Kie, Estrella, and JJ walk slowly along the wall. Kie peeks around the corner.

"Clear." JJ says. The three quickly run across, but Estrella and Kie stop as they come face to face with a crew member. JJ peeks over the boat.

"I don't see him."

"Jay." Estrella says as he finally sees the man. The crew member pulls out his knife.

"Of course. There's more of you. Get down on your knees."

"Yeah, that's not gonna happen." JJ says quickly ducking as the man swings at him

"Go, go, go!" Kie says as the man swings again. She and Kie hold the man's arm against the wall as JJ stands up.

JJ punches him before grabbing his shoulder, "Hit him, Kie!"

Kie swings a door open knocking the man down.

"Where's John B?"

Kie runs over to the edge of the boat, "John B!"

Cleo and Charlotte hold onto the rope as Pope guides the cross to the edge of the boat.

"Hey, Pope, move it more that way." Cleo yells, "Over the water."

"I'm moving it."

"Come on! To the right more! All right!"

The man swings the knife again at JJ who ducks and falls back. Estrella runs up behind the man as he charges at Kie.

"Kie!" JJ yells as the girl turns. He swings at Kie, but Estrella pushes him. The man turns to hit Estrella, but JJ jumps up and grabs his arm.

JJ and the man struggle before he elbows JJ in the chest. The man swings to hit Kie, but she ducks. Estrella could sense that the man's arm wasn't going to stop so she ducked away. She hears a groan as the man's arm swings around and the end of the knife hits JJ in the face sending him overboard.

"JJ!" Estrella screams before immediately jumping in after him

Kie groans as she kicks the man in his stomach sending him to the ground, "JJ!"

Estrella gasps as she comes up out of the water. Her head whips around to find JJ face down in the water. He had yet to move. She quickly swims over and grabs him turning him over.

"Jay!" She says as she wraps her around his waist, "JJ!"

Estrella hadn't noticed Kie jump in until the girl comes around to hold his other side. Estrella taps JJ's cheek, "JJ! Jay, stay with me. Jay, please. Please!"

Kie looks around for any sign of John B and the life boat. Estrella's hold tightens on JJ's waist, "JJ!" She cries

"Hey, get down! Get out of there!" Cleo yells as she and Charlotte hold the rope to the cross. Crew members had caught up to Pope and were now shooting at him.

"Drop the line." Pope yells

"Why?" Charlotte yells

"We're pinched. Just do it."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Drop it."

"Okay. Fine." Cleo grunts as she and Charlotte drop the line. The girls watch as Pope presses a button before the crane releases the cross into the water. They duck down as another shot is fired.

"Get down here!" Charlotte yells, "Come on!"

Pope climbs out of the opening before jumping down just as a crew member makes it up the ladder.

"We gotta go! We gotta go!" Cleo yells, "Let's go, P."

The three run and jump off the boat as another shot is fired at them. Charlotte comes up first with a gasp. Cleo and Pope coming up next.

"Are you okay?" Pope asks

"Yeah." Both girls answer

The three whip their heads around hearing the crew members shouts. They notice them trying to pull the cross out of the water.

"No. No!" Pope yells, "Hey! No!"

"Damn it." Charlotte yells

"No." Cleo says

"Pope!"

The boy turns as John B and Sarah come over in the lifeboat, "Hey! We're over here."

"We're over here!" Charlotte yells waving her arms. The three swim over to the boat. Sarah and John B help them in

"Oh my God."

"I got you." John B says helping Pope in. He then reaches over and pulls Charlotte in.

"Cleo. Holy shit." Sarah says, "I got you. I got you. Come on. Guys, help."

Pope pants as he walks over and helps Sarah pull Cleo in.

"Cleo."

"Long time no see, girl." Cleo says

"What are you doing here?"

"Where's Jay, Estrella, and Kie?" John B asks

"I thought they were with you." Pope says

Sarah shakes her head, "No."

"Shit. We gotta find them, all right?" John B says

"Last time I saw them was on the other side of the ship." Cleo says

"JJ, please, stay with me!" Estrella cries, "Stay with me. John B's coming. John B's coming, okay?"

