Sunset: Seishu Inui x Fem! Reader

Written by Sen (SENEON)

"C'mon~! Did you see how his shirt got ripped? It was so funny!" As if in sync, your friends laughed while you sighed and continued sipping the tea you had ordered just recently.

It was a nice Friday. After school you usually go back home but, this time you followed your two friends to their usual "hangout". They had offered for you to tag along multiple times, but you'd always decline their invitation.

This Friday was different; you had an odd feeling about it. As of now, all three of you were loitering at your friend's favourite café. You ordered a cup of tea and a plate of cookies.

The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, which helped you soothe that anxiousness a bit. As for the two girls, they were having their moment, which was laughing nonsensically.

"I'm heading to the restroom, excuse me." you placed the teacup down then made your way to the restroom only for you to step accidentally on someone's foot before actually bumping into them. You mentally facepalmed, then took a step back. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry-"

"No no no, I'm the one who's sorry." the voice whom you now recognised as a male. He held both of his hands up apologetically. At the sight of his sunflower blond hair, dark emerald eyes, the scar on his left eye (which looked unique to you), followed by his neutral expression, you incidentally froze at the sight of him.

You stared at him for a moment before someone else came beside the sunflower colored male and placed an arm over his shoulders. "Woah, Inupi! You got a girl?"

"H-huh?!" you shrieked as you froze up in surprise. You weren't used to hearing people mistake you as someone's significant other.

"Koko, I don't even know who this girl is, yet." The person named "Inupi" calmly explained as his black-haired friend's smug look dropped.

The sunflower haired male turned to you and then checked out your uniform to which may seem inappropriate to some people, even to you but, his eyes quickly landed on your school badge. "You're in the same school as us... It's just that, you're in the private branch."

You purse your lips together and shrug. "I don't know who you guys are. I don't pay that much attention to the public branch."

"Inui Seishu, I'm a second-year student. Nice to meet you." Inui held his hands out for you to shake but, you just stared at it. Handshakes weren't your thing, neither was physical interaction. You hesitated but shook his hands anyway, since he seemed like someone who would be an extremely great person to be friends with. "L/n Y/n, I'm a second-year student too."

"Hey now... Don't leave me out! I'm Kokonoi Hajime. I'm the same year as you guys, obviously." Koko showed his tongue at you, making you grimaced. "What the hell-"

"Oh right! I have to go to the restroom..."

Inui formed an "O" with his lips before smiling at you, "Alright, take your time! Nice to meet you again, L/N-san, but we'll be leaving for now. We still have extracurricular classes to attend to."

You nodded, then bowed. Before walking into the restroom, feeling the two male's eyes on your back as Kokonoi nudged Inui's shoulders. "Nice one there, Inupi."

"Okay, see you all next week." You waved goodbye at your two friends as the three of you went separate ways. It was around evening. You and your friends wasted the time you guys had left to have fun with each other. But somehow, the sunflower blond you met from earlier wouldn't leave your mind.

Inui has been stuck in your mind for the entire time, which was distracting you from reality. There's something about those emerald eyes that calms you down...

Will you be able to meet him again?

Sighing, you walked along the road near the riverbank. You enjoyed the peace and silence of the stroll while watching the sunset. The sun and wind were freely roaming the earth, which made the atmosphere airy and light with grace, so it was very much to your liking.

A familiar figure that sat on the grass near the river as their hands gently played with the water, which distracted you.

"Is he the guy from earlier?" you thought to yourself and descended the staircase which led to the riverbank, followed by the person's head turning in your direction.

Your eyes slightly widened in shock, then ran in their direction. "Hey! Inui-kun!" You called out as you waved your hand, then slowed down when you were beside him, whilst bending to his height.

Inui chuckled and patted a space beside him. "You can sit down if you'd like to." Y/N hummed in response and sat down beside him, crossing your legs and clutching them. You couldn't help but smile because you saw someone who you thought you'd never really see again. "So, what are you doing here?"

"Eh, nothing much. I come here every day to enjoy the sunset and breeze, that's all. But, I live around here though." Inui looked up at the sky. You shyly averted your gaze towards the river, slowly curling into a ball. "I see... I live around here too, but I rarely go out during this time."

"How so?"

"I don't enjoy going out after school if it has nothing to do with me. And I have strict parents."

Inui slowly nodded his head. "I don't have anyone other than Koko right now. A tragedy happened long ago and I have all the freedom to do whatever I want to. And you should try going out more often! It's really fun if you do stuff with your friends."

You lifted your head up and stared at Inui's face, which held a warm smile. He stood, then offered you his hand. "We met just recently, but I feel like we could get along really well and we'd probably be friends. Or maybe, more than friends." he whispered the last sentence. You tried your best to keep a stoic expression, but you failed miserably; The embarrassment was too much, but you still accepted his helping hand.

He pulled you up as you brushed the dirt off your clothes. The strange feeling you felt that going on between you and him felt surreal. It felt like a connection, though you don't want to come off as creepy to Inui; So, you simply gave him a smile, which made him blush.

You let go of his hands and turned your back on him, entwining your hands behind you. "It would be nice for us to get along. I don't know you yet, nor do you know me. But, we could always watch the sunset from different places and talk to each other, right?" you glanced at him as the wind silently blew your hair.

"Y-yea... And you can call me Seishu from now on." Inui scratched his nape while closing his eyes, he clearly embarrassed him at the moment.

"Alright then! In return, you call me Y/n so it would be fair. Do you want to walk home together?" you asked, tilting your head slightly.

"Sure!" he exclaimed, then ran to your side.

As you two walked to your house, you both filled the air with chatters and laughter, while the breeze accompanied the both of you. During the short time, you had already taken a liking to Inui, possibly even having a crush on him.

Inui was simply too perfect in your eyes. He was your inspiration. His voice toned down all your negative emotions and thoughts, washing them away from you as you hear all the things he has to say about himself and his life.

Indeed, it was a very memorable day, where you gained a new friend and that new friend was going to be someone special to you in a brief span of time.
