ACE (Jeff X Reader) ~The Death Card
(≖ᴗ≖✿)
The girl entered the transfering portal, leading herself out of the infinite maze. At first, she only saw darkness, until suddenly a token appeared, like a receipt just finished printing from the cashier register. The girl slowly approached the tiny slip of paper before she gently brushed it with her fingers. She then slightly tugged on it, which it popped off.
The girl brought the paper slip close to her face, close enough to make out the words. As she read the first few sentences, she realized that it was a poem. Her eyes scanned from the top of the paper to the bottom as she read it carefully.
"I used to be a colorful clown,
Until my colors faded down.
My only friend had now abandoned me,
Oh, didn't you hear my screams and plea's?
Stuck in a box, I rot here and wait.
Like waiting for a fish to eat it's bait.
For years I've had been left all alone.
All my colors have turned monochrome.
I cannot deny, I've seen it all.
For stuck in my prison, I'm only witness after all.
I hope you hear my screams and plea's.
Someday my savior will come set me free."

The girl realized what the poem was talking about. The colorful clown, now monochrome all over, was the description of the black and white clown, LJ. The poem seemed to talk about his past and what he had endured. Apparently he had been abandoned by his friends. But the girl didn't get one thing. Was he a play-toy of some sort? She thought.
As soon as she finished reading, a sudden light shined through the midst of the middle of the dark room. Enchanted by it's glow, the girl held on tightly to the tiny slip of paper, carefully tucking it in her back pocket and walking towards the bright glow.
The girl kept walking into the ball of light, barely seeing anything in front of her until the light was so bright, she walked forward with her eyes covered with the back of her hand. Suddenly she heard a voice echo through the room.
"Well done."
The girl slowly moved her hand away, though the light was still lingering in her eyes before it took time for her eyes to adjust to the sudden brightness. The dark figure was very tall, about the same height as LJ, with pointy hair and a long nose.
As her eyes were adjusting, she realized that it WAS LJ. She blinked her eyes at him, slowly reaching into her back pocket and pulling out the tiny paper slip. LJ noticed the tiny slip with his gleaming eyes before he swiftly leveled his eyes at the girl's gaze.
"So I see you've read my little poem there." The clown nodded.
The girl nodded in return. She didn't know whether to provoke the clown about his past or not, but she did not dare if something bad had happened.
The clown seemed as if he was waiting for the question, but soon gave up as he spoke. "You passed the test. Congratulations." His eyes gleamed in mischief. "But there will be times, when you'll have to give up your first life."
The girl shivered at the thought of losing a life. "Can I go back?" The girl asked.
The clown gave her a look of surprise. "Why? Do you miss Jeff already?"
The girl felt her face beginning to heat up. "No," the girl replied tensily. "I just don't like this place.."
In the clown's eyes there was a look of sadness, gleaming in his eyes that lasted only for a second, that soon disappeared. "Well, you'll have to get used to it." The clown replied. "You'll be visiting me and this place everyday!" The clown clapped his hands giddly.
The girl stood there awkwardly, shivering. "S-So can I go back?" The girl repeated, stammering.
The clown stopped laughing and looked down at her approvingly. "I guess so, you've completed the task and one of the rules said you were allowed to leave once you've completed the task." He then walked towards the girl and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Let's get you out of here," the clown whispered. Suddenly, a puff of smoke appeared, surrounding the girl and the clown as it slowly teleported them to Jeff. Between the few seconds that lasted in the teleortation, she felt the clown's face getting near her ear as he softly whispered, "I am Witness, you are Savior. Who is the Killer?"
Suddenly, the smoke cleared and the girl found herself in the same dark room she was imprisoned in by Jeff. She turned back to see the clown, but he wasn't there anymore. The girl was both relieved and both nervous. What did he mean by his question? The girl thought. Who was the killer?
As the girl stood there, so in to her thoughts, she finally snapped out of it, her eyes wide open at the surrounding darkness in the room. She wondered where was Jeff, and curiousity got to her, SHe walked towards the door and slightly brushed her fingers against the cold, silver, rusted doorknob. Taking a deep breath she slowly turned the knob towards her direction.
She expected it to be jammed, or locked, but it made a click sound, indicating that the door was open. Eyes wide, the girl slowly pushed the door open and peeked her head out. Nobody was down the hallways. No sign of Jeff anywhere.
The girl slowly appeared out of the dark room and left the door open, searching for Jeff. She came across lots of doors that had the same appearance. She once tried to go in one, but it was locked. So were the other doors too.
Disappointed, the girl trudged to the end of the hallway, until she came across an open door. The girl peeked in with curiousity bubbling in her head. It was the same room she had tried to enter before Jeff had stopped her midway. The room was dark, only lit by a tiny candle that it's flames were about to die out as the wax was slowly melting, dripping off the wax candle and onto the floor.
The girl stepped in the room cautiously and went towards the tiny candle. Not expressing or saying anything, the girl slowly bent down and watched the tiny flame until she pursed her lips, and let out a soft blow, dying the flames out immediately, the smoke slowly rising up into the ceiling, the darkness gulping the entire room as it went completely dark.
