Personality:
Elena is kind but will be harsh if she needs to be. She has a tendency of saying whatever is on her mind, even if it might get her into trouble. Elena, with certain people (Eren and some of the other cadets) can have a slight temper when speaking with them. Although it's unseen by most, Elena is an emotional person but she keeps it hidden, not wanting it to overwell herself while she's working. She also doesn't want to be seen as an emotional woman. Elena also doesn't think very highly of herself and will put herself down to bring others up.
After she was attacked, it changed her. She became a bit more anxious around people and didn't like it when people came up behind her without letting her know. Elena also suffers from insomnia. Due to her time in the Survey Corps, she's seen a lot of death to the point where the thought of dying doesn't worry her anymore. Like if she was to die, she would accept it fully and be at peace with it.

Likes:
Reading: It's a form of escape for her, she lets her mind sink into the world and forget all the horrors of her own world, even if it's just for a moment. 
Helping people: It makes her feel good. She feels like she's actually helping people even if she's just closing up a wound or is just putting a bone back in place. 
The rain: She likes the sound of the raindrops hitting the windows and generally just the sound of the rain. Its soothing to her. 
Nature: Elena has always found nature to be interesting and something to explore. She loves to learn about anything and everything.
Her siblings: Elena loves her family more than anything. She'll do anything for them, even if it meant giving up her own happiness.
Dislikes:
Thunder and Lightning: You'd think if she likes rain then thunder and lighting wouldn't bother her, nope. It does. With thunder, she doesn't like how loud it'll ring in her ears. Lighting always made her uneasy since it could kill her just as much as the titans could. 
Titans: Who doesn't hate these things. They're creepy. 
Disorganized: She feels like she can't work if there are clothes and papers all over the floor. She likes to have at least a somewhat organized work space/environment.

Strengths:
•Her mind: Due to Elena's education, she knows how humans work and likes to use it.
•Her kind heart: Elena is kind at a fault, she knows that she shouldn't try to see what makes people who they are, but she just can't help herself. Elena gives kindness to everyone, even if they don't give it back. She'll comfort those in need.

Her stubbornness: Elena is quite stubborn and when she puts her mind to something, she'll do it until she sees that it's seen through. It's her strength and weakness.

Backstory:
Elena grew up in a pretty normal childhood. She left her childhood home to become a doctor since it was her dream to help people. So that's what she did at the age of 19. One night she was walking back home, after her class when she noticed someone against the wall breathing heavily. She went over to them to assist them when she was then attacked: it was a trap. Now you see, someone didn't like that a woman, a woman of color, was getting an education. So they decided to treat her to a lesson. Her attackers left her to her wounds seeing as their job was done. Elena managed to get herself back home before it was too late. Her father helped her clean up and told her that she couldn't walk home alone anymore, he didn't want the same thing to happen again. Elena agreed and from then on her brother walked with her to and from their home. This didn't stop Elena from watching to be a doctor. Her brother later joined the scouts and thought of how his sister could help out: she could become their doctor. Not on the field of course but when they were behind the walls and safe. Thanks to her brother, Elena was able to get in and for once truly felt like she was helping people. Then Wall Maria fell. She wasn't in town when it happened, yet she worried deeply for the lives of her family. Later on, Elena found out what that Kanna was alive and in the scouts. She was relieved but worries about her more than ever now.
Trivia:

•Elena hates spiders. Like really hates them. She'll find anything else but spiders. She will climb onto anything (or anyone if they're close enough) to get away. 
•Elena is very allergic to shellfish. She always wanted to try it but but it would make her go into shock. 
•Elena does some crafting when she's overwhelmed, it's relaxing to her. 
•"If you are going to ask me about what the human body can survive, I'm going to hit you" < Has said this too many times.
•If Elena really wished to become an "actual" scout member and use ODM gear, she would but works better in the medical field.
•One of her biggest wishes is to become a settle down with her lover and have a family of her own. She sadly believes that will never happen.

•She has some cuts around her arms, they'll from when she's cooking or working with medical equipment. She has somehow always managed to hurt herself in the kitchen (not in a self-harm type of way, just that she's clumsy.)
