A month had already passed since the "incident". Neither if them were over each other. And neither of them were definitely not over it.
A heartbreak was one of the most worst things that could happen to anyone. Putting all your love and trust into a single human being, only for that human being to throw it all away, hurting and even breaking you. Damian had done exactly that.
They were no longer able to look each other in the eyes anymore. In person, she always looked down at the ground while he would stare at her, hoping he'd somehow get her back that way.
He was losing faith, though. He didn't expect her to suddenly fall right back in love with him. He never did. He was in the wrong for not trusting Raven and coming to conclusions.
But, nonetheless, he continued to pursue Raven, writing her love notes and poems. He knew that Raven would get them. Every morning he'd see the note he gave to her that morning poking out of the interior pocket of her cloak. It was nice to know she kept them.
It was nearing their anniversary. Had it not been for Damian's incompetence, this would be half a year together. A milestone that broke her heart at the fact that they ended up not lasting until then.
Damian couldn't take it either. In fact, he was at a worse state than Raven was over this. Today would've marked half a year with the woman of his dreams if he hadn't been so stupid and impulsive. He'd probably just spend all day in bed, mourning what once was. Most likely have one or two crying sessions.
But then, he heard a soft knock against the door. "Damian? It's me." Raven's voice said through the doorway.
He quickly wiped the tears off his face and checked his mirror to see if he looked presentable. Once determining Raven was going to be oblivious to his doings, he called out, "It's open."
She opened the door and entered his room, in her hands was the collection out love notes he had written to her. "These are from you." She laid them down in front of him.
"Well, what do you think of them?"
"I think it was.. sweet, I guess."
"Did they get me anywhere?"
"A little bit." She smiled, but then her face fell, "I really do miss you, Damian."
"I miss you too, you don't have the slightest idea." He shrugged.
"Empath. Yes I do." Raven sighed as she turned around, "I'll be leaving, just wanted to return those."
"Wait, no, Rave." Damian called, "What's stopping us?"
Raven swiveled her head to look back at him before whispering, barely audibly, "Everything, Damian. Everything's stopping us."
