Cherish is shocked to see Zara leaning on the wall, close to the stairs. She didn't hide the fact she was shocked and at the same time not shocked to see her, because she had expected her to go in, but knowing the person Zara was, that was a story for the gods.

Ashley had finally left her alone, but not after chanting about things she wasn't interested in, the only thing she needed was a good night sleep, not stare at someone all through like a clown. That wasn't just it, she wasn't comfortable around him, she found it difficult making eye contact with him, you could imagine the situation then.

"You didn't go inside?" Cherish ask immediately she got closer to Zara in a calm tone, although she knew the question was foolish.

"I was waiting for you," Zara responds joining her, while they proceed the their room. "Is Senior Ashley asking you out? Is he your boyfriend?" Zara suddenly asked.

There was a way she sounded, although the question made Cherish wonder why she would think such would happen without her finding out. She always told her things, but the one thing she never mentioned to her, was the fact she was almost raped, although she knew if Zara had pushed the issue further, she would have ended up spilling everything.

"No." Cherish responds immediately, also wondering what made Zara think, someone like Ashley could like her.

"He is very fine, but not nice at all. In fact, his group of friends aren't. Senior Nathan friends aren't nice at all." Zara says in a calm tone, although she sounded too calm and uttered her words slowly, you could tell, whatever she was saying was from the heart.
"Don't let him use you, the same way Nathan used me," Zara concludes looking ahead.

Cherish couldn't believe Zara could finally say such about Nathan, she really liked him, Cherish would have confirmed It as love, but they were just growing teenagers, it was infatuation.

"Senior Xavier has been asking me out," Zara confesses, turning to Cherish who just got more interested in what she was saying. "I don't know how to avoid him again. He is Nathan's friend and all of them in that circle are bad." Zara says her voice calm, more like she was analyzing the situation.

Cherish mouth moves, but found it difficult to utter a word. She only hastens her steps.

"You know the worst part of this, my eyes always meets with his, but he always looks at me like nothing ever happened between us," Zara says calmly. Cherish knew she was referring to Nathan. "Most times I wonder what I ever did wrong."

"Cherish." She halts, meanwhile Zara follows suit. She didn't need to turn around to tell who was talking.

"Zara, please give us a minute." Senior Eva says, in a split second, Zara disappears into the space, leaving Cherish secretly pleading in her heart, not to be left alone with Eva.

Her heart was pounding slowly. She couldn't tell why.

"You and Ashley?" Eva asks with a small smile, meanwhile Cherish swallows hard, taking in her full view, her curly hair packed in a bun, with some curls dropping over her face.

Cherish didn't know what to say, only standing few steps away from her was making her tensed. She had never had this effect beforehand. She was always comfortable with Eva, but not after that kiss.

"Is something going on between you two?" Eva asks, making Cherish more nervous, wondering what gave her that impression.

"No oh!" Cherish says, she couldn't tell what made her suddenly so defensive.

"Cherish, I like you. I am sure you know what that means." Eva says slowly. "I have been trying to figure you out for months, and it's very difficult, that was why I decided to kiss you, to see how you would react." She pauses, looking at a confused Cherish.

"You might not know your sexuality yet but..., "

"It's a sin." Cherish blurts out wondering where she got the courage from.

"Like fornication isn't a sin?" Eva chuckles. "Maybe you haven't discovered yourself yet, I know the effect I have on you," Eva assures, making Cherish blink twice. "How do you feel when I get very close to you, nervous right?" Cherish blinks, her heart beating profusely.

"Those boys would only hurt you. But I would always be here. You know why?" Eva asked slowly.

Even though Cherish didn't respond, she sure wanted to hear what she had next to say.

"Jewel." She takes her head up slowly, only to get kissed very close to her lips, shocked at the same wondering when he joined her, she tries to adjust. Not after looking sideways to be sure, no one had seen them.

Meanwhile, Nathan who noticed this small development chuckles, while he plays with his hair, it wasn't plaited, just packed neatly to the back. She couldn't help but wonder between her hair and his, which was longer.

It's been over two weeks, their friendship had blossomed. They sat together almost every day, since Leo wasn't on his seat, neither Gidi or Muna, she and Nengi had the seats to themselves, although they never spoke. She had stopped talking to him since she and Geraldine weren't talking either.

The only reason she spoke to Nengi was because of Geraldine.

Thinking about them now, she was sure they had left hotel presidential already and boarded a plane. She was sure of that. In few hours they should have arrived at Abuja for the final competition, they had gotten to the finals, which was a huge plus.

This was the third time Nathan was dropping a random peck on her, although they hadn't talked about it. She couldn't even imagine how awkward the situation would be.

She had always liked him, and wished for him to notice her once, now she had him around her, almost every hour. He stopped going for a break and spending it with her in the classroom, they had prep in an empty classroom, where they spoke throughout. She found out things about him. Things that were personal, and the fact he always spoke freely to her, made her always want him around.

