naming ceremony, but any warrior can rise in the ranks with time or overachieving somehow.
•Warriors must abide by the warrior code and are eligible to be exiled if they break it.
•In an intense battle, it is up to them to ensure the safety of the queens, kits, and veterans first.
•Although there are no special requirements around hunting, it is generally accepted that one should always try to bring back at least one piece of prey.
•Senior warriors generally take priority, but it is ultimately up to the leader who does and does not join the party for the Newmoon Gathering.
APPRENTICES!
•Cats older than six moons training to become warriors or druids.
•Because they are still young, apprentices are discouraged from leaving the safety of camp without their mentor or another warrior.
•They are, however, now eligible to vote on important Clan matters and participate in meeting discussions.
•Apprentices are highly encouraged to enjoy their apprenticeship and learn as much as they can from it.
•So long as their mentor and the leader agree, apprentices may visit the Newmoon Gathering to meet the other Clans and make friends.
QUEENS!
•Usually mollies nursing kits or expecting them very soon, but permanent queens who simply prefer tending to the nursery aren't unheard of.
•Queens are excused from any and all fighting, but may participate in meetings or hunt as normal if they feel up to it.
•If a queen does not wish to tell who the father of her children is, that is her choice, though this is fairly uncommon.
•It is considered highly dishonorable to attack a queen expecting or otherwise defending kits regardless of her origin, and a cat caught doing so is eligible for immediate exile.
•Queens may request a visit to the Newmoon Gathering if they wish, but are otherwise excused to allow them time to rest.
KITS!
•Youngest members of the Clan that are busy growing up.
•Kits are not allowed to leave the camp alone and may only accompany a warrior under special circumstances.
•Kits will not be made apprentices until they have reached six moons at least, and no cat may harm or neglect a kit under any circumstances.
•They are highly encouraged to keep themselves safe and learn as much as possible about their Clan and the world around them.
•Kits cannot vote and do not get to attend the Newmoon Gathering as they do not have the stamina to make the journey or stay up so late.
•An exception to this rule can be made if the parents are from different Clans and wish for the kits to grow up the other's Clan, in which case the kits may be brought along to make this exchange easier.
VETERANS!
•Oldest members of the Clan that are enjoying retirement.
•Veterans have served their Clan faithfully for many seasons, and have earned the right to rest and have their opinions respected.
•While not quite as frowned upon as attacking a queen or kits, attacking veterans is still considered dishonorable and will be punished.
•They are encouraged to share their wisdom and experience with the youth of the Clan.
•Veterans may vote and hunt exactly as they did as warriors so long as they feel up to doing it.
•Veterans will always attend the Newmoon Gathering unless they are feeling unwell or it is decided the journey would be too dangerous.
