Roman was never one to show weakness. He was always complimenting everyone and acting dramatic over everything. Though that's exactly what it was; acting. He wasn't as confident and bold as he acted.

Tonight was just like any performance night and Roman poured his heart and soul into his act. Yet, it wasn't enough to please the poor boy's father. After the show ended Roman gathered his stuff from backstage, only to be confronted by his father.

They had a long heated argument, ending with his father storming away and leaving his son at the school. Roman was shaking in anger and sadness, tears filled his eyes but he refused to let them drop. He ran to the bathroom and shut himself in one of the stalls.

Logan had heard the argument and had seen what happened. Although he wasn't that experienced with comforting people, he wanted to make sure his best friend was alright. He went to the bathroom that he saw Roman run into.

"Roman? Are you alright?" Logan asked softly. He heard quiet crying coming from one of the stalls and walked towards the noise. "Roman?"

"I-I am fine, Specs," Roman replied in his usual tone but the crack in his voice gave it away.

"I already saw what happened Ro, I wanted to see how you were.." Logan's heart metaphorically broke upon hearing how obvious it was that Roman was not fine. "Studies show that talking to someone about it helps."

Roman let out a broken laugh, which then turned into a sob. He unlocked the stall door but made no attempt to move. Logan opened the stall door and held his arms out as an invitation for a hug, just as he had seen Roman do to Patton when the fatherly friend had breakdowns.

Roman got up and hugged Logan tightly, quietly sobbing into the nerd's shoulder. Logan didn't mind, he knew Roman didn't have as great of a home life as everyone thinks. Only when Roman started apologizing did Logan mind.

"Roman, you do not need to apologize for having emotions," Logan tried to keep calm but anger riled up in him; anger towards Roman's father, towards Roman's lack of self love, towards how Roman would fake his emotions until it broke him, and towards how Logan was never able to help properly.

Roman pulled away, forcing himself to calm down. He struggled to hold back the wall of tears that was ready to be released. "I-it's not just that Lo... I-I'm apologizing for everything..." The sobbing started again despite Roman's attempt to stop it.

That's when Logan noticed that the sash on Roman's costume is darker than the normal bright apple red sash and his eyes were a nice shade of maroon. "Roman...stop apologizing for things you can not control..." He pulled the other back into a hug and allowed him to release all the bottled up emotions.

They may not have spoken of the incident after but was a silent agreement among the two that Roman wouldn't hide around Logan.

Logan was stressed beyond normal. Finals were in three weeks and he was a studying wreck. Normally he would spend study time with Roman but even just the quiet nature of Roman's presence was too much for him right now. Sure, Roman hardly ever bother Logan when it was just the two of them, only ever talking when asking a question about an assignment but...Logan didn't want to hurt the princely man by snapping.

So here he was, sitting at his desk in his bedroom. His mother was getting ready for her shift at the hospital, so he'd be home alone for a while. This would give Logan the quiet time he desires to study for the tests. A quiet knock interrupted his thoughts.

"Logan, your friend Roman is here," his mom spoke softly from behind the door. "I'm heading to work, no staying up later than eleven." Logan sighed as he heard his mom's footsteps fade away.

"Logan? Is...is it alright if I come in? It's ok if it's not, I can just sit out here o-or go to Patton's house.." There was hesitance and nervousness in Roman's voice, something Logan hadn't heard before. He unlocked the door for the other but didn't open it. Instead he sat back at his desk, doing his best to keep himself together.

Roman hesitantly came in, shutting the door softly behind him. "I-I get that  finals are coming up b-but..." He trailed off. One look at Logan's state was enough for Roman to push away his problems and focus on Logan. "Why don't you take a break?"

"I-I can't Roman, I need to pass all of the finals! If you just came here to  annoy me then get out!" Logan snapped at his 'friend'. Roman flinched, fear clouding his maroon colored eyes. Logan's own eyes widened when he realized what he said. "R-Ro..."

"It's fine, I'm fine Logan." Roman put on a smile that would fool anyone but Logan knew better. Roman gave Logan a quick hug before going to leave but Logan grabbed his hand.

"R-Ro, wait! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap!" Logan was desperate to make up for filling his 'friend's beautiful maroon eyes with fear. "I-I...I-I..." Logan broke and started sobbing.

Roman was quick to react. He picked Logan up and sat on the bed, rocking the crying boy softly. Suddenly, things began to become colorized in Logan's room. The blanket on Logan's bed was a pretty shade of navy blue and the glow in the dark stars were dark blue color as well.

"It's alright Lo, just let it all out. That's what best friends and soulmates are for..." Roman whispered. Logan looked up at him, his navy blue colored eyes were filled with tears and his cheeks were flushed pink. "You've known, haven't you?"

Logan simply nodded, the rocking was helping him calm down and the crying was helping relieve stress. Roman offered him a small smile, much more genuine then the last. The two leaned in and shared their first kiss.
