PERSONALITY

Originally a very timid man in his younger years, Deshi has grown to be a stronger individual over the years. His love for literature and the arts has helped him to stay smart but not pretentious- Dee is known to be quite soft and caring, especially compassionate.

Those who know him have said that the young man is so loving that if someone were to hit him with a horse, he might ask if the horse is alright before making sure he himself was alright. Most see this compassion, however, through his acts of kindness- whether it's encouraging someone to pursue a goal, help someone out with a concept or hobby they've been struggling to get the hang of, or sharing a hug or handshake, Dee's not the kind to stand by and judge when someone might be struggling. Being a smart man from doing lots of reading and writing, he wants to use and share the knowledge with others.

Don't read it the wrong way, however- while he may be very empathetic, he isn't overly emotional from this. Surprisingly enough, it takes quite a bit for him to cry since he tends to bottle up a lot of his own personal emotions in order to help those around him more than he does himself. Not very healthy, I know. And Dee does too although he doesn't admit it to himself.

However, Sunny's kindness is both his strongest suit as well as his biggest flaw- a man who gives much love to others, but little love to himself; he doesn't believe that he's worthy of it. The man tends to stress himself out a lot- whether it's from helping others too often, stressing out over pleasing his parents, overthinking his future too much, etc - he tends to put a lot on his plate. Sometimes it causes him to lash out towards others without meaning to or turns him towards his poor habits. However, Deshi will always apologize or turn back to trying to take care of himself since he knows that what he did won't help anyone- he's not one to be stubborn and act as though he's always right.

He's anything but shy- in fact, he's quite social. However, he can feel incredibly awkward when a conversation goes to a topic he's uninterested in or uneducated on. Then, he'll mostly just nod and smile. He's actually quite a great listener, and it's why he loves social interaction- so that he can listen to others. One of his favorite things has to be when people go deep into a topic they're interested in and blab on and on about it for hours. He could listen to people talk about themselves all day honestly. If you ever needed someone to talk to- whether for comfort or for company- Deshi would be the man to go to.


HOBBIES 

Since a young age, Dee has loved music- he's been an avid piano player since he was younger and has been writing music for years as well. He loves classical music and ballroom dance songs. Sunny tends to write music most of the time but when he's not writing music, he's making or reading poetry. He loves reading stories as well- whether it's history or novels, Mark Twain or Jane Austin- he's got books always tucked away under his arm or in his room. He prefers writing poems over long stories however since he finds them a lot easier than elaborate stories. More of his hobbies other than basically existing at or around the library would be journaling about plants and birds, observing art on display, and occasionally baking. He actually quite loves to cook and has been privately teaching himself in the kitchen while everyone is fast asleep and would love to be able to surprise someone he cares about with a nice meal or dessert or something else tasty. More than likely, he's trying different recipes to have with honey- he loves it although he won't admit he's got a large sweet tooth.

- most sports/athletic things that his parents had made him try, like fencing and archery. he might've liked them more if his family hadn't been so focused on trying to get him to be competitive when learning the activities since he's never been much of a fan for competing against someone, just likes that fun playful sort of way to play. regardless, he is still quite talented in both fencing and archery since he still put much of his effort into the sports

ahh- this is something Deshi needs to work on a bit. his mother has always been a largely independent woman, doing things that some might deem un-ladylike, and Dee admires her for doing what she loves, but his father's views (and society's for that matter) have somewhat blurred his opinions. he doesn't realize that all women can be like his mother- strong and brave and powerful even. he still is working past seeing women as more fragile and sensitive than men although he doesn't view them as objects or as something in existence just for men to profit from

— HOMOSEXUALITY

Sunny is, simply put, homosexual. He struggles with being confident about how he feels considering how many gay men (and women) have been caught with their lovers and k!lled... he's quite terrified to come out and although he really really wants to, it feels currently impossible considering that he's more than likely going to be given away in the marriage mart soon from his parents if he doesn't pick a woman before they do for him. he can't even fathom coming out to the two of them without one of them getting mad and/or the other fainting

— THE MARRIAGE MART 

as sort of hinted before, Dee is /not/ a fan. The last thing he'd enjoy is to be married to someone he doesn't love. all he wants is to find someone who loves him back... he won't admit it, but he's a bit of a hopeless romantic. it's not the easiest finding true love when you're gay in the 1800s after-all. however, if it works for others, it works for others and so he can't blame some people for liking it... it just wasn't cut out for himself.

— THE ROYAL FAMILY

he has... mixed feelings about the royals. he isn't exactly sure how to feel about the monarchy, especially after learning about America's democracy and how they're able to have more say in how they're governed. however, he still respects his king and queen and their family since he's still used to them being the main rulers- they're still vital to keeping the kingdom intact, so how could he not feel like they're important to have.
