Geraldine sits still, various thoughts gushing into her head. With how still she sat, it seemed like she was paralyzed or trying to avoid touching something dangerous or disgusting.
But the main reason she was seated the way she was and felt so uncomfortable, even though she didn't know why she suddenly had such a reaction, was because she and Jayden were sharing a row.

The thought of moving and mistakenly making body contacts made her feel awkward. They hadn't exactly spoken after the previous night.

Although it seemed like the night wasn't going to end. Royal Crest Academy students were warm at cool to them, even though it wasn't expected since it was two rival schools. With the way she was stealing glances at the guy whom she had come to know as Deniola Cokers, she had been trying to convince herself, it was just a mere admiration, not a crush.

The same way they found it difficult going to bed the previous night, that was the same way RCA students didn't retire early due to over excitement. And as usual, Ekanem had to show herself. Ekanem did irritate her a whole lot. But when you asked the reason, Geraldine had no answers to give.

The fact he acted like he couldn't remember ignoring her like trash and barely remember he bumped into her and acted like it didn't bother him, made him more irritating, and now seating this close to him, made her feel some sort of ways she couldn't understand.

Also, Munachi was acting strange to her, especially around Leo. Throughout the night and now, she had just jumped to seat with him, leaving her with no choice but to seat on the available seat. Which on a normal day, she expected her to keep a seat.

She felt at home, immediately after they got to the airport, and knowing they were just some kilometres away from their school, made her feel so much at home. She wouldn't deny the fact she had missed the school.

Geraldine pauses immediately her stomach grumbles, at the same time turns to her left, didn't miss Jayden weird and confused look. That moment she felt like burying herself. Did her stomach have to embarrass her in front of him of all person's. She looks away immediately.

He could feel someone behind him, slowly turning around and also trying to avoid getting pushed or hit by the person, he turns around. The next thing that happens, leave him unmoved, with his face displaying a shocked expression.

The fact the milkshake had been emptied on his blazers wasn't the problem, it was the bearer. He just had to seat with her all through the ride, which was the most awkward ride ever. All thanks to the girl Munachi, who just had to jump to seat with Leo. And the fact she had been following him about like a lost puppy since last night, was what he couldn't still understand what was going on. To top it all, he noticed Ekanem had been throwing glances on them, with an angry look on her face, ever since they got on the bus.

Stopping here was really a bad idea. Mr John had finally decided to stop for them to grab lunch, funny enough their school wasn't far from where they were, he saw no need for this, now this worsened the whole thing.

"Really sorry!" She says, stretches her right hand with a handkerchief, which he noticed she weirdly retrieve. He didn't bother to look at her face. He had already had enough of her. He has had to ask himself times without number if this was the same person Jewel wouldn't stop ranting about. Because there was nothing so great about her, apart from the fact she was smart. But also too full of herself.

He slowly takes his eyes up to the sales lady, whom he was waiting for to take his package, since Mr John had paid for everyone already. She seemed busy, he also took note she was packaging more than one, and it was clear, they were both the only ones remaining.

"Really?" She calls out his attention again, there was the way she said it, which made him look in her direction. "Your mouth is for fancy right?" She asks.

Jayden had to blink twice. Someone who happened to spill a drink on him. Now acting all rude and saucy. Crazy people everywhere.

"The last order is for both of your right?" The sales lady suddenly asks, making the environment less tensed.

"Yes!" He heard her respond.

"You?" This time around, the lady was referring to him. He suddenly felt tongue-tied, at such little question.

"Don't bother Miss, he is dumb." The way it rolled out of her mouth so easily, not to talk about the fact it was laced with mockery, made Jayden give Geraldine a look.

That was the only thing that got to his mind that moment.

"Oh my God, I am really sorry." The sales lady says, this time turning to Jayden. Making him wonder if she was for real. "Each package is for the both of you. Is he deaf too?" The sales lady suddenly asks. You could see she looked genuinely sorry. All the while, Jayden doesn't attempt to utter a word.