"Estrella." Kie pants, "I can't hold him."

"No, Kie, please. Just a little longer please." Estrella pleads before she looks around, "John B! Help!"

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Kie breathes

"No, Kie!" Estrella says bringing her arm around to tap the girl's arm. She gasps as water splashes over her face, "Kie, they're coming. They're coming, JJ. They're coming. Pope! John B!"

"Hey!" She hears. Estrella looks around frantically and spots the boat filled with her friends

"Kie! They're right there." She reassures, "Help!"

"JJ!" They yell as they get closer and notice his unconscious body

"Oh my God!"

"JJ!" John B yells as they finally make it to them, "No! No! No! No! No!"

"JJ! JJ!"

"Come on. Come on." Pope says, "I got you."

"Grab him." Estrella says to John B. John B grunts as he pulls him in, "Pope, take Kie!"

She grabs the girl and helps Pope pull her in. Kie pants as she sits on the boat.

"Come on." John B says while Estrella takes his arm.

As soon as Estrella makes it in, she stumbles over to JJ, "Jay."

John B starts the boat up as Estrella sits beside JJ. The teens thought they had finally gotten away from the boat before sputtering is heard and the boat stops.

Charlotte looks up wide eyed, "What happened?"

"No. No. No. Hey." John B mumbles as he rushes over to the engine

"What's going on?" Kie says

"What's happening?"

"John B." Sarah says

"We're stalling out." John B says

"You serious? We're sitting ducks." Pope says

"We gotta go!" Kie yells

"We gotta go."

"I'm trying. Forward or backward?" John B says pulling the string causing the engine to sputter, "If everyone just tries to relax."

"He's pointing at us." Pope says. Estrella looks up to the boat noticing Rafe pointing a gun at them, "Hurry!"

"We gotta go."

"I'm trying, okay?" John B says

Estrella looks down to JJ as John B pulls the string again, "Please wake up."

"We gotta get moving." Pope says just as the engine starts up, "Yeah! Go!"

"Go!" Sarah says as the boat begins to move again pulling them further and further away from Rafe.

"JJ, wake up!" Estrella says shaking his shoulder. Everyone's attention was now on JJ, "Jay! Please! Please!"

"Wake up." John B says

"Please get up!" Estrella cries

"You gotta wake up."

"Get up, Jay, please! I can't-"

JJ jumps up coughing roughly. Estrella gasps quickly turning him over on his side.

"There you go Yeah, yeah." John B says, "Cough it out. Cough it out, baby."

"Hey, buddy, there you go." Pope says

"Hey. Hey, buddy." John B says, "Welcome to the land of the living, dude. No CPR needed, huh?"

Estrella places her hand on his shoulder turning him to her. JJ looks down at her hand, "Hey. You okay ?"

"Sup?" JJ smirks making the others laugh. Estrella smiles pushing his face away playfully.

"Dude!" Pope says as Estrella wraps her arm around him pulling him to her chest. JJ doesn't hesitate to lazily wrap an arm around her waist.

"Just always looking for attention, huh?" John B jokes

"Whatever it takes, right?" JJ says as Estrella pulls away

"Attaboy!"

"What the hell happened?" JJ says touching the wound on his head. Estrella takes a piece of cloth laying on the boat and holds it to his head.

"The blunt end of a machete." She says

"Machete?" JJ says wide eyed as he sits up

"The blunt end."

"Next time, duck." Cleo says

"I'll try to remember that next time. Thanks." JJ replies sarcastically

Pope looks off to the boat as the crew members work to pull the cross back onto the boat.

"This shit ain't over."

John B shakes his head, "No, it ain't."

After a few hours of letting the water pull them out, the teens finally made it to land. The boys pull the boat onto land as the girls sit near some trees. Estrella looks up as the boys walk over.

"Good job, guys." Sarah says

"Good job." Kie says

"Whoa." JJ mumbles

"JJ, you all right there, buddy?" John B asks

"Yeah. Still a little dizzy." JJ says as John B sits beside Sarah, "Okay, anybody know where we're at?"