Nathan was very easy to interact with, also always sweet. His smile was something she couldn't get off her mind.

"Tolani, abi its Taiwo?" He chuckles, making Jewel smile. Apart from Geraldine, he is another person she had mentioned her native name to when he asked. And he had totally decided to eradicate Jewel from his mouth.

"I told you, it was given by my Grandma, what's on my birth cert is Jewel Jordan." She chuckles.

"Sha, I like the name Tolani." He comments casually, making her smile broaden.

"Do you even have a Yoruba name self?" Jewel asks in an Nigerian accent and lets out a small smile. She watches Nathan nod his head playfully before responding.

"Kinda, that's what my Dad especially calls me. You wouldn't hear Nathan from his mouth." He comments, slowly taking her left hand. This act makes Jewel almost stiff at the body contact.

She swallows hard, while he caresses her hand slowly.

"What's the name?" She asks trying to control her heartbeat, hoping he couldn't hear it, and also keep the conversation going. Although her voice was almost showing effect, by breaking.

"Keshiro, but I prefer being called Kesh." He chuckles. Meanwhile, Jewel releases a small smile.

"I will start calling you Keshiro, If you don't leave Tolani alone." She threatens playful. Making Nathan burst Into laughter.

"Shit! It's past ten, " Nathan laughter Is cut off, immediately his eyes meets with his wristwatch. Jewel was sure they were the only ones in the building now, she was supposed to lock up Hostel B.

Jewel picks up her textbook and turns to him, suddenly feeling tongue-tied, and at the same time ashamed of what she was about to do next.

"What's wrong?" Nathan who noticed her facial expression asks.

"Nothing." She smiles, throwing her face in another direction shyly. She attempts to walk away but suddenly stops.

"Can you please walk me down to my hostel or maybe close. I am scared of walking all alone in the dark." She raps immediately, sure she might not see any student on her way.

Nathan let's out a small laugher, which made her feel very embarrassed.

"You are such a baby. Was that what you were having difficulty saying?"

Geraldine stares at the moving trees and buildings, while the luxurious bus drove with speed, she was tempted to stretch her hand out of the window but thought greatly against it.

It wasn't the first time she was leaving the state, or country, but was the first time she was visiting Abuja. The final competition were always held in Abuja.

Where they get to meet the last school's standing. Funny enough Royal Crest Academy hadn't been disqualified. More like this was a legacy. They always got to finals, and whenever Hilton College met them, they always won, you wouldn't call it winning but flogging, as funny as it sounded. Geraldine was determined at the same time tense.

"Too quiet," Munachi says slowly, directly into her ears.

"Just nervous," Geraldine mutters quietly and calmly.

"Trust me when I say, we are winning this, I never lose," Munachi says with all seriousness. "Come on chill, we are in the capital of Nigeria, lets make the most of it," Munachi says, meanwhile Geraldine lets out a small smile, totally turning in another direction, only to meet both boys watching her, one mouth moving, the other just looking at her.

It was obvious she was the topic, but the fact the look she gave them and also caught them staring, didn't make them bulge, was terrifying.

She throws her face to another direction immediately, Only to meet Ekanem and Rianat whispering things to each other's ears. Wondering when they became best friends. There was nothing she hadn't seen during this trip. She had been forced to spend close to three weeks with people she couldn't stand. Ekanem to be precise, most times she had to restrain herself from letting the urge of beating Ekanem blue and black overshadow her.

Ekanem wasn't the strong type when it came to fighting. Geraldine knew that very well, Ekanem knew Geraldine was always going to beat her up if given the opportunity to. Which made Geraldine wonder what kind of human being she was. She knew this fact but kept on looking for trouble.

Ekanem was very annoying, it takes the grace of God to restrain yourself from scratching her face. Most times Geraldine wondered how people managed to tolerate her because almost everyone in class were her friends. She had even noticed she talked to the snub, and the other boy Leo, like they were lost and found best friends.

"For sure, Mr John is picking her. That's just the plain fact." Leo comments while they both watched her talking with the other girl.

Jayden doesn't utter another word, he only let Leo do the talking as usual, while he did the listening, at the same time watched her talk. Seeing her these past weeks, he had observed that she was a lot similar to Jewel, when it came to keeping to herself, birds of the same feathers would always flock, although she was always around the girl, whose name he had grown to know was Munachi. Even if you never paid attention to anything, that was the name you couldn't stop hearing about, so long as you communicate with Ekanem. The girl was just a drama queen.

She had only related with the other classmates like few times, but he took note of this silent beef between her and Ekanem, it was obvious they always argued and viewed things differently. It was obvious they didn't like each other.

He was only talking about Ekanem, what about him? They hadn't even spoken to each other by mistake, the only thing he saw whenever their eyes met where silent hatred.

"So far as we win, I have no issue." Leo comments. Meanwhile, Jayden almost let his eyes grow wide open, immediately she looked their way.

