Liz enters the bedroom as Conrad screws two pieces of wood together. She smiles teasingly, "I thought you were supposed to have one of your friends help you."
Conrad looks up and then down again before muttering, "I thought about it and realized it probably didn't need to be a two person job."
"Well, you didn't have to do it right away." She chuckles plopping down on the bed, "You've baby proofing everything all week."
"New year's resolution: No procrastinating." Liz smiles as he stands up and shakes the bassinet. He holds up his hands in victory as it stays steady, "See? It's perfect."
"Bob the Builder in the flesh." She giggles
Conrad smiles as he sets his drill down. He gazes down at her, "You feel okay?"
"I'm tired." Liz sighs, "But aren't I always?"
"You have every reason to be." Conrad says kneeling before her. Liz then grabs his hand and places it on her stomach. A few seconds later, he feels a small kick to his hand.
Liz smiles as he lets out a chuckle, "She's been doing that all day."
"Not too often, I hope."
"Oh, it's often. Kind of scared that means she'll have us running around like chickens with our heads cut off." She says
"Probably." He laughs. He smiles softly as he rubs her belly, "But I can't wait."
Liz smiles then leans forward and kisses him, "Me either."
She cups his cheek and rubs his jaw softly. He purses his lips, "Your mom called."
"What'd she say?"
"She hopes everything's going well. She wishes we'd keep her and your dad more in the loop."
"Yeah, well, I tried that and she became too much in the loop."
"I know." He says, "I told her it was a boundary you had and she should respect it."
"She didn't lose her shit?"
"She sighed, definitely." He says making her laugh, "But it is what it is. She's the reason it's this way. She has to accept it."
"Therapist Connie." She says wrapping her arms around his neck. "Really sexy."
Conrad chuckles before leaning in and kissing her. His hands rubbed her hips before squeezing them and pulling her closer.

It was any day now. There was a set due date, but of course, anything could happen. As much as Liz had her hard times, she was excited. She couldn't wait to meet her daughter and experience motherhood.
The apartment was filled with clothes, diapers, bottles, pacifiers, anything that anyone thought the two would've needed. And the two would forever be grateful. Especially knowing that they had a village whenever they needed.
River and Dakota called pretty much everyday. River sent package after package filled with things for the baby. Didn't matter how much it cost or if they would even need it, but she kept her promise when it came to spoiling her.
They also got check in's from Steven and Laurel. Laurel gave amazing, motherly advice that was much appreciated from Liz. Steven called every once in a while with crazy questions and even crazier research he found.
Liz's parents also called. Liz hadn't answered much besides some text messages here and there. Conrad answered when they couldn't get through to her which he hadn't minded on Liz's end. The last thing he needed was for something they said to stress her out enough to the point of something happening.
Conrad had also been watching her like a hawk. At times, it annoyed her, but she knew deep down he was only worried. And she couldn't lie and say she wasn't nervous because she was. Terrified even.
Today was one of the times when Conrad had been watching her all day. Over the past couple of days, he had been extremely busy with work and hadn't been home much. So, the one day he had off, he used it to watch her.
Liz could feel his eyes boring into her as she sliced up some fruit. She knew how much he wanted to make her sit and he'd wait on her hand and foot, but she had talked to him about how much she hated not being able to do things for herself, so he left her.
"I can feel you staring a hole into me."
"I'm not trying to."
"But you are." She hums
"I could've cut them for you." He says, "You know I would've."
"Yeah, but I wanted to do it myself." She says looking over at him with a smile. He's barely able to smile back at her when Liz gasps.
"Wha-" He's cut off by a splashing sound. The two look down at Liz's feet as water covered them, "Oh my god."
"My water broke." She says shakily. Conrad jumps up and rushes over, "Connie."
"It's okay. It's okay."
"Oh my god." She mutters as he walked her into the living room
"You're okay." He says rushing over to grab her shoes. He kneels down and helps her pull them on before putting on his own. He runs over and grabs the packed they'd pack a little while ago, "Okay, come on, baby. You're okay."
"We have to call everyone."
"I will as soon as we're at the hospital, okay?" He says opening the door for her. He leads her out and shuts the door before leading her to the car. He slowly helps her in, "Deep breaths, okay?"
"Okay." She says
He helps her pull her seatbelt on before shutting the door. He tosses the bag in the back seat as he climbs in on the driver's side. He starts the car and pulls off.

Dakota had just made it home when his phone begins ringing, "God damn it."
He shuts the door and answers, "Hey, Con-"
"Liz's water broke."
"What?" He exclaims grabbing River's attention
"We just made it to the hospital, but she wanted me to call you guys."
"Holy shit, um, alright." He says
"What?" River asks
"Liz's water broke." He responds. River's eyes widen before she rushes off down the hall, "We'll be on our way, alright? You alright?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. She's okay, too. Um, I'm gonna call your parents. I'll talk to you later."
"Yeah." Dakota says, "We'll be on our way. Text me and keep me updated."
"I will. Bye, man."
"Bye." He says hanging up, "River, we gotta go."

Liz looks over as the door opens. Conrad steps in first and holds the door open for River and Dakota. River rushes over, "Oh my god, Liz."
"Hey." She mutters and River hugs her softly
"How are you feeling?" She asks as Dakota leans down and hugs her
"I'm okay." She hums as he pulls away
"I thought your due date wasn't for a couple weeks." Dakota says
"So did I." Liz says holding her hands up
"Did you call Mom?"
"Yeah." She says, "Connie did."
"She said they'd be here soon." Conrad says
"Dad's coming too?" Dakota asks with raised brows
"Supposedly." Liz mutters. The four look over when they hear a knock at the door. Liz and Dakota look to each other, "Speak of the devil."
Conrad walks over and pulls the door open. Megan rushes in with Laurel and Ben behind her, "Oh my god, honey. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Mom." Liz says as Megan pulls her into a hug. When she pulls away, Laurel leans down and hugs her, "Hey, Laur."
"Hey, sweetie." She says before standing upright, "I know it was a little bit earlier than expected, but everything's gonna be okay."
"Yeah, I was literally cutting fruit and I guess that triggered her."
Ben frowned while everyone chuckled, "You were up moving around this close to your due date?"
Liz looks over at him with complete confusion, "Yeah?"
"I'm just saying. You shouldn't have been up unless necessary. Conrad should've been doing that."
Dakota scoffs, "Dad."
"Don't start, please." Liz says, "I wanted to cut my own fruit because I'm an adult and capable. Are you seriously blaming my water breaking on Conrad?"
Ben shakes his head while the room goes quiet. Dakota scratched the back of his head, "Right, well, I'm gonna go get a drink from the vending machine. Want anything, Lizzie?"
"Water, please."
"Gotcha. Conrad?"
"No, I'm good, man."
"Cool." He says before walking into the hallway and muttering to himself, "That was fucking awkward."