"Yh, deaf and dumb." She responds throwing a glance at him. The fact Geraldine also looked serious was something else. You wouldn't tell she wasn't telling the truth. She also didn't look like it was a joke to her, so serious. "Thank you!" She says to the lady and picks up both package.

It dawns on Jayden, the package was for the both of them. She was about taking his food away.

"That's for the both of us." Jayden suddenly says. He noticed the sales lady look in their direction immediately. It was obvious she was confused.

"Oh, the dumb finally speaks." She says, pushes the package into his hands roughly, before walking away.

"You are acting like, I was the one who spilt a drink on you." Jayden suddenly blurts out.

"Which I apologised for, but got snubbed." He heard her faintly since she was a distance away.

Jayden stared back at her retreating figure wondering when he snubbed her again. He could feel the sales lady heated gaze on him. It was obvious she was wondering.

Thinking of getting rid of his blazers because he was feeling uncomfortable at the moment, especially with the soaked part with milkshake. He sights Leo engrossed with the same Munachi again.

He starts walking down to where they stood, he could also see Mr John discussing with Ekanem from a distance.

"Really? You that acts like I don't exist in school." He heard Munachi say, although he didn't know what the topic was all about.

"Jayden!" Leo acknowledges him. "Your blazers..., "

"Milkshakes!" Jayden responds.

She leans on the wall, feeling his whole body leaned on her's sensually. The way she felt that moment, like her heart was going to leave her body that instance.

The way he took it slow, made her crave for more. In her wildest dreams, she would never believe she could be hiding in an empty classroom, letting a boy do this to her if she was told earlier on.

The fact it wasn't just any guy, but Nathan! Most times she feels like everything is just a dream. When did this happen? How did he grow from not sparing her a glance at the beginning of the term, to sneaking around? He takes it slow, bitting her lips slowly, at the same time sucking her lower lips, attracting a moan.

These past few days, it's been magical, like she couldn't control what and how she was feeling.

The way she felt that moment, she wanted him to kiss her roughly. She didn't want it slow anymore. She craved for him to kiss her roughly.

He suddenly breaks the kiss, reminding her they were in a classroom, and it would soon break over. Jewel couldn't help but wonder, what would have happened if they were caught.

She takes her eyes downcast immediately he licks his lips, this simple act, send signals to her body.

"What should I get you?" Nathan asks with a small smile. Meanwhile, Jewel takes her eyes up a little bit. "God, are you shy?"

She chuckles.

Jewel, on the other hand, let her eyeballs wander a while, in a shy manner, before totally breaking an eye contact. She chuckles lightly, playing with both fingers.

"Hey?" He demands with a small smile, referring to his previous question.

"Just meat pie!" She responds slowly.

"Only?" Nathan asks. She nods slowly in response, also letting out a shy smile. This simple act makes Nathan chuckle.

"God, don't be a baby. Break will be over in five minutes." He chuckled heading towards the door, meanwhile Jewel leans on the wall, smiling like a little girl being offered a lollipop.

Watching the principal announce the fact they came second in the FGIQC made Geraldine just want to go over to the classroom. She knew how exciting the environment would have been if they bagged the award.

Deep down she blamed herself. If only she had played her cards right. Looking towards another direction her gaze meets with Jayden's, which they both broke immediately, throwing their eyes towards another direction.

"The annual Inter-School debate competition is coming up soon. I am directing this to the SS2 students." The principal says.

Geraldine only stares back, not interested in the new topic, they just got back from failure, and the school was already planning on participating in a debate competition.

Low key she was happy, her class weren't the ones representing.

"The school authorities still wants to use this medium to congratulate every participant on the FGIQC, our able students who represented not just us but the state, struggled till the finals, you all did a great job, you might not have brought back the trophy home, but we all saw what you all did back there. Also, the governor's is awarding our school with some sum of money, for representing the state, and getting to the last stage." The principal finally concludes.

