"We're here dad."

Natsu grimaces as his new wife, Keira, steps out of the house with a worried expression on her face.

Igneel tumbles out of the vehicle and Keira leans down to help him.

"Are you okay, honey?"

She asks, helping him into the house.

Natsu hated her.

She hated how nice she was, and how she ever thought that he'd call her mother.

His mother was Grandine Marvell, not Keira Johnson, a gold-digging prostitute.

Natsu checks his phone's calendar and nods.

Monday, he'd go visit his mother after he got back from work.

He smiles as he drives the route home, making an accidental left on Riverserie.

He shouts various curses as he slams on the brakes, a speeding car cutting him off on a red light.

"YOU IDIOT! DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!? YOU PRICK!"

Natsu yells out of the open window, earning a middle finger up from the driver.

"Ugh.."

He watches as his light flashes and changes to a vibrant red.

Rolling his eyes, he leans forward and looks to the never-ending line of traffic and pounds his for head against the center of the steering wheel.

Quickly pulling out his phone, he enters Lucy's number and calls her cellphone.

After a ring, she picks up, and in her sweet, angelic voice, she hums,

"Hello~?"

She twiddles her thumbs on the other side of the line.

"Please tell me that you're having a better time than me right now."

He exhales as she gasps in surprise.

"Natsu?"

She asks within a giggle.

"Who's Natsu, Lu-chan~~?"

A taunting voice comes from the background.

"S-Shut up, Levy-chan!"

She murmurs as she takes a deep breath.

"So, what are you doing?"

She asks, rolling over on her backside.

"I asked you first."

He chuckles and continues to look at the passing traffic.

"Fine, I'm not really doing anything. I'm just working."

She shrugs and examines her nails as Levy pokes at her shoulder.

"Sounds entertaining. What are you working on?"

He questions, leaning forward.

"Are you just trying to make a conversation or are you actually interested?"

She scoffs at his comment.

"A little bit of both maybe? I'm just annoyed so I need something to get my mind off of it."

He informs her, groaning.

"What are you annoyed about?"

She inquires, pressing her ear to the phone.

"Ugh, some idiot swerved in front of me on a red light and almost cost me my life. What an idiot."

Natsu rubs his for head as she giggles on the other side of the phone.

"What are you laughing about?"

He narrows his eyelids.

"It's nothing, I'm just surprised that that idiot is still alive."

She closes her eyes and smiles.

"Hiii~~Natsu~~!"

Levy shouts from the other side of the phone.

"Hey."

He chuckles as Lucy begs her to be quiet.

"Sorry, that was my friend."

She sighs and shakes her head.

"She sounds legit."

He chuckles and presses speaker, lying his phone in the cup-holder.

"Are you still driving?"

She asks as she hears the faint motor of his truck.

"Yeah, I called you when I was stuck in traffic."

He focuses on the path as he speeds up five miles over the limit.

"Don't get in a crash~~!!"

She worries, yelling through the phone.

"I won't. I'm not losing my life until I see you in a school uniform at least once."

He chuckles as he hears her yelp on the other side of the line.

"I'm kidding~...unless you actually go to school. Then holy Mavis that would be even more attractive."

He thinks, causing her to blush.

"I'm beginning to think that this call was a mistake."

She sighs reaching to hang up.

"No! I was kidding, kidding."

He laughs again.

"It's nice to talk to you."

He smiles and her face turns a deeper shade of red.

"I think so too."

She climbs under the comforter of Levy's bed and lays the phone next to her.

"Going to bed, Luce?"

He asks her, frowning.

"I won't hang up."

She giggles and he smirks.

"I won't either."

He laughs, causing her to smile to herself.

"We can just listen to eachother breathe as we sleep."

She jokes, in which he takes seriously.

"I'd love that. Keeping watch on you."

He presses the facecam option, which she accepts.

"Just wanted to see how ugly I look at night, huh?"

She asks, puffing our her cheeks.

"No, you're beautiful. I just wanted to see you."

He smiles as he pulls into the parking lot of his apartment complex.

"I just got home~...God I'm so happy!"

He stretches and heads towards his floor number.

"You live in an apartment?"

She asks looking closer at the background.

"Yeah, what college student wouldn't?"

He gives her a condescending look and she tilts her head.

"College? You look so young~."

She gapes at his flawless features.

"Twenty-three is young. But I guess not to you, huh? Miss high-school senior."

He chuckles and she nods.

"How'd you figure? I'm the class valedictorian."

She blows him a kiss and he pretends to catch it.

"Good job, I should come to your graduation and support you."

He suggests and she smiles.

"I'll tell you a few weeks before then."

She feels herself growing tired.

"Go on and go to sleep, I'll wake you up when it's morning. Tomorrow's a school day, right?"

He asks and she groans.

"Right. Ugh, good thing I did my homework."

She snuggles up under the covers.

"Goodnight, just pretend that I tucked you in, okay?"

He laughs, smiling softly.

"Okay~, Natsu."

She closes her eyes and slowly drifts off to sleep.

Natsu stays silent as he removes his shoes and clothes, getting into his own bed after a brisk shower.

He stares at her gorgeous features for a while, before closing his eyes and falling asleep also.
