20 Days from Christmas- Feelings

Flashback:

"I am not going crazy. I know what I saw. You promised that the shadow of your filth will never cross these doors. Why did you have to bring her here when you can fuck her all you want outside?" Jungkook woke up to these sounds.

"You are seeing things, old lady. There was no one here."

"This is my house. As long as I am alive no illegitimate desperado shall set one foot here." Jungkook's mother's voice was rising.

"What did you say? This is my house too after I have tolerated you all my life. After I became your servant in marriage. It is my right and I will claim it. I have never loved you. I have lived a life of lies. I have always loved her. And I will take what is rightfully mine." The old man started to tackle the lady and she fell hard against the kitchen counter hitting her head on granite.

"Mom!" Jungkook's mouth left a scream as he ran towards her with tears flowing turbulently.

He saw blood on floor when he gently lifted her and puller her in his lap.

"Honey! Promise me, he will not get a single penny after I die. It is all for you. Take care of your ancestral wealth and Jeon's name. I am so proud of you Son." Tears were flowing from dying old lady's eyes.

His father stood fear-stricken. He did not want to kill her but he accidentally did.

"No Mom! Nothing is happening to you. Please hold on." Jungkook frantically ran taking her in arms and putting her in the car to hospital as she bled all the way. He kept crying and begging God for mercy but it was not bestowed upon him. The only family he had was snatched from him that day.

The mother was separated from her own son and the one she always thought was a family, who she fought for all her life became a cause of her death after breaking her heart cruelly. She did not leave in peace which is what Jungkook most regrets.

He woke up from the nightmare that her mother was in pain. His heart was beating vigorously as he bolted upright, trying to even out his breaths. It was seven in the evening when he peered at the wall clock.

He decided to visit his mother's grave carrying a Ranunculus bouquet. Just when he entered the graveyard he felt the difference of silence between life and death. Looking outside he discovered how everything has two sides. The festivities have the light of the city and the darkness with just silent wails of the dead like an amiable disposition of the living people on the outside and the still storm roaring inside.

It all means that nothing is here to stay. Everything with time deteriorates. Love is something that eases the journey you decide to take.

As he sat on his knees on the moist soil the coldness seeped through his body making him cold. Not because of the weather but for the fact that he was left all alone, without fiber of love in his life. Tears rolled his eyes as he looked at the tombstone and the words shone "A loving mother, My Iron Woman."

"Gone too soon, mom! You have no idea how I miss you. I never thought I would have to see you in shroud. I see a bridge but every time I go through it, like a drunken sailor, I find myself at the same place again. Be my guiding star, Mom!"

"I should have been less selfish. Always asking you to love me. Always asking to guide me. I should have done more for you when you were suffering all alone." He could not speak anymore, his voice broke due to the heavy sobs, thinking of the past.

Clutching the flowers to his chest he cried for hours and at the end, he miraculously felt the peace of mind, like he always did. He felt as if his mother sat with him stroking his hair lovingly and telling him that everything is going to be alright, that his life will turn out beautiful, that he has been that one string of happiness in her life that made it worth her life and salvation.

A buzz from Jimin's text invites his attention from his oneness. He looks at her mother, smiling, who is laying six feet under, and then back at the phone screen.

"I love you, Mom! Thank you." He says as he kisses the tombstone getting up, leaving the flowers sprinkled with his tears behind.

"Hey Jimin! What's up?" He asks Jimin over phone.

"I am not feeling good. If you are not at work would you like to join me at the beach?" He asks.

"Why? Do you feel any pain?" Jungkook asks worriedly.

"I said not feeling good, it could mean I am in a bad mood. I did not say not I am not feeling well. You need to listen."

Jungkook just smiled and got relieved from the gloomy thoughts he was mustering. "I will come to pick you up."

"No, meet me there. I want to walk."

"See you."

"This feels like something. An indication!" Jungkook thinks as he looks back at the graveyard one more time before slowly walking away.

When he arrives at the only beach in town, Jimin was already standing under moon-lit night looking at the grey sky as airy clouds juxtapositioned through the moon replacing the new ones and not stopping, sometimes capturing the light and then releasing it.

Jungkook wanted nothing more than to hug Jimin from behind as gently as he could. He walked slowly towards him. His heart was shuttering. This night seemed special.

It was Jimin who asked Jungkook to accompany him. When someone spends time with you it is the most precious gift. Looking back at the same time, memories are made, the memories which stay with us even if the person leaves. They remind us of how that person touched your life and your heart in so many ways. Good and bad both.

"Time ceases to exist here. The waves lapping back and forth can be so calming." Jimin says as he notices Jungkook also standing beside him looking at the same moon as him.

Jungkook sighs! "Unfold your hands." He asks Jimin who looks at him with expressions of confusion plastered on his face but then he lets his hands down which were earlier crossed against his chest.

"Close your eyes." Jungkook says in a voice so soothing for Jimin's mind and soul. He listens to him as if he is being hypnotized by the man.

"Imagine a dream. A spring field, a playground, mountains, snow, stars, city of angels, fireflies, rain or anything which comes to mind. What do you see?"

"I see a flower garden." Jimin says as his breathing slows down and his mind goes to the void of his imagination where he only sees his desires.

Jungkook gently slides his hand across Jimin's hand to hold it.

"What are you doing there?"

"I am walking." Jimin says slowly, taking considerable pauses after each word.

"Are you happy?"

"I am laughing, looking at the bright heterochromia of flowers and leaves. I am dancing under a tree with my arms stretched, like I have achieved everything I wanted like I have touched the moon. My laugh is not just passing by. It is there to stay." Jimin keeps describing what he says and he abruptly stops.

"Why did you stop?"

Jimin does not say anything. When Jungkook opens his eyes he sees a sobbing man in front of him, whose eyes are closed.

"Jimin?" He calls him. The ethereal man opens his eyes. Under the moon, the glistening eyes gleam their own light.

"What happened?" He asks.

"I am feeling much better now. Thank you." He says with an expressionless face.

"You cry when you feel better? Jungkook asks.

Jimin silently smiles and slowly pulls his hand away from Jungkook's soft grip.

He turns and starts to walk away from Jungkook thinking about what he saw. Jimin's smile had a source. It was Jungkook who was walking behind, adoring him.

"What if I say I have fallen in love with you?" Jungkook yells, who has not moved an inch and is still standing in his place.

Jimin's steps suddenly halt. "It will only hurt you. I am not here to stay. You can't fall in love with me. I can't love you back" Jimin yells back as he turns his head and then silently mumbles, "Even if I want to. I can't love you."

This chapter was an emotional roller coaster for me. I cried.
