After the current events of what just happened, everyone else was confused. None of them could find the right words to start a conversation. Bucky hasn't said anything in about fifteen minutes since the incident, as he's trying to get his thoughts straight, as he has a little guilt in him about what he had said.
But it's too late to say anything to Eliza, because she's gone, and no one knows where she has gone.
"Can someone tell me what the fuck happened?!" Sam exclaims as literally no one has been talking for almost half an hour and it was starting to piss him off.
"Well obviously something happened because Eliza disappeared." Nat says stating the obvious about the situation. Bucky still doesn't say anything as he's trying to process what just happened, and wishes that he knew where Eliza could have gone, but he has nothing.
"What the hell happened?" Caleb says as he may not be one to get mad and or cuss, he couldn't help it this time.
"What do you think happened?! I snapped on my daughter and now she left! What do you think happened?!" Bucky roars as he couldn't control his anger let out of the incident.
"Okay no need to be like that Buck." Sam says as Bucky tries not to do anything that he will regret even more, than he already does regret at the moment. Bucky tries everything that he can not to snap again on anyone as he's a ticking bomb right now and the lightest thing now will tick him off.
Bucky takes a deep breath to calm him down, as he never got mad at Eliza, they may have their disagreements sometimes and little petty arguments, but never to this extreme. He tries not to cry or show any emotion right now but he doesn't know how long he can hold his emotions in.
"Okay, Liza used her powers to stop the time so that you guys wouldn't say and or do anything. Then we had the argument and it got so bad that we both said things that we regret, and now she's gone and I don't know where the hell she went. I said everything out of anger, and I didn't mean it." Bucky says explaining and everyone is silent as it would make sense that Eliza would stop the time because she didn't want anyone else saying anything and or trying to stop it.
"When you put it that way, it does make sense." Caleb says trying to lighten the tension up but it's no use. It's still there, and there's no chance that it will ever go down, at least until they get onto Eliza, while also dealing with John Walker.
"Any ideas where she could have gone?" Yelena asks, finally saying something that almost everyone but Adeline and Nat forgot that she was even there. All Bucky did was shake his head, and everyone sighed a little.
"But first thing first, we have somewhere to go." Bucky says as everyone looks at him, confused, of what the hell he just said, even if he was speaking in English this time.
"Who?" All of them had said to the ex Winter Soldier.

Some hours later
The entire afternoon later, Sam stands beside Bucky watching as he tries to convince a boy about eighteen or so, to let them into the green gated door of a wide suburban house. The rest of the gang are going to be waiting outside, as Bucky doesn't want all of them walking into the house and another incident happens.
"Tell him the guy for the bar in Goyang is here." Bucky says as his voice was low and reserved. "He's gonna know what that means."
Moments later the heavy door swings open and Sam and Bucky are slowly allowed into the dimly lit house, each step echoing in the quiet that awaits them. A broad-shouldered man with wrinkled dark skin stands amidst the silence, eyes shadowed and painfully focused.
"Isaiah?" Bucky says as he leads Sam closer to the man in front of them.
"Look at you..." The man says taking a few steps forward as well, his head tilted back.
"This is uh, Sam." The man's eyes linger on the other black man in the room for a beat before darting back at Bucky. "Sam, this is Isaiah. He was a hero. One of the one's that HYDRA feared the most, like Steve. We met in '51."
"If by 'met', you mean I whipped your ass, then..." Isaiah's low voice rasps out. "Yeah."
Despite everything that had happened recently in the day, Bucky felt himself smirking at the man.
"We heard whispers he was on the peninsula, but everyone they sent after him never came back. So the US military dropped me behind the line to go deal with him."
"I took that metal arm in that fight in Goyang, but I see he's managed to grow it back. "I just want to see if he got the arm back...or if he'd come to kill me."
"I'm not a killer anymore. I'm done with that." Bucky says defending himself with slightly narrowed eyes at Isaiah.
"You think you can wake up one day and decide who you want to be? It doesn't work like that. Well maybe it does for you..." Isaiah says, mirroring the two men, a smile on his lips, when he sharply glances at Bucky.
"Isaiah, the reason we're here is because there's more of you, me, out there." Bucy says struggling to find the right words to say to the man.
"You and me." Isaiah repeats with vehemence.
"And we need to know how."
"I'm not gonna talk about it anymore!" Isaiah yells.
Grasping onto a small rectangular tin, Isaiah turns and hurls it across the room with such strength that it splints straight through the wall. Sam's eyes snap wide as they stare at the metal case now completely embedded into the solid wood. The boy who is probably the same age as Adeline looks down and a worried chill raises the fine hairs on both Sam and Bucky's hand.
