Les Péchés D'un Père [The Sins Of A Father] -Orion Black
Orion black was ashamed of himself. His whole life he had been raised to be lord black and yet when he got his title, he forgot everything he learned and let the house of black fall. He had let his wife rule the household with an iron fist, he had let her overrule and control him, he had let her destroy his family, he had let her hurt his sons.
Orion black was a not a man, no, he was a coward. He was a coward standing silently in the back as he watched his wife use the Unforgivable's on his eldest son, on Sirius, his heir. He was standing silently in the back as he watched his younger son Regulus, cry and beg his wife to stop. He was standing there and silently watching his wife break his sons. And slowly as their cries faded out he was sure he was a bit more broken than before and he knew that he would never forgive himself for letting this happen to them. Never forgive, never forget.
Orion black was in anguish. His eldest son had ran away, had said he hated him, it was all his fault, it was all because he was standing there silently and watching as his wife push his son over the metaphoric edge. All his fault, all because Sirius was a Gryffindor, it was his fault because the eldest black brother was a perfect mix of him and his wife, but had more of him, and although almost no one knew that Orion himself was almost a Gryffindor. Yet he wasn't a Gryffindor, because he wasn't brave.
Orion black longed to be brave. Oh if he was brave, he could finally be a free man if he was, if he was he would have been able to say no to his horrible marriage with Walburga (she was his second cousin for Merlin's sake). Oh how he wished he was brave, maybe if he was he could finally tell his sons, he could finally tell his sons that he was, that he was.........proud of them. Proud that they did something he never could, something he had always wanted to. Despite popular belief Orion had been the one to name Regulus, he had named his son after a star in the Leo constellation, Leo for Lion, he had always hoped this would help bring a little courage to his second born. The secret behind Regulus's name had been something he closely guarded and no one knew it, well no one except for his lover.
Orion black felt guilty. He didn't deserve to be a father, he didn't deserve his sons, he didn't deserve any of the little happiness he had left. He had been so focused on raising his children like true pure bloods, on being too cold, emotionless and uncaring towards his sons, too focused on trying to get away from the darkness in the house by locking himself in his study all day and night (he couldn't stand the sight of Walburga, let alone sleep in the same bed as her, he'd rather kiss Malfoy, thank you very much). He was to busy doing all this that he didn't notice how his younger son suffered.
Orion black was an idiot. Regulus was always the quieter of the two and the more obedient one, perhaps that's why he didn't notice the silent plea of help that shone brightly in his son's eyes, eyes that were so much like his own. Or perhaps that was just an excuse he told himself to lessen the guilt. The guilt of not noticing his son quietly shattering into a million pieces in the background. But we all knew that when he finally would notice it would be too late, too late to save the broken boy, too late to save his son, too late to save his.....dead son, too late to........say sorry.
Orion black felt like he deserved this. He felt as if this was his punishment for all the sins he had committed in his life. For all the abuse and neglect he had let his wife bestow upon his sons. As he sat in his cell in Azkaban, he pondered these things, at the beginning he would also pray to get out here, but he knew it was hopeless so now he prays that he'll still have one son left when he dies ( secretly he hopes his wife is dead too). I mean wanting to get out of Azkaban, who was he kidding, he was probably going to die here, die here all alone.
Orion Black was dead. It was no big surprise when five months after his arrest Orion black was declared dead. He died in his cell (and usually they would just leave the body in there for the new prisoner as a cell mate or if the prisoner was hungry, human flesh was on the menu), but since he was the noble lord of the House of Black the guards had to come in, take the body and sent it to Grimmauld Place for the funeral. And little did anybody know that in a few mere months Orion blacks cell would be occupied again. The person who would occupy this cell would be the man to stay sane in here, he would be innocent, he would be the first to escape this blasted hellhole, he would be none other than.......Sirius Orion Black III.
A/N: So, this was a little rushed and I'm not too upset with this, but I would like it to be better. Since I'm too lazy to write it again you're just going to have to deal with this crappy piece of writing. Anyway I hope you liked it.