"Why is she looking at us like that?" Leo suddenly asks in a very slow, yet calm and confused way. Jayden wanted to chuckle at his statement because they were the ones looking her way beforehand, and Leo suddenly acting like she had been the one giving them a creepy look, like she was about to bite their heads off.

"I don't know," Jayden says, at the same time, he noticed her looking away.

Leo suddenly smiles, making Jayden give him a look. Remembering they were on an unfinished topic, before Leo brought out Geraldine's issue from nowhere, in a bid to terminate their conversation.

"Jayden, honestly the look you are giving me is creepy," Leo confirms.

"I haven't said anything yet," Jayden confirms calmly.

"I don't like her that way," Leo confirms, making Jayden give him a look.

"After what I saw yesterday?"

"I was high, besides we haven't had sex before, if that's what you want to hear."

"Why are you explaining to me?" Jayden suddenly asks, wondering why he had been trying so hard to make a point since.

"Because I don't to give you an impression that isn't right," Leo confirms.

"She told me her friend likes you though." Leo suddenly says. Meanwhile, Jayden scoffs. "Really." Leo laughs.

"Abi, she is looking for who will fuck her before we get back to school," Jayden says bluntly, sounding very dry. He knew that was just what the "I like your friend thingy " was all about. Besides he had heard someone saying she was Jason's ex. He rarely had interest in any girl, also the fact she was Jason's ex was another story.

"Woah!" Leo exclaims giving Jayden an amusing look.

"What?" Jayden asks wondering what was up.

"You never fail to shock me every day of your life. You act so innocent, but only God knows the taboo going on in that head of your." Leo confirms.

"We have arrived."

A voice which was recognized as Mr John's voice announces.

Jayden could see the name "Transcorp Hilton" boldly on the building itself. It was indeed a magnificent Hotel.

He slowly absorbed the beauty of the environment, while the driver drives to the parking lot.

Dropping her box on the bed, Geraldine opens up immediately. Meanwhile, Munachi takes in the beauty of the suites. Something she had found hard to believe. Was it actually the federal government sponsoring this quiz competition?

"Gosh, I am starving." Ekanem's annoying voice is heard. Totally cutting Geraldine off, about whatever she wanted to say.

Geraldine slowly wonders which of the bed's she was going to lye on, so far as Ekanem wasn't going to be on it, she was cool.

She wasn't only hungry, but entirely exhausted.

"Mr John said, he is giving us five," Rukky says, picking up her towel.

"Tell him, if I meet him there," Rianat says and laughs. Meanwhile, Geraldine brings out her clothes quietly.

"I can't wait to get back, this is really exhausting me." Racheal comments.

"So far as I get to walk around eat free food and swim, I can spend my entire life here," Ekanem says, her voice loud.

Meanwhile, Geraldine takes her eyes up, just to spare her a glance, before looking away. She couldn't tell why everything about Ekanem did irritate her.

"Leo!" Jayden calls out with a raised eyebrow, meanwhile Leo who had hidden whatever he was holding, expecting to see someone else, suddenly brings it out, at the same time pulling out his lighter.

Jayden gives him a look, before finally opening his mouth to talk.

"Hope you know, this is harmful to your health?" Jayden asks. Meanwhile, Leo chuckles slowly, placing the cigarette on his lips.

"You aren't supposed to be digesting that now," Jayden says sounding odd, meanwhile Leo nods his head, taking a puff, before moving to the toilet door, to lock it.

"It's not weed, I won't get high," Leo says calmly. "My body just needs this." He says calmly, immediately he locks the door, heads to the water closet, and seats on it.

"You don't need to give it so much significance in your life," Jayden says walking down to the sink, with the aim of sprinkling water on his face. "Be careful, these are addictive." He warns. Who was he kidding? Leo was already addicted to that shit. He could see it with how he behaved and handled it. Leo couldn't stay a day without smoking more than once, it was something he had noticed.

At first, he thought them being away would limit it, but it seemed worse. More like Leo came prepared, he couldn't help but wonder where he even got his supplies from. Leo was a big case and a slow poison. You couldn't tell any move he was about to make until he made it. Now he understood why Ekanem always called him a slow poison.

"My mum will kill me." She says, looking like she was going to cry that moment.

She didn't miss the look of satisfaction on his face, which was replaced with a confused look.

She watches the 3rd party slowly, like she could see through her. She didn't miss the irritating look, she threw on her, before walking out.

"God, this can't be happening to me. God, please don't give my enemies reasons to laugh at me." She says dramatically, meanwhile he chuckles closer to her.

She slowly turns to him, the fact he wasn't taking what she said seriously, did get on her nerves.

"You aren't pregnant." She hated the way he sounded so calm. She could feel it.

"I can feel it." She blurts out, meanwhile he burst into laughter.

"Leo, you are fucking stupid." With that, she walks away. She could hear him call her back, but that wasn't her issues. The thought of really being pregnant almost made her burst into tears.