"You know what they did to me for being a hero?" Isaiah steps slowly closer, a limp in one leg, pain in both eyes, hand smacking the center of his chest. "They put my ass in jail for thirty years! People running tests, taking my blood, coming into my cell!"
Isaiah jabs a shaking finger at Bucky's chest. "Even your people weren't done with me!"
Sam's eyes glimmer with tears of his own. "Isaiah..."
"Get out of my house!" Isaiah screams a broken sound, overcome with pain, fear and rage.
Sam flinches back accidentally bumping into Bucky's flesh arm. The father of Eliza turns away immediately, respecting the man's request. His grandson turns them around, quickly ushering them towards the front door.
"I'm sorry..." Were all the words that Bucky could manage to say to Isaiah who doesn't say anything as he walks out with Sam in tow. Sam's feet are pounding the aged wooden steps as he moves towards the empty street.
"Sam..." Bucky says to the man, but he turns around with an angry look on his face. At this point Bucky is tired of people yelling at him, first with Eliza, which he didn't mean at all, second with Isaiah, and now with Sam. This is just a shit day for him, and he just wants to wake up hoping that this is just a dream, but it is nowhere near that reality.
"Why didn't you tell me about Isaiah?! How could nobody bring him up?!" Sam exclaims angrily to the man and when he doesn't respond, Sam looks back at him. "I asked you a question, Bucky."
"I know." Bucky mutters to Sam as his hands are now buried deep in the pockets of his jacket.
"Did Steve know about him?" Sam asks as everyone else couldn't find the right words to say as they're developing a plan and thinking about where Eliza could be at, but they have nothing.
"He didn't." Bucky confirms quietly. "I did tell him to anyone, not even Liza."
Sam comes to a sudden stop, pointing back to the unsuspecting house. "So you're telling me that there was a black supersoldier decades ago and nobody knew about it."
But the tires rolling across the concrete and when a siren whoops nearby everyone quickly looks up to find a police car pulling around the corner towards them.
"Hey!"
Sam tenses but keeps his voice casual like nothing happened. "What's up, man?"
"Is there a problem here?" One officer calls out.
"No, we're just talking.
Both of the officers step out of the police car, their hands hovering over their weapons as they step closer to the gang and pace around Bucky and Sam.
"We're fine." Bucky assures them that he is annoyed at being interrupted.
They're looking solely at Sam now, approaching him slowly. "Can I see your ID?"
Nat slowly puts the things together and quickly digs in her pocket to find her old SHIELD ID, and when she does she lets out a sigh of relief as she walks towards the situation that's going on in the middle of the road.
"Sir, they're with me." Nat says as the police officers and Bucky and Sam turn to her.
"I thought that Black Widow was dead?" One of the two officers asks the woman, as she nods her head in agreement.
"I obviously haven't just been laying low, for a while." Nat says truthfully as she knows that it's a felony to lie to an officer, no matter how much that she wanted to do so.
"Fine. But Barnes is arrested for missing his court mandated therapy, and he has to be taken to the big house." The other officer says to the woman that she glances at Bucky and he doesn't say anything but looks at the ground.
"That is alright sir." Nat says as Bucky immediately glances up at her, like she has multiple heads, as she nods her head, mouthing that she will bail him out, as she has the money. Once Bucky catches on to what she had said, he nods his head at her, as the officers take him to their car.
Three more hours later
The interior door of the Baltimore police station buzzes, and Bucky isn't released from custody.
Sam has been sitting in the waiting room, and after what feels like forever Bucky walks in and he doesn't seem happy at all. Sam gets up from his spot and walks over to Bucky.
"Hey, before you say anything. I'm sorry about what happened today." Sam says to Bucky and the man doesn't even look up at him or say and or do anything, he just stares at the floor.
"It's my fault." Bucky is finally saying something for a while now, and Sam looks up at Bucky wanting to know what he meant by that.
"What do you mean?" Sam asks him and Bucky lets out a sigh, before saying.
"It's my fault that all of this happened. If I had been understanding none of this would have happened, and now I don't know where the fuck my daughter is." Bucky says keeping his voice low so no one else will hear what they are talking about.
"It's not your fault. I'm the one who should really be apologizing. I should have also told you that I gave up the shield." Sam says trying to somewhat lighten the mood at least for now until Dr. Raynor gets here.
Bucky gives him a faint smile but before he can say anything the door opens and Dr. Raynor is approaching them with a coat and bag over her shoulder.;
Raynor stops when she gets to Bucky and Sam who are looking at her. The woman looks at Sam. "I'm Doctor Raynor, I'm James' therapist. So nice to meet you."
Sam nods with a polite expression on his face. "Thank you for getting him out."
"That was not me." Raynor says and before anyone can say anything an infamous voice shouts.
