ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ᴛᴡᴏ : ɪ ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ᴋɴᴏᴡ, ʙʟᴏɴᴅɪᴇ

Let's do this.

It's the day we are playing Capture the Flag and I'm on the team with Luke. I crack my knuckles, ready to fight. My helmet is secured and my armor is tight.

"Company, move out!" Luke shouts. We start running through the woods. I happen to be with Luke for a few minutes, fighting the opposite team side by side. I get one kid from Ares cabin on the ground.

"We give up," she says. I pull my sword back from her. Luke high-fives me and helps Chris up.
"I wanna move quick. Straight through the woods to their flags," he explains to us.

"Got it, captain," I say. Chris looks skeptical.

"They're gonna cut us off," he explains.

"Annabeth's got a plan. Percy's on it," Luke says, seeing Chris's expression. "When it's time, he's gonna be ready. I know it. Serena, can you go help Annabeth and Percy out? They might need backup." I nod my head, fist-bumping the guys before I go search the woods. I look at my surroundings. I see a dove fluttering around and I start following it. It flies to a ledge, where I hear someone whistling and streaming noises. No way.

"Hello?" I shout. I hear someone scream and I hide. I creep from behind the skinny tree to see a blonde guy fixing his pants. Percy stands in shock. Why is it always Percy I meet at the worst times?

"You didn't see anything, from like-"

"Oh my god, ew! No!" I shout. I take my hand sanitizer and squirt some into his hand.

"Wow, now I smell like Black Cherry Merlot. Fun," Percy says.

"At least you don't smell like piss," I state, shoving the disinfectant back into my pocket. I see the dove flutter over my head and land on my hand.

"Hi, pretty bird!" I exclaim. It suddenly flies away.

"So I was right. All you do is let little birds land on your arm and apply Bath and Body Works stuff on your hands! You do nothing during Capture the Flag!" Percy says. I smirk, pulling out my sword.

"First, I have ADHD. Also, bold statement for someone who's never played and who whipped his dick out to piss in the woods," I mumble. I approach him, my sword getting closer to him each step.

"Okay, I'm sorry. But you don't have to kill me, right?" He asks, pleading.

"I don't know, blondie." All of a sudden, he pulls out his shield and blocks my first slash. It takes him a second to pull his sword out. We start battling. He tries to get my stomach but I block him. I aim for his chest while he ducks. We keep fighting until he falls to the ground, sword right next to him. I pick it up and throw it behind me. My sword is right to his chest now.

"Just cause I'm the daughter of Aphrodite doesn't mean I can't fight." He trembles.

"I'm sorry, please, I promise I'm begging-" I hear footsteps and immediately get off of him. He sits on the log and I run to find Percy's sword I threw. I quickly go back to the tree I was hiding in earlier and see it. Somehow it had fallen downhill. I rush back to where Percy is to see Clarisse.

"Yeah, glory's fine. Revenge is more fun." She takes her spear and slams it on the ground, lighting up the center. I try to find Percy and hand him the sword. He takes it and grabs his shield.

"Clarisse, don't hurt him-"

"Serena, stay out of this," Clarisse says, making one girl try to attack me. I slash swords with her, ducking and jumping out of her way. She accidentally trips to the ground, leading to me taking her sword.

"You give up?" I ask, dropping the sword.

"Yeah, but Clarisse left with the new kid," she explains. I turn to look behind me, seeing that Percy is gone. We follow the path they went down, hearing Clarisse scream like she was stabbed. I rush with the other girl to see what's happening when I see Percy with her spear. Clarisse stands up and tries to grab Percy's armor, but I block her. Suddenly, there are cheers. Luke runs in with a flag and plants it to the ground. Clarisse huffs and runs to the crowd. I smile while watching Luke shout.

"Gotta admit, you did okay I guess," I mutter so only Percy hears.

"Not bad, hero," someone says, startling us. We turn to look behind us. No one. Annabeth pops out of the trees, taking her disappearing hat off.

"Annabeth, if you scare me one more time with the damn-"

"Were you here the whole time?" Percy asks Annabeth, cutting me off.

"Sorry, Serena. And yes," Annabeth replies, acknowledging me.

"You were here the whole time and didn't help us?" Percy exclaims.

"Yes." Annabeth and I laugh quietly.

"Why?" Percy asks, annoyed. Annabeth hesitates and looks at me. I nod.

"Look, she's sorry for this," Annabeth says as I push Percy into the lake. He stumbles back and I try not to laugh at the dumbass. He gasps, glaring at me.

"What is wrong with you!" Percy yells, getting people's attention. I look up at what's floating above him and gasp. He looks at me and follows my gaze. A trident is floating over Percy's head, making him...Oh my god. No way. Percy's the son of Poseidon?!

"Your dad's calling," Annabeth says while smiling. Percy looks around, his eyes meeting mine.

I'm standing in a semi-circle with other demigods. Percy is going on a quest and he has to choose 2 people to go with him.

"The oracle has confirmed what we have expected that this quest will proceed toward the underworld, where you will confront the god who has rebelled against his brothers," Chiron says. "The entrance to Hades domain lies under the city of Los Angeles. I have selected our most compelling candidates." I'm really nervous. Honestly, hes not going to choose me. We practically hate each other. Plus, going on a quest with Percy might be literal hell (get it, since we're going to the underworld? Yeah, maybe being a comedian isn't my talent.)

"Serena." I look at him in confusion.

"Customarily, one waits to at least hear a name or two before choosing. Are you sure you don't want to hear more?" Chiron explains, looking back and forth from me and Percy.

"This thing, Zeus's master bolt, we need to get it back, right?" Percy asks. Chiron agrees. "And if the mission required someone to push me down a flight of stairs for it to succeed, you'd want someone who won't hesitate when they do it." Percy looks away from Chiron and at me. I stand in shock, but proceed to give him a tiny smile. "Plus, she will definitely keep me safe on this quest."

"The first Quest mate shall be Serena Lee." Chiron smiles at me. I turn to look at Clarisse and she gives me an excited grin. I better start packing for this quest.
