John B ended up bringing the Twinkie around, so JJ could use the shovel to bury the casket. He pats the dirt a few times with the shovel before standing up straight and leaning it against the tree.

"I just don't get it." Pope says, "I mean, you guys saw the map. He hides his gold so no one finds it for years. And then he sends a message to his son Robert to come here to his mother's grave, but the message never gets to him. Denmark wanted him to find the cross. I know we're in the right spot. It just feels like--"

"Like we missed something?" JJ says staring up at the tree, "Guys. Come here."

The teens walk over as JJ begins climbing to the top of the van. Estrella follows him up as the others watch him. He grabs her hand to pull her up before pointing to the whole in the tree. He turns to her, "That looks like--"

"The painting in the island room." Estrella says. They turn to the others as they stare up at them.

"It's worth a shot, right?" JJ says

"Yeah." Estrella nods

"Let's do it." John B says

"Go for it." JJ says patting Estrella's arm.

Estrella frowns, "What? No chance."

"You do it." Sarah says

"Sorry. I... I went in the storm drain so..."

"She did go in the storm drain." Pope nods

"Yeah. No, I'm gonna do it. It's just..." JJ hesitates

"He's scared." Kie whispers

"I'm not scared, dude."

"You seem scared." Estrella smiles

JJ reaches his hand in slowly, "There's something in here. Wait."

Estrella jumps as he begins screaming. The others start to panic to climb up as she begins pulling him away. She holds him as he turns and starts laughing. The others stopping and jumping down as she pushes him.

"Oh, you asshole." Pope says

"Oh, man! I got all of you on that one." JJ smiles to Estrella as she rolls her eyes

"Oh, yeah, real original."

"Wait, but seriously, there's something in here." JJ says before pulling his arm out. He turns toward the others with a capsule in his hand.

"Let me see it." Pope says holding his hand out. He hands it to Pope before jumping down. Estrella decides to sit on the roof.

"HMS Royal Merchant." Pope reads

"Give it to the captain." JJ says snatching it from Pope and pulling it to reveal it was a telescope, "Here we go. It's a spyglass."

"There's something on the ends." Estrella points as John B begins turning it.

"An inscription right there. Look at that shit." John B chuckles as he hands it to Pope

"Oh, what does it say?" JJ asks

"You've come this far. Do not falter. The cross is on the Freedman's altar." Pope reads, "Freedman's altar." The cross is at the church!"

"What are we doing here, guys?" JJ says frantically before turning toward Estrella and holding his hands out. She reaches her hands out and he helps her down.

"Come on!" Pope says "We got it!"

JJ and Pope smile as they do their hand shake, "Woogity-woogity."

After loading up, the teens make their way back in the direction they came. John B slows down as he comes up on the road they had to speed through earlier. The tide was much higher.

"Ah, crap! The tide!" John B says

"Oh, this doesn't look good." Pope says

"How deep is that?" Kie asks

"I dunno. The road's gone." John B shrugs

"Tide rose faster than I thought it would." JJ says

"Just a little bit."

"Uh, John B, how high are the spark plugs?"

"They're good. We're fine."

"How high are they?" JJ and Pope repeat

"Oh, um..." John B says before sticking his head out of the window, "Uh, just above the taillight."

"Okay, so that's, what, three feet?" Pope asks

"That's three feet. Yeah." JJ nods

"It can't be three feet deep." Estrella says. Sarah tilts her head skeptically

"Then what's the problem?" John B asks

"Not a problem. No, we're good." JJ says shaking his head, "We're good. She'll make it. Yeah."

"Fasten your seat belts. Hold on to something. We're going into hyperdrive." John B says

"I'll say a quick prayer." JJ says crossing his heart. Estrella and Charlotte quickly find something to hold onto.

"Three, two, one." John B mumbles before stomping on the gas. Estrella squeezes her eyes shut as the Twinkie flies forward.

"Okay."

"You got this! You got this!" JJ encourages, "Faster! Faster!"

"Whoa! Whoa!" John b mumbles as he grips the steering wheel

"Speed is your friend. Speed is your friend, John B." JJ yells, "You got it! You got it!"

"Oh my God! Oh my God!" Sarah says as the van veers off to the side into the water

"Ah! Shit! Oh!"

Estrella groans as the van stops completely.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no." John B mumbles

"I think we miscalculated." Pope says. Charlotte sighs

"I knew I should have driven." JJ says as they begin to exit the van. The water coming up to their knees.

"Okay, maybe we can walk from here." Pope suggests

"What? And leave the Twinkie?" John B says, "The... the tide's coming in."

"So then what are we supposed to do?" Charlotte asks

"Not stay here." JJ mumbles

"I can take my dad's truck." Kie sighs

"Kie, are you sure?" John B asks

"How much worse can it get, you know?"

"We need something to pull her out with." JJ says, "There's the winch at the Chateau. That's, like, two miles."

"Yeah, that's a good idea." Sarah nods

"If you're gonna do it, let's go, okay?" John B says

"All right." Kie says as they begin wading through the water

"Tide's coming in. Twinkie's going underwater."

"Be careful." Estrella calls out

"Yes ma'am." JJ says before they disappear into the woods

The five teens had been waiting for what felt like forever for Kie and JJ to come back. Estrella had become a little worried when time kept passing and they hadn't shown. Pope, on the other hand, had become extremely irritated.

"How long does it take to go two miles and back in a car?" Pope exclaims, "I feel like they're taking a minute. Should I go look for them? Should I go find them and bring them back?"

"I don't... I don't... I don't know. Just give me a sec." John B shrugs

"Damn it! Every time!"

"Pope-" Estrella tries

"Why do we got to send JJ and Kiara, the slowest people on earth? Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! This is always happening to us."

Estrella sighs as Pope continues on as he walks through the water further away from the Twinkie.

"Like, we're always right there, and then it's bullshit." He says before walking back toward the group, "Okay. Okay. So, here's something I think we can do. We can maybe find something to leverage the Twinkie, and you can drive it out."

"Let's do driftwood." John B says

"Driftwood will work."

He and John B do their handshake, "All right, all right. Be safe, all right?"

"What does driftwood even look like?" Estrella asks

"Come with me." Pope says before walking in the opposite direction. When Estrella starts to follow him, Pope turns back, "Let me know if you find anything."

"I will." John B calls out, "Hey, Pope!"

"Yeah?"

"Hey, nothing smaller than three feet, all right? Big pieces."

"Got you. Yeah." Pope says before tapping Estrella's arm, "Come on."
