I've recently discovered that this story has hit 22k reads. To celebrate, here are some of my absolute favorite things about being a DamiRae stan, author, roleplayer, and artist.

Fᴀɴғɪᴄᴛɪᴏɴs

DamiRae fanfictions are, to my surprise, pretty diverse. I was hesitant to start writing for this ship, thinking that there weren't many original ideas an that it'd all just be angst. I thought that the only plotline there could've been was Trigon's return, therefore I was somewhat late to start writing for them. 

Contrary to what I thought, though, there are so many types of fanfictions. The caught between to choices, Trigon's return, Gotham Academy AU's, need I go on? Personally, I love high school AU's. But I think my own story is the only DamiRae high school AU on Wattpad. Maybe even in general.

Anyways, being a former bbrae stan, I definitely choose DamiRae fics over bbrae. You might think I'm being biased, but I have my reasons.

As we all know, bbrae is way more popular. There are more fics. So many fics that it's to the point where it's difficult to find a bbrae fic that isn't rushed or badly written.

DamiRae being the minor ship, the fics definitely lean more towards quality over quantity. I don't read many fanfictions (I'm on Instagram too much for that, whoops), but when I do I can easily find myself completely engulfed in it and spending up to the whole day reading it. Last time this happened was with kidflashismyfav's She Could Be The One. (Which is definitely a good read, you should check that out if you haven't already.)

Sʜɪᴘᴘᴇʀs

DamiRae shippers are so chill and cool. The Wattpad community is full of immature people, but rarely do I ever see a DamiRae fan get into ship wars. If they do, it's because somebody else instigated something. I appear to be stereotyping but, no, this is just exactly what I've encountered.

They're so chill and easy to get along with. They don't force DamiRae on anyone. They stay in their lane and only get defensive when people don't stay in theirs.

Unlike bbrae shippers, they don't take it personally when people say they don't ship it. Personally, I can see why. It's fairly new and hasn't had too much exposure on anything that isn't the DCAU. They don't make memes about how stupid it is, they don't go around looking for contradicting shippers to bring down. I respect that. A lot.

ᴇxᴘᴏsᴜʀᴇ

I have found that, in DamiRae fics, it's pretty much the same audience. Being a smaller fanbase, it's way easier to become an iconic or well known fanfiction writer.

I like this a lot. I've made a goal for myself when I began writing; to become one of the most popular stories on Wattpad. Or maybe even in general. And I've hit that goal. I'm pretty sure this is the third most read DamiRae story, with 22k reads. (Purple-Rose07 being the first with 40k)

Bbrae is very different. There are so many fanfictions, it's really difficult to become a well known one. I still hit this somehow, though. My bbrae one shots became one of the most popular bbrae stories on here. But it took a loooong while.

ᴠᴇʀᴅɪᴄᴛ
My time writing for DamiRae has been well spent. I enjoy this couple a lot. But it's not just about that. I love every single one of my readers and I consider a lot of you to be friends. The DamiRae community is, by far, the best fanbase I've ever had the privilege and luck to be associated with.
