Roman smiled slightly as he sat next to a sleeping Virgil on the bed. He gently ran his fingers through the end hair before leaving the room. His eyes filled with unshed tears but he refused go show sadness.

And I will make sure to keep my distance
Say "I love you" when you're not listening
And how long can we keep this up, up, up?

Virgil had started noticing Romans weird behavior. Whenever Virgil came into the room or wanted to hang out with the prince, Roman always made an excuse to go to the Imagination.

Roman, despite knowing Virgil could never love him back, would always murmur some form of an 'i love you'. He hated having to avoid the darker side just so he wouldn't show how much it hurt to not be able to show how much he loved Virgil.

Please don't stand so close to me

It was famILY movie night and Roman was forced to sit next to Virgil. The prince couldn't concentrate on the movie playing (which was Big Hero 6, thanks to Logan) and was trying not to break down as his heart twisted.

You keep waiting to save what we have

Roman quietly excused himself and went to his room. As soon as he quietly shut his door, all the tears spilled and he broke. It hurt, it really truly did. He loved Virgil with all his heart but he knew that all he's only considered as a friend to Virgil.

Virgil's eyes filled with tears as he looked in the direction of Romans room, longing for the prince to hold him and shower him in affection.

Roman curled up in a ball on his floor, no longer caring if anyone heard his broken sobs. He ignored the knock on his door, not caring about anything anymore.

Virgil knocked on the door once more. "R-Roman..?" Virgil asked in a hushed tone. Roman didn't reply.

The emo leaned his back against the door and slid down to the floor as he silently sobbed. He hated showing how weak he was but he felt broken hearted.
