The Markings
Soulmate AU
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY BlueJay659, I HOPE YOU HAD AN AWESOME DAY!!
~
Raven had never understood the marking on her wrist. It confused her. Everyone else's soulmate had something like "You dropped your books" or "You look pretty today". Raven's markings? On her wrist it simply said "And, by the way, I'm better than you as well, witch girl."
Raven didn't think too often about it, but it came across her mind occasionally. In which situation would her supposed "soulmate" say this to her? What kind of egotistical maniac would she be paired up with that that would've been the first thing he, or she, was that?
But Raven decided to disregard those thoughts and focus on the fact that they were supposedly receiving a new team member today.
Raven was called down to the front by Kori to introduce themselves and welcome the new teammate.
The possibility of the new teammate being her soulmate simply didn't come to her mind. She wasn't thinking about that at the moment. She just wanted to get it over with.
Raven made her way to the entrance. She looked at the boy; nice hair, nice eyes, definitely toned, about her age.
She shook her head at her thoughts and continued to watch Kori introduce herself to him. But the boy clearly wasn't having it. He slapped her outstretched hand away from himself with a scowl as he then spoke.
"This 'school' is completely irrelevant and unnecessary to me." He growled. "I'm way more advanced than any of you.. You're an alien princess who's probably had everything handed to you.." He went over to Jaime, "You have a bug on your back. Without it you'd be useless."
Jaime flipped the bird on him, "Who do you think you are?"
To which, Damian's reaction was to simply draw his katana out and hold it against Jaime's neck, "The son of Batman and trained assassin. Who do you think you are?"
Jaime's face went blank. He began to sputter out apologies in fear of him, but Damian gave a satisfied smirk.
Once he faced Garfield he said, "You're green. And stop laughing, I'll behead you without even trying."
Finally, it was Raven's turn. Damian couldn't find any flaws. Looking closely at her, studying her face and behavior, the boy simply settled with..
"And, by the way, I'm better than you too, witch girl."
