"Shit." Kie mumbles

"Kiara, you find anything yet?" Pope yells

"Yeah, do you guys see the gun?" JJ says

Kie sighs, "Nothing."

"It's probably at the bottom of the catch basin." Pope says making Estrella groan

She grunts as she crawls down into the water finally making it through the drain. Kie following behind her making sure she keeps her head above the water. The girls sit up as they look around. Estrella looks up at toward the manhole as they stand up.

JJ sets the crow bar down before turning to Pope, "All right, bro, I see you vibing on Kie, okay? Give me the details. Are we talking first base, second base, third base?"

"Try not even in the same ballpark."

"What do you mean by that?"

"It's like we're not playing the same game."

Estrella and Kie decided to get down and try to feel for the gun. Luckily for Estrella, she hadn't touched anything besides cans and bottles.

Kie sighs as she picks up a can before tossing it, "People are so shitty."

"The other night, we're-" Pope trails off

"Okay." JJ says

"She was all over me."

"All right."

"And..."

"Good start."

"But she was wasted, so it doesn't really count." Pope says, "I tried to be edgy, out-there Pope, and she didn't like that. So I tried to be straitlaced Pope. She didn't like that."

"I understand!" JJ exclaims as he sees Pope become worked up

"So I don't know what to do."

"Pope," He says holding his shoulders, "think. I know you can do that, all right? Like, light some candles. Put on some Otis Redding. Yeah. That would work. Or " JJ pats his chest, "play guitar."

"I can't play guitar. I can't do any of those things." JJ chuckles as he shakes his head. Pope clears his throat, "What about you and Estrella?"

JJ's face falls, "What about us?"

"Have you guys talked at all?"

JJ scoffs, "No. She can barely look at me."

"Why don't you just try?" Pope says. Before JJ can answer, they hear Kie call out to them. Estrella looks over as Kie chuckles, "Guys, I think I found something. Ugh, gross."

"Wait, you got it?" JJ yells

"Is it the gun?" Pope yells

The girls eyes widen as Kie pulls up what look liked a body part. Estrella immediately backing away as Kie pushed it away, splashing the water.

"Pope! Pope! Oh my God!" Kie yells

"You guys, there's something dead in here!" Estrella yells

"Is it-" JJ starts

"Like a person?" Pope asks

Kie screams, "Oh my God! There's something dead. I repeat..."

"Like a person?"

"We don't know, Pope. We just know there's something dead in here!" Estrella yells

"Guys, don't touch it. That's how you get worms." JJ says

"Did you find the gun? Is it Gavin?" Pope asks

"What is it? Is it Gavin?"

"Don't touch it!"

"Is it a gun? Do you see the gun, guys?" JJ asks, "Do you see anything?"

"You guys owe us for life!" Kie yells

"What if Ward put Gavin in the sewer, dude?" JJ says as he stands up

"Hold on." Pope says

"That makes so much sense."

As Kie freaks out, Estrella stands up. She notices the water starting to rise, "Kie, the water." She says. The girl turns as waves starts to flow.

"Do you hear that?" Pope says to JJ

"What?" He says before getting down

"Listen."

"Oh, shit." Estrella says, "Guys?"

"Guys, the water!" Kie yells

"Shit!" Pope says, "Kiara, Estrella, get out of there now!"

Estrella gasps as more water comes rushing toward them. Kie groans, "We don't have time! Guys!"

"Shit!"

"Oh no!" Kie yells as she tries to turn her face away from the water. Estrella feels something hard hit her ankle. She quickly bends down waving her hand around for it. She feels her fingers hit the metal of what she knew was a gun. She takes it and puts it behind her back in her waist band.

She then begins climbing up the ladder, "Kie, come on." The girl looks up to her before climbing up after her. Estrella keeps climbing.

"Shit." Pope yells as he and JJ turn to each other, "Kie!"

"Estrella!"

The girls couldn't hear them as more water fills the drain. Estrella breathes heavy as she climbs the ladder.

"Estrella!" Kie yells. The girl immediately turning back as her friend struggles to climb. She steps down as she reaches for her, "Grab my hand!"

Kie takes her hand, both girls groaning as Estrella pulls her up. The girls make their way to the top of the ladder as the water keeps filling up. Estrella makes it first. She hits the cover as she yells, "Guys!"

She looks down to Kie seeing that the water had reached her waist. She grabs her hand as she tries scooting over, "Come up, Kie."

Kie holds onto her arm tight as the two hold onto the ladder with one arm and begin hitting the cover with the other, "Please! Pope! Guys!"

"Help! We're over here!" Estrella yells

"Estrella!" Pope yells as the boys run over to the drain

"Kie!"

"Come on!"

"Kie, we're coming!"

"Hey, guys! We're over here!" Kie yells as she pokes her fingers through the cover, "The water is coming up!"

"Kiara!" Pope says as the boys bend down

"Estrella!"

"Pull! Pull it!" Estrella yells. The boys begin pulling as the girls start pushing.

"Getting close! Pull! Pull!" Pope says

"Hurry! Hurry!" Kie yells as the water starts to pass their chest,. "Pope. Pope! Please! Please!"

"We'll get you out of there. I promise." Pope says as JJ takes out his pocket knife, "Come on. Come on."

"JJ! Please." Estrella cries. JJ grunts as he tries to get the cover off, "Pope!"

"Shit!" Pope groans as JJ knife breaks. They immediately start to pull again.

"JJ!" Estrella says right before the water passes their heads. The water touching the boys hands as they keep pulling.

"I know, Star." JJ says to himself, "Come on!"

"Come on! Come on!"

They both groan as the cover begins to loosen. Both girls trying to hold on for as long as they could. They immediately push up as the cover comes off. The boys falling back as they toss the cover. The girls gasp as they come up for air. Kie pushing up and leaning on the ground as she coughed.

Estrella pushing herself up and completely out of the drain as she laid back looking up at the sky. JJ immediately crawls over, "Are you okay?" Estrella nods before she begins coughing. JJ sits her up and turns her to face the ground.

"Kiara." Pope says, "Are you okay?" Kie coughs intensely as Pope starts to hug her, "I thought we lost you."

"Pope, get off me. Pope, get off me!" She says as she pushes him away. She keeps coughing as Estrella begins to stand up.

"Kie, you good?" JJ asks trying to keep his eye on Estrella

"Never better." Kie says as she holds a thumbs up

Estrella breathes heavily before reaching behind her, "This wasn't what we were looking for, right?"

JJ laughs and Pope smiles as Estrella holds the gun up. He pulls his bandana out as he takes the gun from her, "Oh my God."

"Holy shit." Pope says as Kie chuckles

"Oh my God." JJ says, "We're gonna get this son of a bitch, man."

"Let's go, Kie." Pope says as he helps her stand up. He then turns to Estrella, "Good job."

"Yeah." She smiles

"You did it, Star. You did it." JJ says as he pulls the girl in for a hug, "Come on." The girl is enveloped by Kie and Pope as they hold onto each other for a group hug.

"Let's get this to Shoupe." Pope says

"Let's get this to Shoupe." JJ repeats

"Okay." Kie breathes
