It was an invitation to Leo's birthday. Ashley should know by now, her Mum rarely lets her go to parties.

That was also the least of her problems now. She just wanted Jayden to get rid of that picture. Another eyes seeing that will not be funny.

The sort of tension he felt at this instance can't be compared to any he had felt beforehand.

It was sort of crazy. Sitting across your girl's friends mum after being caught making out with her.

He got Cherish message about this after her Mum had called. The insane part was she scheduled a meeting in her house.

The worst thing that could happen was his parents finding out about this. The craziest part was how easy it was for them to pass that information to one another.

"What class is she?" She asks again, making Ashley pretty exhausted.

"The only reason I'm talking to you is, because I know even though I ask Cherish to stay away from you, it wouldn't change anything. It might only create a distance between us, whereby she starts lying and keeping secrets, from me. And maybe when I try to correct her the hard way, she might start getting ill thoughts and reminded I am not her birth mother. I don't want the relationship I've tried building over the years to get strained. That's why I'm talking to you instead," She pauses.

"At this age, you kids tend to feel a bit of infatuation which you think is love, trust me it would end soon. I also believe you are in Ss3, you will be leaving the school soon. Writing JAMB. You will go to the university of your choice, in or out of the country. I don't want any form of distraction for that child. Cherish will clock fifteen a few weeks from now. She is still a child. I don't want all this for her. I would appreciate it if you call off everything you have with her." She says shocking the hell out of Ashley.

"Ma!" He calls out.

"I believe you are smart enough. I'm only trying to give you the best advice possible. Maybe in the future, if you both are right for each other, but for now, I don't want that." She says giving him a look.

"Why are you telling me all this?" He asks slowly, quite confused.

"Because you wouldn't like what you will get when next you are caught loitering in my house. My eyes will be on you both, trust me. I can't be played dirty. Her Dad might want to pull her out of Hilton, which I believe might affect her due to a change in school's. But I shouldn't be forced to rethink that. Thanks for coming. My regards to your parents." She says smiling, making Ashley wonder why someone can sound nice, and send such shivers into your skin.

This was Cherish they were talking about. She meant a lot to him. If it were to be someone else, he would have ignored it. But she seemed very serious and ready to go extreme.

He slowly gets up.

"One more thing." She says stopping him. "I would appreciate it if you keep your mouth shut to Cherish. The same way you keep your distance. Because my kids well-being are very important to me. I can always go extreme. Same as going to your parents to ask them to warn you." She says looking grim.

"Ashley, " She suddenly calls out softly. "I want the best for my child. You are older than she is, you should know better. I don't hate you or anything. This was another task she was forced to do because grandma was currently not in town.

The governor had lifted the lockdown, things were supposed to go back to normal from next week. Even though there was no difference in this so-called lockdown and other days.

"Tabitha, get me my wipe," Aaliyah calls out in an authoritative tone, shocking the hell out of Geraldine. And to think Tabitha just rushed at it.

Geraldine watches the drama, while Tabitha gets to wiping Aaliyah's face calmly, meanwhile the photographer takes some shots, which she knew was going to be tagged as unawares.

How she hated, a lot of attention. She wondered how Aaliyah at this age could handle all this attention.

"She is being placed on a diet. Miss Monica says she is gaining unhealthy weight." Tabitha suddenly says, getting Geraldine's attention.

He felt angered by the thought.

"Don't talk about your Aunt Wendy, in that tone. She cares about you." His Dad attacks. It doesn't take Ashley any more time to realize Cherish mum had probably reported to Aunt Wendy, who now told his Dad about it.

"Lee, I don't want any problem. I am begging you with everything dare to you. I don't want any pregnancy scandals. There are other girls, it must not be that little girl. I told you I don't care what you do in your spare time, just know anybody who comes here claiming you got their child pregnant. I will hand you over to them since you said girls are your problem." His Dad says.

Ashley had to hold himself not to laugh. His Dad was serious.

"It's more like a class get together too!" Geraldine says lying through her teeth. It was a birthday party. "It's tomorrow!"

"Gidi!" Her Mum calls out slowly, sounding tired. "If it's about my permission to attend, that's a no from my side. I have this patient, whose surgery is scheduled for tomorrow's.

Someone seeing his impact in this birthday celebration might think, he and the celebrants were even best friends, wouldn't even know they rarely spoke.

"Mummy, they are both attending the same party, you let them go but not me?" Came Jewel's voice.

Meanwhile, Jayden turns to her slowly, wondering how long she had been watching.

"Jewel be very careful. You know I have my reasons, these parties can be dangerous, especially to you girls. It shouldn't seem like I'm doing favouritism. Since you'll with be going together, Jason keep an eye on the both of them." She says.

The sitting room which had been transformed into an exquisite event hall did amaze Ashley.

This night was definitely about having mad fun and getting high.

The way she was acting, it seemed more like they were dating or something. The best friend thingy was just extreme, like Jewel referred to it as.

She suddenly recognises the building as they approached. She wouldn't say she wasn't familiar with it, for someone who had been three thrice.

Although no one was speaking, she slowly turns to her phone, while their drivers looks for a place to park. She could sight some of her classmates outside.

Geraldine applies the nude lipstick. As usual, it was almost natural. She was putting on a short jean crossover, coupled with an Oversized T-shirt long black socks and a black boot. Her hair was packed in a bun, so she lets it down. She was always comfortable in this kind of clothes, although it was one of the outfits, which gave her the tomboy look. But she believed the way she blended this, she could achieve a girlish look.

Picking up the phone, she glanced at the mirror again.

The plan was to attend the party, spend just an hour and start coming home. Her Mum will only be back late at night.

It was simple but unique. He had an ash oversize tee-shirt on, black baggy trousers, a white canvas, and a bag to go with it.
