It was useless for Raven to protest against Kori's demand. What she had said was final. When Kori makes up her mind, there's nothing that would change it. Luckily, she had advised her the day before the two were supposed to head out to the mission. Therefore giving Raven time to prepare, both emotionally and physically.
Raven needed that time. Throughout the entirety of the day, she only conspired about what might come from this. On one hand, they might have made up, possibly resulting in Raven and Damian coming together again. But on the other, they might not hit it off so well and only end up hating each other
But there was no use in thinking about what could happen. It was only a matter of time anyways.

Damian, too, wasn't thrilled about the mission. Raven was his ex girlfriend and going on a mission with her was the last thing he wanted. But, much like Kori, it was useless to protest against Dick.
Damian stood on the roof to wait for Raven. But when he heard Raven approach he turned around and looked at her. "I would like to keep this strictly professional." He stated, crossing his arms across his chest.
"Course you do." Raven mumbled under her breath. Being professional was the reason they had broken up in the first place. Making sure to keep her distance between him and her, she walked to the edge of the building and stretched her hand out. "I'll create a portal there. It's a warehouse.. across the town, correct?"
Damian pulled his grapple gun from his utility belt and shook his head. "You take your own portal. I’ll get there." He said before jumping off the rooftop. He stayed in free fall for a few seconds before grappling off into the city.
Raven rolled her eyes. She watched him in the air for half a second before creating her portal and going through it. Once she was in front of the warehouse that secretly doubled as a villainous base, she crossed her arms and waited for Damian to appear. Which didn't take too long, as after Raven had gotten to the base, Damian arrived.
He landed beside her and holstered his grappling gun. "Have you seen anyone?" He asked.
"We just got here." Raven shook her head, turning to face the door, "I have not. Shall we head inside?"
He nodded, not saying a word, and pressed a button on his mask to trace heat signatures. Damian pushed past her with a bump of their shoulders and walked inside.
Raven rolled her eyes when he pushed her back. Kind of an immature move for him, but it was somewhat hypocritical to think that, as she did make a snarky remark earlier. She then quietly charged her powers up just in case, following him in carefully and her hands emitting a dark aura.
Damian slightly narrowed his eyes as he stalked around the warehouse. "We can split up."
"Course you'd suggest that." She mumbled quietly. She couldn't resist it. She was angry at him, though she usually didn't let it show, so the comment simply came out without any earlier thought.
He looked over at her and furrowed his eyebrows together, "I get it, Raven. We broke up. We were together at one point, but now we're not." He said, "There are more important things to focus on in our lives, so if you don't mind."
"Well, I'm sorry." She replied sarcastically, "There was a time where I was the important thing so excuse me if I'm not at your feet."
"We were young and we were stupid. We need to move on and realize that there are more necessary things in our lives." He narrowed his eyes at her, "And by 'we', I mean you."
"Young and stupid? That's all it was to you? Just us being young and stupid?"
He sighed, "I said I wanted to keep this professional."
"Well, you also said you'd never break my heart, and yet here we are, Damian."
"You're being ridiculous."
"You're being heartless. But who's surprised?"
"Nobody. Did you just figure that out?" He rolled his eyes at her, "I don't even know why Kori and Grayson put us on this stupid mission in the first place. I work better on my own."
"Yeah, I figured that out already. If you work so well by yourself, then why don't you just leave the team?"
"I don't know. Believe me, Raven, I don't know!"
"Then just leave already!"
"Alright, we finish this mission, then I'm leaving this dumb team!"
"That's alright by me!" Raven crossed her arms and glared at him.
"Fine!"
"Fine!"
