Being the romantic Side sucked.

Or at least... That's how Roman sees it.

Sure, there were some upsides to being the fanciful one. He was able to understand the romance jokes in movies, he was able to understand love but most of all...

He was able to express his love.

Yet...lately the usually egoistic prince hasn't been feeling himself. Everytime he walked into the commons, there they were, Virgil and Logan, cuddled on the couch just like the couple usually did. Roman didn't mind it, he was happy for them but...he wished he could cuddle with them and do romantic gestures.

Being the romantic side sucked, truth be told.

Roman wished he could forget his feelings for the two sides...but  he couldn't. Instead, he locked himself away in his room, only coming out when Patton forced him to eat.

"What's wrong, kiddo? I've hardly seen you for nearly a month..." Patton tried to get answers after finding Roman in his theater.

"I'm practically perfect in every way Padre." Roman replied with his most convincing fake smile. Patton gave him a semi suspicious look but bought the smile. He left Roman to go do other things.

Roman didn't sleep that night, the guilt of lying to patton had been eating him inside out.

When Virgil had came into his room the next morning, Roman told him that he was fine just "tired" and that he'll be down in a bit.

Once again, he was given a suspicious look but his smile was enough to convince Virgil he was fine.

But he wasn't. He felt dead.

In order to let off some emotion, Roman went to the imagination to slay another dragonwitch. He was used to the riddles, the games, the pattern.

In all honesty, he just wanted to feel something other than heartbreaking love.

"Hello again, Prince Roman." The dragonwitch said in a bored tone.

"Greetings and farewell once again dragonwitch!" Roman pointed his sword at the creature.

"Very well, I've got a new riddle for you. Solve it and I'll leave, fail and you must fight to defeat me." The dragonwitch gave a wicked grin. "Fail to defeat me and I'll make one of your little friends suffer your consequences."

"Y-you wouldn't!" Roman tried to sound brave but inside he was shaking in fear.

The dragonwitch smirked. "I am not something you can see, but what you can feel. I am neither an illness nor a disease, but I can be caught and be used as a weapon. What am I?"

This riddle was new to Roman. In all his battles with the dragonwitch, never had he heard this one before.

Something that you can't see but still catch? Used as a weapon? Roman thought as he dodged a fire ball thrown at him.

Not an illness or a disease but it can still kill...

Roman dodged another attack but barely. He knew he'd have to answer the riddle or defeat the dragonwitch to keep his loved ones safe.

Loved ones.

LOVE!

"The answer is love!" Roman shouted. He had been too busy trying to solve the riddle and dodge attacks that he didn't notice Logan or Virgil walking in.

It all happened so fast; one minute Roman was in front of the dragonwitch and the next he had pushed the two sides out if the way and took a hit from a fire ball.

He was thrown across the room, but as he had figured out the riddle, the dragonwitch disappeared as promised.

"Roman!" Logan called out. They ran over to him. Roman coughed up blood as he attempted to sit up.

"Ro! No! Nononono!" Virgil's voice was becoming incoherent as his anxiety got worse.

"I'm..." Roman started coughing again. "...fine."

Logan started rambling about what they needed to do while Virgil was trying not to panic.

Neither of them noticed Roman slipping into unconsciousness. His last words were barely a whisper before he black out...

"Love is a weapon..."
