Don_chizzy was the only one who answered it, since there is no one to compete with her, she won the highest price.

It was past bedtime already. You could hear some persons snoring lightly. Geraldine believed everyone was fast asleep. Munachi was no exception because immediately they got back from prep and she laid on the bed, she slept off, it was clear she had a stressful day.

Geraldine couldn't get herself to sleep. She had tried to sleep, but it wasn't coming. She just had various thoughts in her mind, mixed feelings.

She kept playing everything that went on that day over and over again.

Remembering Jason, a small smile escaped her lips. She kept picturing his face, and how silly he could be until an image of someone else got into her head.

Lately, she had been thinking of Jayden, and it was getting out of hand because she always had him on her mind. She understood it before, because he always stepped on her toes, which got on her nerve, and made her always angry at him, thinking about him then was with anger, but since the apology and the fact they had been spending a lot of time together indirectly, because of the debate competition. He always occupied her mind.

She didn't want to admit it, but she spent time fantasising about him, the same way she did with Jason.

She told herself it was a normal thing for a teenager, it was just a mere phase, you go from disliking someone, to tolerating them, fantasizing about them which was crazy, and totally forgotten about them. A theory Geraldine had, even though it sounded absurd.

Even if she tried to deny it, she did chide herself, because for a moment she wanted Jason to kiss her.

This wasn't her, she was changing. And couldn't control it. She had never seen herself as been those girls who throw themselves at boys as she choose to call it.

Was she throwing herself on boys? No, she wasn't, she couldn't help but answer her question.

This was a normal phrase girls her age passes through, it was normal to fantasise about a boy, it didn't mean she was just going to open her legs for him or something.

"Boys" She had to correct herself. It wasn't a boy but boys. The same way she had found herself thinking about Jason unconsciously, that the same way she had been fantasizing about Jayden. She found it difficult to admit it. But what she couldn't understand was, what attracted her to a jerk like Jayden.

Jayden observes Leo closely who seemed deep in thoughts, before turning to his assignment.

Hearing some noise, he looks up only to get a view of Leo struggling with something in his pocket, he needed no one to tell him, what it was. He had gotten used to it already. He only had one thing in mind, which he said immediately.

"We are in the open, anyone can walk into this classroom," Jayden says to Leo who just holds the lighter closely.

"No one has privacy in this school. You can't even yank in peace." Leo says and smiles, making Jayden smile too. For a moment he wanted to tell Leo he was disgusting. But he knew saying that he would be referring to 99.9 per cent of boys their age. He was guilty of that too.

But Leo making a joke with it, was also funny.

"I was trying to this morning, and some junior had to walk in, trust me I really need that out of my system," Leo smirks. Meanwhile, Jayden who found it weird they were actually talking about that smile.

"It's not funny, I had a strong bone..., " Leo suddenly stops making Jayden turn to him, wondering why he stopped. He already knew what he wanted to say. But the way Leo suddenly looked like he was guilty of something made him wonder what had suddenly gone wrong.

"Boys are jerks, assholes, evil, wicked." Jayden recognised the voice immediately. But the fact he had never seen Ekanem this mad before was new.

He noticed Leo adjust for her to join them.

"Do I also call them gold diggers too?" Ekanem asks, meanwhile Leo burst into laughter. Jayden couldn't help but chuckle. Ekanem was a big drama queen.

"It's not funny," Ekanem exclaims while she gets up roughly. "You all are the same, dogs! What is so difficult is sticking to one girl? Idiots." With that she starts walking away, leaving Jayden and Leo shocked and speechless.

"What's wrong with her?" Jayden asks. "Go talk to her!" He says to Leo, because he knew Leo was in the best position to do so.

"Who? Ekanem! Has she slapped you before?" Leo asks with a straight face. Making Jayden give him a confused look.

"I guess not, she has slapped me and it wasn't funny, I no better than chase after her when she is angry. You should if you care so much." Leo says Jayden knew the last statement was clearly a mock.

Jason stares at his reflection in the mirror for a while, he was still finding it difficult to believe she actually slapped him.

He felt angry, but at himself, he could never bring himself to be mad at her.
He was crazy about her, he wanted her, couldn't get enough of her.

He didn't know if this was love, because he was only Inlove with one girl and that was Geraldine. But he just couldn't get his hands off her, he couldn't take it when she was mad at him. He loved her been around.

He loved everything about her, but she was just too toxic, most times she wanted him, most times she didn't, sometimes she didn't want to see him, at times she wanted him only with her.

The truth of the matter was he actually cared about her, he wasn't just there to use her. But he couldn't change her perception of guys, because she once told him, all of them are the same, dogs.

"Hey!" Cherish stands still, she could feel hot air while Ashley stood behind her, she sat on her seat. There was no one in the classroom apart from both of them. Her classmates all went for food and nutrition practical, she wasn't feeling fine. She had to take permission to stay back.

Also noticing Ashley behind her did surprise her.

"Zara said you weren't feeling fine," Ashley says adjusting on her side. Cherish just seat still. "Come on, be free with me, I don't bite," Ashley says, taking her face up, to meet his gaze.

"Are you really scared of me?" He suddenly asks, meanwhile she looks away.

"I can stop talking to you if you aren't comfortable," Ashley says suddenly standing up, it was obvious he was tired of her silent treatment and the look she gave him, more like she was been judgy.

The truth of the matter was she didn't know what to say to him or how to look at his face. Not like she wanted him to stay away.

She watches him walk to the door and suddenly stops, and turns to her direction, the next thing he did shocked her. He burst into laughter, she was confused at first, wondering what was wrong.

