It was the middle of the night in the elegant castle, mostly everyone was asleep. Of course, except for the guards who worked at night so there was no invasion happening. Owls hoot through the forest as the night sky shined brightly, the moon standing out the most. Stars shone all across the universe as some people would like to stargaze, maybe catching a shooting star.

In the lavish castle, a female wearing a decorative dress was tip-toeing around the castle , looking around to see if anyone was in her sight. She was sneaking around the castle, but why exactly?

As she ran down the basement of the castle, her heels clicked on the stone stairs. She took a torch that was hanging on a wall as a light to see around the basement. The female rushed down the stairs, afraid that she might get caught.

The fire on the torch shone and showed what was hiding in the basement. When the girl was young, maids would tell stories of how the castle's basement was a terrible place to go. It was where monsters and unimaginable creatures were locked, so you should always stay outside from the basement, presuming you desire a cheerful life. Though none of the stories they told were believable to her, she took a brave stance and went to check on the theory herself.

The female looked around. The basement was full of cages connected to the wall. Though it didn't seem like anyone was in the cages... or so she thought. When she went to inspect more of the place, chains shook. The girl yelped out loud as she took a step back too quickly that she fell, making a loud thud. That was probably a bad idea, since it might have woken someone up...

"Why... Why are you here?" A quiet voice spoke after a moment of silence. She predicted the person was a male from the voice she heard. "S-sorry, I was just seeing what was inside the basement. I-I'll go now!!" The girl stuttered over her words as she was still frightened over what happened.

"It's fine... It doesn't matter if you're here or not anyways..." the boy commented. "I have a question... I-If you're willing to answer, why and how did you end up here...?" She asked, curious as to why someone was there . "Didn't you hear the children's stories about the basement? Monsters and strange creatures live here, apparently I'm one of them..."

The h/c-haired female crawled closer to the cage he was in after falling. She looked at him, he had messy white hair and crystal blue eyes, the thing most mesmerized about him was his long white eyelashes. He was in an oversized black hoodie, and had chains clipped around his hands to the wall.

"You... you don't look like a monster..." He chuckled hearing her words. "I'm not, got framed for something I didn't do, and now stuck here for eternity." The blue-eyed boy said with monotony, seemingly not caring about his situation.

"I'm sorry..." The girl apologized, not knowing what to say after. "It's okay, that happened a long time ago anyways." He tried to lose the tense mood up. "I'm Y/N!! How about you?" "Senju, Kawaragi Senju." He said and smiled, liking the way that she was not frightened talking to a 'criminal'.

"I know this is unexpected but... I stole a random key in the king's room and I think it's for this cellar..." Senju's eyes widened. "Are you serious, what if he finds out?!?!" He imagined what the causes would be if the king found out about the girl's little tactics. "Don't worry, he spoils me a lot and he won't get mad at me... hopefully," she said her last word quietly but was still caught by the male. "Anyways, let's get you outta here!!" She said excitedly and stood up.

The e/c-eyed girl took the key she hid somewhere in her dress and unlocked the cellar. She then went into the cellar and unlocked the chains he had locked in his hands. "There, you're all free!!" She spoke, having a bright smile on her face.

"Y/N?!?! What are you doing here, you're not supposed to be here!" A loud booming voice came from the door of the basement. Just from the voice, you could tell that the person was extremely mad about the situation. "F-Father?! W-Why are you awake-" "I heard a commotion somewhere in the basement, so I came to check what the fuss was all about. I can't believe you went into the basement like this," the king said furiously.

"Now, step away from that monster and come here, now." Her father commanded the girl, or might I say, the princess. "N-No, he did nothing wrong!! You misunderstood. Please father, let him go. I-If not, he could stay with me! Please..." Y/N begged her father as she hugged Senju, holding his head to her chest for supposingly protection.

The king could not stand a chance seeing his only daughter begging for a low life male. He was mad, not at her but at the boy. But, he couldn't deny the one and only child he cherished the most in his life. He looked in Senju's direction in suspicion of the boy. In Senju's mind, he wanted to piss the king off for what he had put him in. So, he sneakily smirked for only the king to see. Of course, he saw it but Y/N didn't.

The king balled his fist in anger and spared not a look in Senju's way anymore but in Y/N's direction. He saw how her eyes pleaded for this male. Aah, maybe he shouldn't look at her eyes, because he couldn't refuse his princess after all.

"Fine, but only if he stays in this castle," the king accepted her offer, sighing at how easy he let the princess off. "Thank you, thank you, father!!!" The girl let go of Senju and jumped up and down for her victory. "Did you hear that Senju? you're free now!" The girl spoke excitedly and hugged him again tighter. Senju smiled at her delighted.

"Thanks, princess."