That moment, most of the students start clapping their hands, in no them, everyone starts clapping. Geraldine stands unmoved. She pays attention to everything, also making an eye contact with Ekanem who just creepily stared at her. This made her wonder, how long she had been looking at her. But Ekanem looks away in no time.

"So, every one of you should just retire to your classrooms, no loitering around. Wait for your teachers."

Jewel ties her shoelace, quite sure in no time, her classmates would be in the classroom. Stabbing Assembly and lunchtime, were just what she was learning to do best now. She enjoyed breaking the school rules. It wasn't just fun, but made you feel like you had the power to do whatever you like, and no teacher had control over you.

She knew this was only possible, because they were in the finals, with no seniors to harass them. She was a prefect, she could lie she is on duty, and it was a perfect excuse.

The noise made in the classroom, makes her look up immediately. She had to blink twice.

Was it her eyes or had he just changed in the couple of weeks. He was looking taller, his hair fuller, this gave him a great resemblance with Nathan, which she thought was weird.

"Hey!"

She doesn't utter a word. Meanwhile, he drops his bag on his seat.

"Hey!" She finally responds quietly. Since she got back from mid-term break and he helped her with her sprained ankle, they had just had awkward talks. Which he always initiated.

There is an awkward silence. He lets out a small chuckle, which gradually turns into a smile. This causes Jewel to react, at the same time making an eye contact.

"What?" She asks, her voice rather too calm. You could tell she was very confused by looking at her facial expression.

"A normal person would ask how was your trip?" Leo says slow and calm, obviously picking his words, trying to choose them rightly.

Jewel narrows her eyes a bit. Giving him a look.

"I don't see how that concerns me!" Jewel responds defensively, picking up her pen. Leo chuckles again, this reaction makes her turn to him, at the same time he breaks eye contact with her, smiling at his book this time around.

"The only thing I can think of right now is sharing my seat with you!" Jewel says, she didn't miss Leo turn to her with a raised eyebrow. Which she understood the meaning. It was his position, which he just let her occupy.

He releases a small smile, which makes her totally uncomfortable, clearly wondering what was up with him.

"Nathan, stop!" Ashley says stopping Nathan for attacking Xavier.

"I warned the bastard, " Nathan says struggling with Ashley, while Dashlin holds Xavier who looked raged too.

"He is the one who asked for it, he was begging for it, and my cash..., "

"How many times have I asked you to stop supplying that shit to him? " Nathan asks breathing heavily.

"Wait? He he now does drugs?" Ashley who was hearing this for the first time says, looking shocked.

"Not like what I supply is that bad. Don't you take it too?" Xavier asks holding grudges.

"I am not using it for addiction, that's the difference. Xavier, I swear to God, if you try that shit again. All hell will break loose, between the both of us." Nathan warns breathing heavily. In no time he pulls himself from Ashley roughly, before storming away.

Ashley turns to Xavier slowly, meanwhile Dashlin lets him go. He only gives him a gentle nod.

On getting into Mr John's office, Geraldine pauses. At the same time her brain analyses the whole situation.

"Good morning, Sir!" She greets, slowly turning to Jayden, who just stood at a corner, looking like a harmless fly, which she was damn sure he wasn't.

"Johnsons!" Mr John says clearly referring to her by her surname.

"Yes, Sir!" Geraldine responds anxiously.

"Let's get to business." Mr John says, meanwhile Geraldine fought the urge to spare Jayden another glance. "So the Debate is up, and the topic has to do with your studies. Your capacities are great, would want you to put it in good use, also help out."

All this while Geraldine watches Mr John's mouth move, the only thing she understood there, was helping the SS2 students for the coming debate competition. She had no issue with that, the only issue was her supposed partner, why did they just keep clashing? Which she always wanted to avoid.