"You need to see the look on your face," Ashley says.

Meanwhile, Cherish only smiles.

"There is no way you don't enjoy my company, even if you don't say it. Every girl enjoys it." Ashley smiles.
"The last statement was actually me bragging, tell me you don't like me." Ashley teases joking with her.

Meanwhile, Cherish swallows hard.
She was feeling like her tummy was about to burst at any moment, especially when Ashley touched her neck, like he was checking her temperature.

"Have you gone to the sickbay?" Ashley asks adjusting.

"No." She responds slowly.

"Why?" He asks.

"It's not serious." She says sounding like a child who hated drugs. Ashley only smiles.

They could both hear different footsteps and noise, it was clear her classmates were already on their way back.

Cherish found herself panicking. It felt like they were actually doing something wrong. If there was one thing she didn't want. It was her classmates seeing her this close to the senior prefect. She knew how most of them were, they were very good in misinterpreting something.

If the was something she knew, it was what Senior Ukeme and her friends would do to her, if such rumours gets out. They all knew the head boy and girl were dating, it wasn't something unknown.

"Hope I would see you later today?" Ashley says now getting up, and grabbing one of her cheeks playfully. It seemed like he actually read her mind.

Immediately Jewel walks into the classroom she pauses. The sight she met in the empty classroom got stuck in her head immediately and wasn't going to leave so soon.

Ekanem is very close to Leo, both bodies touching while she whispers something into his ears. He burst into laughter, while Ekanem pulls away from him.

Jewel didn't miss the pangs of jealousy she felt. The sight of Ekanem always irritated her. Seeing her this close to Leo made her mad.

She knew it was silly of her, Leo wasn't her boyfriend. But there was one thing she could never do, it was sharing some particular thing.

They hadn't spoken about it, but the only thing she had done throughout the night was thinking about it. She couldn't just forget it.

Now seeing him this close to another girl, not just any girl, but Ekanem did burn her.

"I was so angry. I would have pulled her by the hair, but as usual, I had to control my temper." Ekanem says meanwhile, Jewel suddenly starts moving, thereby causing some noise.

She noticed they both stopped chuckling. She struggles not to look their way, till she got to her seat. She was almost burying herself.

"I was just so sad." Ekanem suddenly says.

Who cares?

Jewel murmurs to herself, she knew they both couldn't hear her.

"Stop it naw!" Leo says laughing hard, making Jewel wonder what was going on. She couldn't resist it anymore.

Immediately she turned in his direction, she noticed Ekanem's hand buried inside his pocket, more like she was looking for something.

Their eyes locked that moment. She knew he was probably going to act like he did before. Like nothing ever happened between them. Like he didn't even have an idea who she was.
He broke an eye contact immediately and focused on Ekanem.

That did sting. Jewel wasn't going to hide the fact she was on edge. If there was something she couldn't tolerate, it was been disregard. That moment she wanted to walk over to him and give him a hot slap.

She had to hold herself, not to cause unnecessary drama's especially with Ekanem there.

Only God knew she felt like strangling him.

Jewel didn't miss the shock on his face, immediately she barged into the classroom. She noticed him walk in, while she was with Nathan. She just waited for Nathan to leave her as usual, before going over to give him a piece of her mind, but the sight she met, shocked her.

Coughing she tries to cover her nose, meanwhile she noticed him drop what she assumed was a cigarette or something on the floor. She didn't miss how shocked he looked.

Leo smoked?

That was something she asked herself that instant. Been shocked was an understatement, she didn't know what to feel at that moment.

She had never felt so confused in her entire life. She didn't know if she was to stand or walk away, she didn't know what to do

She does the first thing she could think of, walking out.

"Hey, don't do that."

His voice was soft and yet too calm. She couldn't help but turn back to him.

"I know what it looks like. But trust me, I am not a bad guy." Leo says slowly, meanwhile Jewel gives him a reasonable distance.

There is a sudden silence. They both stare into the space.

"About yesterday?"

Jewel turns to him immediately, the look on his face showed he was struggling to look at her face and talk.
Meanwhile, Jewel hugs herself, as she could already feel her heart beating intensely.

"Maybe you regret it, but I don't. Because I like you." He stops now throwing his face away from her. "A whole lot. Maybe I am a j..., "

"I have a boyfriend," Jewel speaks up hastily trying to calm how nervous she was. She had never been this nervous.

That moment Leo gaze meets with hers.

"So I don't have a chance?" Leo asks slowly.

"No, you don't!" Jewel says rapidly. "Sorry I gave you the wrong impression, by letting you kiss me on two occasions, but I love Nathan," Jewel says.

"Two occasions." She heard Leo repeat slowly. "But we can get together right?" He asks, meanwhile Jewel gives him a stern look.

"I mean hang out as friends." Leo corrects himself. Jewel who just stared into the space, suddenly walks down to one of the chairs and sits down.

She knew letting him befriend her would only give rise to what happened yesterday, again and again. Because she hadn't forgotten how it felt when he kissed her.

To the extent she did fantasise about kissing him when Nathan kissed her today, which she found insulting to Nathan.

Geraldine flips through her physics notebook absent-minded, she doesn't pick anything from whatever was written, she just kept flipping through.

"Hey!"

She paused that instant. Not only because she was shocked that someone came this close to her without her notice, but who it was.

"Hi!" She says her voice breaking while she made eye contact. Whatever she was exhibiting, she had only seen it in this cheesy coming of age movie.

"You wanted to say something the other day?" Jayden says joining the chair. She couldn't hide how shocked she was.

"If you aren't comfortable I can move." He suddenly says.
