Unfortunately, the Pogues' excitement was short lived. The metal detector found nothing in the boat that they saw. Frustration coursed through John B as he just told them to pull the drone up so they could leave.

Everyone split up until later on in the day, when Kie reminded everyone of the movie that was being shown. So, Estrella, Pope, and JJ tagged along to watch seeing as no one knew where John B had run off to.

"I'm so glad that they're still doing this. Keep calm. Carry on. Back to OBX life. You know?" Kie gushes, "Aren't you guys glad I made you come?"

"Ecstatic." Pope deadpans

"My couch was pretty comfy, I'll be honest." JJ mutters as they set their chairs down.

"It's too hot for this." Estrella sighs as she sets her chair down by JJ. She notices Pope and JJ whispering to each other. She frowns, but decides to mind her business as Kie asks if she wants to walk to get drinks with her.

"Hey, uh... can I get two Pepsis and a Coke, please?" Kie says

"Sure." The vendor says

"Hey, girls."

The two look over and see Sarah's older brother, Rafe, approaching them.

"Hey, what's up?" He says smiling at Estrella, "How are you?"

"We're fine." Kie says reluctantly

"Good, good. Um-" He says, "Tell your boy that we know what he did."

Both girls frown. Estrella shrugs, "Sorry, what boy are you talking about?"

"Uh, he'll know." He nods. Kie takes the drinks from the vendor. She hands Estrella hers as they walk off

"Bye." He yells out to them

"Douche." Kie says as they walk back over to the boys, "Just saw Rafe, and he said, and I quote, "Tell your boy that we know what he did."

Kie hands them their Pepsis as they look around, "What is that?" She says

"Um...Where is he?" JJ says

"Right there." Estrella says as the boys quickly turn and see Rafe, Topper, and another boy, Kelce, staring them down.

"Great, the whole death squad. Ah!" Pope says as JJ forces him to turn around

"Don't stare, bro." JJ says, "Just warning you, bro. If they corner me, I'm coming out swinging, okay? Slice and dicin'. I'm on edge right now."

"Yeah, yeah." Pope says. Estrella takes note of his anxious body language.

"If that doesn't work, I got this right here." JJ says holding up his bag. Kie's eyes go wide.

"Yeah, yeah. So, we just gotta stay in the group. They can't get us in the group."

"Like a school of fish."

"Stay in the school. Can't leave the school."

"I'm sorry, JJ..."

"Stay in school."

"Please tell me that you did not bring a gun here. JJ, there are kids." Kie says

"No, Kie, I didn't bring the gun. Everything's fine, okay?"

"Wow, thank you. That's really convincing. I love that, JJ." She says sarcastically. JJ shakes his head as he turns away, "Founding principle, you guys. No secrets amongst Pogues. What is Rafe talking about?"

Pope leans in, "Kie, it might go down tonight."

"What does that mean?" Estrella says as she looks between the boys, "Might go down tonight." What the hell did y'all do?"

"Deny, deny, deny." JJ whispers to Pope. Estrella furrows her brows as Pope looks to her.

It had been a couple of hours since the event started. Estrella barely knew what was going on on the screen or what the movie was even about. She was too focused on Pope turning and looking around every five seconds for Rafe or Topper.

Before she knows it, the two start to get up.

"Hey, where y'all going?" Kie asks

"We gotta wring it out." JJ whispers.

Estrella whispers, "You gonna hold it for each other?"

JJ sighs before he and Pope walk off. She looks to Kiara who holds a look of confusion.

"I don't know." Estrella sighs as she shrugs. The two turn back to the movie. It's not long before she sees the bright yellow shirt Rafe had on. He, Topper, and Kelce were heading toward JJ and Pope.

"Shit. Kie." She says sitting up

"What?"

"We gotta go."

"What? Why?" Kie says sitting up as well

"Rafe and Topper. We gotta go. Now." She whispers harshly as Kie grabs JJ's bag. She and Kie rush off to where Estrella saw Topper and Rafe go. They turn the corner and see JJ being held back as Rafe punched him and Pope fought with Topper.

"Let go of him, Topper! Fascist asshole!" Kie yells trying to hit him with JJ's bag, but Topper grabs it and tosses it.

