"What?
A small sound escapes Belly's lips, "Liz-"
"No, what did you just say?" Liz squints, "Please, repeat it."
"When I was helping him, I almost kissed him." Belly mutters, "But I didn't."
"And that makes it better?" Liz scoffs, "Belly, what the fuck?"
"I'm so sorry."
"Right. So, then when you said years ago that the crush you had on him was just a crush and you had no feelings for him, that was bullshit, right?" Liz asks with raised brows
"No. No, I really thought I didn't have any feelings for him." She explains, "But everything just came rushing back. And I don't know what I was thinking."
Liz chuckles humorlessly and shakes her head, "You're so full of shit."
"I'm sorry, Liz."
"Your apology doesn't mean anything to me, Belly." Liz snaps, "Did you forget that you're marrying his brother? Or that he's engaged and has been for months now? To me?"
"Yes, I know. I know I fucked up." Belly says as Liz leans on the counter, "I know. Liz, please-"
"No." Liz says shaking her head, "I can't even trust you around my fiancé anymore. Do you know how fucked that is?"
"You can trust me."
"That's actually the last thing I can do." Liz says. She then runs a hand through her hair, "God, Belly, why is it that you think that you can have anything that you want?"
"I don't think that."
"Bullshit." Liz says looking off, "I want nothing to do with you. At all. I don't want to talk to you, I don't want to be near you, and I sure as hell don't want to be at your wedding."
Belly's eyes well up with tears as Liz glares at her. She then turns away and heads upstairs leaving Belly alone.
Liz stops as she enters Conrad's bedroom. The boy was fast asleep with his chest rising and falling with slow, steady breaths. She walks in and sets the water on the bedside table. She looked over at him. Her mind racing with a million and one different questions.
Did he know Belly wanted to kiss him? Did he notice how she was looking at him? Was he thinking about kissing her too?
She trusted him. With everything in her, but her mind wouldn't stop. She walked out of the room, shutting the door softly behind her. She let out a shaky breath as she stood in the hallway. Before she could think any further, she rushed down the stairs and stormed out of the house.

Conrad woke a few hours later. The sun had set and the room was quiet. He looked to his side seeing a bottle of water on his table. He frowns before sitting up slowly. A groan escapes his lips as he sets his feet on the ground.
He looked around the room for any sign of Liz, but was left with nothing. He stands and limps over to his door and pulls it open. He slowly descends down the stairs and enters the kitchen. Belly looks up from her plate and freezes. Conrad doesn't notice as he looks around. Belly clears her throat, "How are you feeling?"
Conrad turns to her and nods, "I'm fine. Have you seen Liz?"
Belly's mouth parts before shutting. She then sighs, "Uh, she's been gone for a couple of hours. She didn't tell me where she was going."
Conrad frowns as he scratches his arm, "That's weird. I think I fell asleep before she came back with my water. Thanks again by the way for helping me."
"No problem." Belly says with a tight lipped smile
"I'm gonna go call her. See where she is." He says turning away. He looks up as the door opens. A smile immediately takes over his face, "Oh, hey. I was just looking for you."
Liz shuts the door behind her and gives him a small smile, "I just went for a walk. Needed some air."
As she steps closer, her eyes land on Belly. Conrad looks down at her and frowns before looking over at Belly, "Everything okay?"
Liz looks up at him as Belly looks away, "Fine."
Conrad could feel the tension practically suffocating the room, but nodded anyway, "Okay. You wanna order some food? I'm starving."
"Yeah." She smiles
"Okay."

There was only three days left before the wedding. Each day that Liz spent in that house, drove her more insane. She had no intention of showing up, but Conrad and Dakota were in the wedding and her mom was attending. And she didn't want to be in California by herself. She only needed to stay three more days.
But each second that went by, made it harder. She hadn't talked to Conrad about the "almost kiss" yet. In all fairness, she didn't think there was anything for him to say. She didn't think he initiated it or even wanted to kiss her at all. She trusted him. It was Belly she didn't trust.
"Fuck! Son of a..."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I was trying to fix the light before everyone got here..."
"Looked a lot easier on... YouTube. Ah." He says turning back to the light, "Think I got it, though. Please don't shock me."
Liz enters the room just as he turns the light on. His hands raise in victory while Belly laughs. Conrad chuckles as he rests his hands on his knees. Liz's jaw clenches as she notices Belly staring at Conrad's scar. He stands and waves her off, "It's gotten a lot better."
"Great." Belly nods. Her eyes flicker over to Liz and she clears her throat, "Um, I'm... I'm gonna go vacuum upstairs, 'cause it's... I'm just gonna..."
"Yeah, I'm gonna do this, down here." He says as Belly walks out
"Jere's gonna be here soon." Belly calls out
Liz steps closer as Conrad continues messing with light switch, "You're gonna blow a fuse."
He looks over at her and smiles, "Thank you for having so much faith in me."
"I do have faith in you." She chuckles, "But you've done it our apartment before."
"That was one time." He mutters looking down at the light switch, "And you told me you wouldn't make fun of me for it."
"I think that grace period has passed. It's fair game now."
Conrad looks toward her with a playful gleam in his eye. He adjust his weight on his foot, "Okay, so then what about after when I fixed it and we couldn't even make it to the-"
Liz lunges forward and covers his mouth, "Stop talking."
"You told me I looked way too hot." He teases though his words were muffled
"You did." She says, "And you told me you wouldn't make fun of me for anymore after you teased for four days after."
"I think that grace period has passed." He mocks as she uncovers his mouth, "It's fair game now."
Liz glares playfully at him, "I hate you."
"Should I have to worry about us not making it to the room this time?" He smiles
"You're the worst." She says with raised brows. His eyes follow her as she walks past him, "The worst."
"I love you, too."
