•This is a real thing if anyone's wondering, I've been there. Both during the day to visit the grave, and at night (twice, once when I was ten and once with a bunch of friends in the summer of 2016)•

"So...what exactly are we doing in a cemetery in the middle of the night?" Virgil asked. They were right outside of the gate at a cemetery.

"Relax Virge, it's not as scary as it seems. Besides, the real "fun" begins at midnight." Roman laughed.

"What happens at midnight?" Logan asked, trying to keep Patton from freaking out. Sure, they were in a car, but that didn't stop the poor father figure from being terrified.

"Supposedly if you visit this certain grave site, Beef Creek Apache Cemetery, at midnight you'll be able to see a man hanging in a tree and hear drums played by dead Indians." Thomas explained as he shut the headlights of the car off.

"Wait... So this a haunted cemetery?" Virgil asked, his anxiety spiking sky high. Thomas nodded.

"Yes, Virgil, haunted by dead Indians and deceased soldiers." Roman rolled his eyes. "Every cemetery is haunted."

They sat in silence for a bit, listening for the sound of drums. Virgil checked the clock every five minutes, dreading midnight.

Roman had a bright idea to stand outside the car and look around for paranormal activity. Logan agreed (for "scientific purposes") and convinced Thomas and Patton to come with.

Virgil was a bit skeptical hut didn't want to be left alone in the dark car with ghosts on the loose. He followed the crew out of the car and snapped pictures with his phone while shining a flashlight everywhere.

"Are you sure we won't die?" Patton asked, unsure of what to do. He clung to Logan as Roman and Thomas walked around.

"Sure I'm sure. People do this all the time... I think. I mean, I ran into a teenager who said they did this. So I guess it's safe." Thomas shrugged.

They looked around for a while, snapping pictures of gravestones and trees. Logan brought out a voice recorder and they started asking questions.

After a while, they went back to their car and sat for a while. Virgil checked the time, 12:27am. He sighed and went through the pictures he took on his phone.

His eyes widened when he saw something in one of the trees. It looked like a man was hanging from a rope by the neck.

"G-guys? Please tell me my eyes are deceiving me!" Virgil yelled, handing the phone to Thomas. Thomas had the same reaction as Virgil and passed the phone to Logan.

They all looked around after seeing the rest of the photos. There was nothing there. Or at least, they didn't see anything there.

Thomas struggled to put the keys in to start the car. His hands were shaking badly, his anxiety meeting Virgil's.

The boys were silently shaking in fear. Roman keeping a protective ground next to Logan and Patton while Virgil helped Thomas with the keys.

Then they hear the drums.
Bam. Bambam. Bam. Bambam.
T

hey froze, listening to the rhythm. It sounded like it was coming from a bush but no one had the courage to see.

Thomas got the key into the slot and the car came alive. He turned the headlights on and drove off, back towards the direction of the exit.
(it auto corrected "car" as "cat" and I almost left it as "the cat came alive" because I wasn't paying attention XD)

On the ride back to their hotel, they listened to the voice recording.

Patton: Do you feel like people respect you?

-male voice- y̸e̸s̸...

Virgil: Do you want us to leave?

Thomas: Are there any kids here?

-male voice- i̸ t̸h̸i̸n̸k̸ s̸o̸...

Logan: How did you die?

-female voice- g̸u̸n̸ s̸h̸o̸t̸

They decided that that was enough spooky things for a while and wanted to sleep on it. As soon as they got to their hotel room, they all got onto one bed and snuggled each other.

Mostly because they were scared that one of the ghosts followed them.