"Deserted beach. Unknown island." Pope says taking a seat beside Cleo

"All right, I'll take that as a no." JJ says standing by a tree next to Estrella, "Plan A, huh, Pope? That went well."

"This is the lowest we can go." Pope says, "We literally have nothing else to lose. The cross, gone."

"The gold, gone." Sarah adds

"Seriously, if we had a nickel for every time we got beat up, I'd say we're at a dollar fifty." JJ says

"That's more than I got on me." Kie says

"That somehow doesn't make me feel better." Sarah says

"Yeah, you're right. But, I mean, we've..." John B says, "We've had some good stuff happen, right?"

"Name something." Pope says

"Um... Uh, the boiler room." John B says turning to Cleo, "What? If the boiler didn't explode, I wouldn't have gotten away from Rafe. I couldn't have gotten the Zodiac and gotten us out of here."

"That wasn't luck." Cleo says shaking her head, "That thing was gonna blow the second I stopped feeding it."

"Stealing my thunder, Cleo. Um..."

"Sorry."

"Okay." John B nods, "Pope, you're related to Denmark Tanny. That's crazy."

"And I lost all his inheritance." Pope interjects. Estrella's brows raise before she looks out to the water.

"You know what?" John B says standing up, "Guys, this is it. This is the Pogue life. We are in the Caribbean. It's our own little slice of paradise. With my best friends, with my family. I don't know. I wouldn't wanna do it with anyone else. Look, and while you guys were complaining about every little thing..." He says walking over to JJ, "JJ?"

"Hmm?" He mumbles sticking his knife in the tree

"I was looking at those burly lefts." John B points

"There's some slabs out there."

"Just a few." John B says before turning to Kie, "Kie, see that? I know you wanna get out."

"No boards."

"Well, we can bodysurf till we make some boards."

"Lame." Kie says making Charlotte giggle

"Pope? Come on, man." John B says walking over

"They do look pretty tasty."

"Oh, yes, they do."

"There's nobody around. We could squat here for a bit." Pope says standing beside John B, "Kind of belongs to us now, huh?"

"You got a point."

"Eight-way split?" Pope says as he does the handshake with John B

JJ looks down to Estrella who hadn't said much since they left the boat. She looks up feeling his eyes on her, "Poguelandia."

Estrella furrows her brows at his accent, but can't help the smile from spreading on her face.

"Oh boy." John B says

"I claim thee Poguelandia." He says in his accent before nodding, "I like the ring of it. I'm gonna make a flag. It's gonna have a chicken on it. With a coconut bra, smoking a J..."

The girls laugh as he looks down at Estrella, "...in Crocs."

"I could use a J." Estrella sighs

"Can we vote?" Sarah says

"Shall we get to work?" Pope says

"Let's get to work." John B nods, "Let's start working on provisions. Set up shop."

He then walks up to Sarah, "Sarah. Till death do us part?"

Sarah smiles, "Till death do us part."

"Welcome back to the Pogue life." He says helping her up

"Full Pogue."

"Full Pogue. Ooh."

Pope helps Cleo stand, "Welcome to the Pogues."

"Thanks."

"Going full Pogue." Kie says as she stands. She turns to Charlotte and helps her stand up. Charlotte smiles as Kie lets go of her hand.

"Full Pogue?" Charlotte questions. Kie laughs as the two walk over toward Cleo and Pope.

"Star?" JJ says. Estrella looks up to him as he holds his hand out. She takes it before he pulls her up. She looks up at him as he holds her hand.

"I guess we can get a little taste of that surf trip, huh?"

"Just a little." JJ shrugs. Estrella looks down at their hands before looking back up at JJ again. The boy's smile had now turned into a smirk.

Estrella rolls her eyes playfully as she pulls her hand away. As she walks off, JJ comes up next to her and wraps his arm around her shoulders. John B comes up beside him and does the same. His own smirk covering his features.

"We should talk about that." He says pointing to JJ's arm on Estrella

"I just want water." JJ says. Estrella chuckles as she shrugs JJ's arm off shaking her head.
