Tendou watched Ushijima carefully, making sure he was okay. Ushijima had curled up in his lap, deciding he wasn't up for even a movie.

Tendou leaned down. "Ushy…" Tendou rubbed his hair. "You okay there Bub?"

Ushijima sniffed, curling up into a tighter ball.

Tendou rubbed his side. "Do you want anything?"

"No."

"Are you okay?"

"No."

"The bandages itchy?"

"No."

"Are you going to tell me what's wrong?"

Ushijima sat up and rubbed his bandages. He cringed. His hand swept over a dark red blanket next to him before he turned to Tendou. Tendou's eyes looked curious.

Ushijima kept staring, observing. Tendou smiled.

"Ah. You have dimples."

Tendou chuckled. "Mhmm."

Ushijima took Tendou's face into his hands and peered at him. "And freckles."

"Yep."

"Why is it that they're barely visible?"

"Because it's winter."

Ushijima's brows furrowed. "When do they show better then?"

"Spring and summer."

"Mm…" Ushijima felt of Tendou's hair. Nice and soft. Like always.

Tendou watched as Ushijima's sheer curiosity took over and the larger male examined him with such a gentle gaze. Concentrated but very tender.

Ushijima lifted Tendou's hands, examining each finger by gently moving them.

"You know-"

"Shhhh."

Tendou nodded. He leaned back, allowing everything. Ushijima explored the areas of Tendou's hands and face. He gently touched Tendou's calves and rubbed little bruises with care.

He discovered a stick and poke tattoo on Tendou's ankle of a smiley face. He found a birthmark on Tendou's calf and one on his inner thigh.

Tendou gently took his hands and Ushijima laid on his chest. The larger male put his forehead into the crook of Tendou's neck and sighed. Tendou rubbed his hair. "Did that make you feel better?"

Ushijima sat up again and pulled off his shirt. He pulled on Tendou's.

Tendou laughed and took it off. "There we go."

Ushijima looked over Tendou and then rubbed his shoulder gently. He was fascinated by the red head.

"Mm. Well. What'd you find?"

"You have so many freckles."

"Well I'm a red head."

Ushijima sat in Tendou's lap, calm. Tendou could see that he was calm and very collected. He was comfortable. Tendou reached up and held his face. Ushijima gulped.

"You look like you need a good night of sleep."

"Mm." Ushijima put his hand over one of Tendou's. He leaned down and kissed Tendou's cheek.

Tendou "awed" at the gesture. "You're precious."

Ushijima shook his head and wrapped his arms around the red head.

Tendou rubbed his back. He kissed his temple. "You ready to go to sleep Bub?"

"I think so."

"Alright." Tendou moved into more of a laying position.

Ushijima hummed. He yawned and nuzzled into Tendou's neck. "You're very attractive Satori."

"Oh?"

"Very beautiful." Ushijima whispered.

Tendou's eyes widened. He smiled. "Thanks Bub…"

"Mhmm." Ushijima kissed his cheek.

"Aw you're so affectionate today."

Ushijima opened his eyes. "I'm very sorry that I yelled at you."

"It's okay. I realized what was going on." Tendou rubbed his cheek. "It's okay… we all make mistakes."

Ushijima closed his eyes again. He concentrated on Tendou's calm breathing and found himself start to drift off.

Then he started to think again.

Tendou's breathing skipped slightly.

Ushijima startled and opened his eyes. Tendou was crying, still fast asleep.

Ushijima shook him awake, worried. "Satori? Satori why are you crying?"

"H-huh?!" Tendou opened his eyes. He sighed shakily. "Oh for fuck's sake…" He wiped away his tears. "Sorry, sorry. Just gimme a moment."

Ushijima sat up and grabbed tissues from the box next to the bed. He sat Tendou up and cleaned his face. "Are you okay? Did you have a nightmare? Do you have nightmares?"

"A-ah no it's okay. I don't usually cry in my sleep. You don't have to worry about it."

"If it rarely happens then you need to be taken care of." Ushijima got up. "Stay there."

Tendou sighed. He looked over at the tank where Flip was leisurely swimming. He chuckled.

Ushijima came into the room and gave Tendou a glass of water. He wrapped him in the safety blanket next to them. Tendou smiled. "Is that more comfortable?"

"Mhmm. Thanks Bub."

Ushijima looked over him, worried. He put Tendou in his lap and held him, making sure he felt safe and calm. When Tendou fell asleep it was alright, he was just laid down and covered up.

Ushijima just picked up a book and popped his necklace in his mouth, deciding to read.

"Someone needs a nap." Tendou stated, walking up to Ushijima.

The brunette looked up from his puzzle. "Huh?"

"You need a nap. Come on."

Ushijima huffed. "No."

"Yes. Either that or I'm climbing on top of the dresser and staying up there. Again."

Ushijima got up. "Fine."

Tendou chuckled. "Come on it's a nap. Not anything bad."

"I'm not tired at all though."

Tendou huffed. "Alright. What do you want to do?"

"My puzzle?"

Tendou sighed. "Fine."

Ushijima looked him over. "Ah. You're disappointed because you want to spend time with me. Please don't be. I would enjoy takin a nap but I'm not tired." Ushijima took Tendou's chin into his palm to get him to look at him.

Tendou looked away. He knew he couldn't try and force Ushijima to love on him when he wanted attention. He knew Ushijima's mind didn't work like his.

Ushijima let go for a moment. He bit a nail. "Um… I don't have the best ideas about relationship. All of this is very new to me. I don't mean to hurt you if I do."

Tendou shrugged. "It's fine."

"Satori… please take this seriously a lot confuses me. I don't want to hurt you."

"You aren't. I'm trying to find out what to do as we go along."

Ushijima hummed.

"I'll just figure out what-"

"Would you like to help me with my puzzle?" Ushijima blurted.

"Oh?" Tendou smiled. "Yeah! That sounds great!"

Ushijima nodded. He sat back down and pulled Tendou next to him. Tendou looked over the puzzle. "I started the edges but I need to keep going. Can you start on the right side?"

"Of course Bub." Tendou started, going quiet.

This was nice.

Calm and safe.

Ushijima glanced down and saw Tendou fidgeting with his pant leg. Ushijima slipped his hand into Tendou's before lifting it up and kissing the back of his hand. "It's going to be a ballet dancer."

"That's great."

"Mhmm."

"You wanna see me dance?"

"We should dance some time." Ushijima smiled. "It would be fun."

"Aw. Yeah it would." Tendou put his head against Ushijima's shoulder. He relaxed as he kept helping with the puzzle.

After some time Ushijima noticed Tendou had stopped doing the puzzle and looked down. Tendou had passed out, smiling faintly. Ushijima kissed the top of his head and put Tendou against his chest. "Sleep well Satori."
