"Where's Lydia?" Kira asks

"She took it her freshman year." Stiles answers

"Of course she did." Luisa chuckles

Adrian scoffs, "Lucky her."

"Does that mean I could have taken it some other time?" Malia asks

"Malia, you studied harder for this than any of us." Scott says

"Doesn't mean I'm gonna do good."

"Well..." Stiles mutters

"Well, what?"

"It's do well, not good." Luisa winces

"Oh, God!"

"Okay, okay." Stiles says

"You're doing this, because while we're trying not to die, we still need to live. If I survive high school, I'd like to go to college. A good college." Scott encourages

"It's only three hours. We can survive three hours." Kira shrugs

Luisa perks up as Anna passes by them, "Anna."

Anna lets out a small sigh as she turns to the girl. Luisa smiles wide as Anna raises her brows, "Hey."

"Hey." Luisa says, "I've been texting you to check on you with everything going on. I just wanted to make sure you were okay."

"I'm fine."

Luisa frowns, "Are you sure?"

"Yup. Just peachy."

Luisa didn't have to be a genius or a werewolf to recognize that something was wrong. In all the time she had known Anna, the girl had never really been this harsh with her, "Anna, if something is wrong, you can tell me."

"I'm fine. Why would it matter anyway?"

"Of course it matters." Luisa scoffs as she shakes her head, "It always matters."

Anna looks past her toward the others. Her eyes instinctively land on Adrian. She looks down before looking back up to Luisa, "I'm fine."

Luisa doesn't get a chance to respond before Anna is walking away toward the end of the line beside the lockers. She turns back toward the others and slowly makes her way over.

"You okay?" Stiles asks

"That was weird, right?" Luisa asks

"It was a little weird." Adrian mutters

"A little." Stiles nods

"She's probably just on edge because she's on the list." Scott reassures, "These aren't the most normal circumstances."

"Yeah. Yeah, you're probably right." Luisa nods although she didn't even truly believe her own words

"Cell phone in the envelope, Scott. You'll get it back after the test." Ms. Martin says

He drops his cellphone in the bag while Luisa grabs her test booklet before doing the same. She takes a seat beside Stiles with a heavy sigh. Once everyone is seated, the other teacher steps up, "Please do not open the test booklet until you are instructed to do so. This test is two hours and 10 minutes. There will be two 25-minute critical reading sections, two 25-minute math sections and an essay writing portion that will last 30 minutes." He then turns to Ms. Martin, "There are supposed to be two teachers monitoring this exam."

"I know. It's Coach. He's not exactly punctual. Um, let me just try him again." She says before walking out. Luisa looks up at the ceiling and lets out a sigh before looking down at her desk again. She looks over as Stiles waves towards her. He puts up a thumbs up with raised brows silently asking if she was okay. She gives a small smile and nods. Stiles gives a thumbs up again and nods as Ms. Martin walks back in.

"I can't find him, but Mr. Yukimura is upstairs grading papers. Do you want me to try him?" She asks

"We have to start. We can ask for his assistance during the first break. You may now open your test booklets and begin."

•••

It had only been about 45 minutes when Luisa heard a thump behind her.

"Sydney!" Ms. Martin calls out rushing over. She helps Sydney stand, "Are you all right?"

"I'm okay. I just got kind of dizzy."

Ms. Martin stares down at her wrist, "Sydney, how long have you had this?"

"I don't know."

"Ms. Martin, do I need to stop the test?" The other teacher says

"No, um, it's fine. Everybody stay in your seats. I'll, um, be back in a minute. Nobody leaves the room." She says before walking out again

Luisa's eyes trail over to Scott and Stiles. Her brows furrowing at Ms. Martin's strange behavior. She jumps slightly as the sound of Ms. Martin screaming in the hall. The students jump up and rush to the door. They catch the woman locking the main doors before turning to them.

"Back to your seats. Now. Please."

The teens walk back into the classroom while Scott shuts the door behind them.

"I need the number of the CDC. Yes, the Center for Disease Control."

Scott looks up and locks eyes with Anna. Both teens' blood running cold at the woman's words.

Testing had been stopped for the time being while the CDC set up and began testing students. Luisa, Kira, Malia, Stiles, and Adrian were sat together. Luisa finds herself watching Anna who hadn't moved from her desk.

"Bet they're thinking smallpox." Stiles says

"Not likely." The teacher says, "Smallpox was eradicated worldwide in 1979. We've only managed to completely eradicate two viruses in history. The other was rinderpest. It killed cows."

"So we should be comforted by that, right?" Stiles asks. Sarcasm lacing his words.

The man shrugs, "Unless it's something worse."

"Isn't that lovely?" Adrian mutters as the man looks back down at his book

"Whatever it is, they're taking it pretty seriously. They're a lot of cars and trucks out there." Malia says, "Your dad's with them."

"Hey, I should probably call him." Stiles says standing up and heading over to the desk. As he begins digging through for his phone, the man interjects again.

"Don't bother." He says, "They would have shut off any access to all outside communication by now. No cell service, no WiFi. No one starting a panic."

"Well, there goes calling my sister." Luisa sighs

"Looks like we're all just going to have to wait here and see what happens."

He looks back down at his book again as the teens eye him. Adrian leans over toward Luisa, "He's being weird, right?"

"Very."

"Okay, cool, so I'm not imagining it."
