Chapter Six

A/N- can y'all tell I despise the word 'panties'? Also when re-reading my stories, I tend to get all blushy and shit. Is that normal for an author to get gushy over their own stories?

We awoke to screaming. The girls screaming. Lady Dimitrescu quickly got up and hurried as I quickly put pants and a shirt on before following.

When we got to where the screams came from, there were several broken windows and two piles of crumbled pieces. They died too.

Lady Dimitrescu broke down sobbing. I walked over to her, kneeling down beside her as I hugged her. She hugged back, continuing to sob. "I know you're upset. I understand. You have every right to be upset but we need to find who did this." I say, rubbing her back.

Alcina pulls away from the hug and nods, wiping away her tears. "No need to look, I'm right here." A man says. Lady Dimitrescu and I snap our heads towards the doorway. There stood a man, about 6ft, long black hair and grey eyes.

Lady Dimitrescu stood, as did I. "How could you!" Alcina yelled. The man laughed, enraging the Countess more. "Listen, I wasn't trying to kill them. Nor did I know the cold weakened them." He stated. "Are you working for someone?" I ask. The man shakes his head no.

I look around the room and spot a gun. I didn't keep my eyes on it for long, that way he won't suspect anything. "Are you human?" I ask another question. He nods once more. I sneakily make my way over to the gun, point it at him, and shoot. Three times. Head twice, chest once.

The man falls unconscious. Probably dead. Alcina looks over to me, shocked. I looked up at her. "I apologize for taking your kill, as it was rightfully yours because of what he did, however I wasn't going to let him to any more harm." I say.

Lady Dimitrescu smiles proudly at me. She then walks towards the body, slicing him to ribbons, literally. "Wait." I say. She looks at me confused. "Look." I say, pointing to the dagger. The one that could harm her. Or kill her. "That bastard! He was planning to kill me. But how did he know how to get it? Did he know it could harm me greatly?" Lady Dimitrescu questions, mainly to herself.

I sigh. "Let's search the whole castle. Make sure you check even the smallest, tightest, dirty, cramped spaces, just to make sure there aren't more." I say. Lady Dimitrescu nods, quickly slicing the man more and more before walking out.

I follow close behind, helping her check. A few hours later and we checked the whole castle. Top to bottom. No one else was here. We sighed, going back to the previous room.

What was left of the man is still there. Lady Dimitrescu starts to block the broken windows, nailing wood over them. "I suppose I should have done this sooner, to protect my daughters. I just didn't think someone would do such a thing. I also didn't want them to feel trapped and wanted them to be able to see outside." She says, finishing with the last wood piece.

I walk over to her. "Honey, breathe. In and out. What has happened is not your fault. You just wanted your daughters to be able to see outside, especially when they couldn't be outside. That's being a good mother." I say, holding her hand. Lady Dimitrescu looks down at me. "You're right. You're really right, but it hurts. A lot." She says, tears slowly falling down her face.

I hug her. Tightly. "Would you like to take a nap?" I ask. Alcina nods. We walk hand in hand to our room. Instead of my head being on her chest, her head is on my chest. "Goodnight, my love." I say while brushing my fingers through her hair. "Goodnight." She mumbles back, drifting off to sleep.

I kissed her forehead, wrapping my arms around her before drifting off to sleep, holding her close.
