"Rosanna.." Virgil saw Rosanna leaning against the door frame of the room.

"Virgil..." She walked up to him. "Congratulations."

He looked at her confused. He didn't know what she meant.

"You have invented a new kind of stupid. "A damage you can never undo" kind of stupid... An "open all the cages in the zoo" kind of stupid... "Truly, you didn't think this through?" kinda stupid!" Rose shouted at Virgil. He flinched slightly. "Ok, lets review: You took a rumor a few, maybe two, people knew and refuted it by sharing an affair of which no one accused you!"

Virgil went to say something but Rosanna wasn't finished. She continued, "I begged you to take a break but you refused to! You're so scared of what your enemies will do to you... But you're the only enemy you seem to lose to." She glared at him. "Ya know why Deceit can do what he wants? He doesn't dignify school-yard taunts with a response!" She poked him in the chest accusingly. "So yeah, congratulations!"

"Rosanna...!" Virgil spoke up. Rose ignored and turned her back towards him.

"You've redefined your legacy, congratulations-" She got interrupted by Virgil.

"It was an act of political sacrifice!" He argued, guilt and anger in his tone.

"Sacrifice?!" She spun around and faced him. "I languished in a loveless marriage in London, I lived only to read your letters! I look at you and think, "God what have we done with our lives? And what did it get us?" but that doesn't wipe the tears or the years away. And I'm back in the city and I'm here to stay! I know what I'm here to do..."

Virgil wrapped his arm around her waist. "Rosanna..."

Rosanna pushed him away and walked away from him. "I'm not here for you... I know my brother like I know my own mind! You will never fine anyone as trusting or as kind!"

Virgil had a look of guilt on his face as he remembered how happy Maria was and how he actually showed more emotions.

"And a million years ago he said to me: "This one's mine!" so I stood by... Do you know why?" Rose looked at the man, a hurt expression on her face. "I love my brother more than anything in this life! I would choose his happiness over mine every time! Maria..."

"Maria..."

"...is the best thing in our lives! So never lose sight of the fact that you have been blessed with the best husband!" She wiped her tears away and looked at him dead in the eye. "But yeah congratulations-"

"Rosanna..." He stood a foot in front of her.

"-for the rest of your life! Every sacrifice you make is for my brother, give him the best life!" She pushed Virgil and he fell to the ground. She walked towards the door and looked back at him. "Congratulations."

She slammed the door shut as she left the room. She spotted Maria down the hall staring at her before going back into his room.