"Hey, listen, Pope. All you gotta do..."

"Topper, stop!" Kie yells as she jumps on his back.

"...is accept personal responsibility."

"Screw you, Kook!" Pope says. As soon as Estrella saw Rafe get off of JJ, she ran over and pushed Kelce off of him.

"Get off of him!" She yells

"Oh, let go of me, Rafe!" Kie yells before she's thrown to the ground

"Stay out of this, Kiara!" He yells

"Kie! You okay?" Pope yells

Estrella is pushed away by Rafe as he continues hitting JJ. She gets up and runs over to JJ's bag. She digs around and stops as she feels the gun. She sighs, but keeps digging and grabs ahold of JJ's lighter.

She pulls it out and leans toward the set up for the movie. She grabs a hold of the fabric as she flicks the lighter on.

She steps back as the fire spreads quickly. She can hear the people on the other side screaming as they quickly got up and left.

"Guys! Guys! Fire!" Rafe yells

"Get off of him!" Kie yells. Pope bending down as he takes deep breaths, "Kelce, let go of JJ!"

Estrella turns to them catching Rafe's attention. He smirks at her before turning to Topper, "Let's get outta here. Hey, let's go, Kelce!"

The three of them leave as Estrella walks over to JJ.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah." He breathes out as she rubs his shoulder

"You good?" Kie says, "We're okay."

"You're a freakin' idiot." Pope says to Estrella

"Yeah, well, I saved your ass."

"Come on." Kie chuckles as she helps Pope walk off

The next day, the four teens were all gathered in Pope's family shop. No one had heard from John B yet.

"Don't let it get in your head. Three of them and two of us." JJ says, "That's some typical Kook shit right there."

"Hell, yeah." Kie says

"What was your thought process, using your head?"

Estrella laughs as Pope shakes his head, "I don't know, man. I just kind of acted off instinct."

"Yes."

"I was a cornered animal."

"Hey, Pope, someone here to see you." His dad calls out. They all look over and see Shoupe standing behind him.

"Evening, Officer." Pope says slowly

"I have an arrest warrant for felony destruction of property."

"What?" Pope says turning to JJ. JJ shakes his head at him.

"Hands where I can see 'em."

"Whoa. Shoupe, what'd he do?" His dad says

"Look at the warrant, Heyward." He says putting Pope's hands behind his back.

"You're arresting him? You're just arresting my boy?"

"Be careful!" Kie yells. Estrella stays stuck in her spot as she watches the chaos happen around her. She follows Shoupe out as he takes Pope. Everyone else following behind her.

"Shoupe, come on!" Estrella yells

He ignores her as he continues leading Pope to the car. Everyone's words fall on deaf ears as Shoupe continued reading Pope his Miranda rights.

JJ watches Estrella's hands go in her hair as she realized she couldn't do anything to help Pope. He sees the look of terror fall on Pope's face.

"It wasn't him!" He yells. They all turn to look at him, "It was me. He tried to talk me out of it, but I was mad because he'd just been beaten up. I was so sick of those assholes from Figure Eight that I lost my shit. I can't let you take the blame for somethin' I did. You've got too much to lose."

"JJ, what are you doing?" Pope says

"I'm tellin' the truth. For once in my goddamn life, I'm gonna tell the truth. I took his old man's boat, too."

"What the hell?" Heyward says

"JJ, come on." Pope tries

"Just shut up, Pope! Just shut up. He's a good kid. You know where I'm from."

"Yeah." Shoupe nods

"Jay." Estrella says. JJ looks down, but refuses to look at her

"This was all me." He says. Shoupe sighs as he turns to Pope.

"That's the whole truth?"

"Whole truth, swear to God."

"I know what you think, damn it, I'm asking Pope."

Pope looks to Estrella whose eyes hold a look of sadness. He turns to JJ, "Yeah, that about covers it."

Shoupe wastes no time in taking the handcuffs off of Pope to put them on JJ. Estrella lets out a shaky sigh as JJ gets put into the back of the cop car.

As they drive off, Pope throws his hat to the ground.

"Pope..." Heyward says

"Shit!" He exclaims as he storms off

"Pope? Pope!" Heyward says as he bends down to pick up his hat. Estrella runs her hand through her hair before she walks off.