"Christina!" The voice of John Walker shouts as he's taking selfies amongst civilians and officers alike. "It's great to see you again."
"You gotta be kidding me." Sam grumbles scoffing under his breath. "You know him?"
"Yeah." The therapist replies carefully, " We did some field ops back in the day."
The same man who is in some twisted version of Steve's suit steps closer, and confident with a grin on his face. "I heard you were working with Bucky and his brat so I thought I'd step in."
"James now." Raynor says before turning to Sam. "You too Mr. Wilson." The two men don't question her and they follow Raynor, into an interrogation room around a small metal table.
Sam and Bucky are sitting side-by-side, and neither of them seem interested in being here.
"So..." The therapist glances at the two men's faces. "Who would like to start?"
"All right, look, Doctor Raynor?" Sam says and the woman confirms her name he nods and continues. "I get it, why you want to talk to Freaky Magoo over here? But I'm 100% fine."
Raynor sighs. "It is my job to make sure that James is okay. And so, yeah this may be slightly unprofessional, but it's the only way that I can see if he is getting over whatever's eating at them.
"This is ridiculous." Sam says.
"Yeah." Bucky quickly adds. "I agree."
"See?" Raynor motions to the man. "Look at the both of you, making progress already. So, who wants to go first?"
"No volunteers? Wow. How surprising." She heaves out a sigh flipping open Bucky's client file. "Okay. We're going to do an exercise. It's something I use with couples when they are trying to figure out what kind of life they wanna build together."
"Are the both of you familiar with the miracle question?" Raynor asks.
"Absolutely not." Sam says.
"No." Bucky says.
"Okay what it is it goes like this: suppose that while you're sleeping, a miracle occurs. When you wake up, what is something that you would like to see that would make your life better?"
Answer immediately now ready, Bucky clears his throat. "In my miracle, Sam would...Sam would talk less."
The other man snidely cuts in. "Exactly what I was going to say. Isn't that ironic."
"You two are leaving me with no choice!" Raynor talks over the two of them. "It's time for the soul-gazing exercise."
The two men begin to shuffle around legs of metal chairs scraping the concrete, knees uncomfortably knocking voices arguing left and right.
As they continue to argue and bicker about which way to go. Sam suddenly reaches around, and grabs hold of Bucky's chair and then drags him closer. When they are finally where Raynor wants them to be.
Sam and Bucky have their little staring contest like they had earlier, with their eyes narrowed as if they're having a conversation in their heads.
"James, it's your turn. Why does Sam aggravate you?" Bucky opens his mouth with a snarky grin but Raynar quickly cuts him off and Sam is watching his every move.
"...and don't say anything childish."
Bucky's grin fades, and his jaw shifts as his expression grows more complicated. "Why did you give up the shield?"
"Oh my God..." Sam says blinking quickly up at the ceiling, expression flickering with disbelief. "Why are you making such a big deal out of something that has nothing to do with you?"
"Steve believed in you and Liza. He trusted you two. He gave you that shield for a reason." Bucky says looking at him from across a furrowed brow, his voice quiet but is building up with emotion. "That shield, that is...that is everything he stood for! That is his legacy. He gave you that shield, and you threw it away like it was nothing."
Sam's voice hardens now, especially that Bucky had brought up Eliza. "All right, shut up before you say anything that you regret for the second time today."
"So maybe he was wrong about you!" Bucky says as his voice keeps growing more pained, and more desperate as his eyes grow wide and fill with tears as he leans forward to a whisper. "And if he was wrong about you, then he was wrong about me!" He falls back into his seat.
Finally Sam grits his teeth. "You finished?" Bucky glances at Sam before swallowing hard. "Yeah."
"All right, good. Maybe this is something you or Steve will never understand. But can you accept that I did what I thought was right?"
Bucky looks down at his wrist and sees a bracelet that Eliza had made a while back when he was in Wakanda, and he grazes a finger across it as it has little words that spell out Dad.
After a moment Sam lets out a quiet scoff and glances at the therapist. "You know what, Doc? I don't have time for this. We have some real serious shit going on. So how about this?" Sam says then he turns back to Bucky, all eyes on him as he decides. "I will squash it right now. We deal with that, and when we're done, we can go separate ways, long vacations and never see each other again."
"I like that." Bucky slowly agrees before anything else can be said.
"Great. Well, let's get to work." Sam agrees tightly, head swiveling towards his therapist with a sardonic grin. "Thanks Doc, for making it weird! I feel much better. I'll see you outside."
Slowly Bucky walks out of the police station, without saying another word to Sam. Eventually the two of them stand in a line, two awkwardly staring into the cool Baltimore night.
After a brief discussion with the infamous John Walker for like the second time today, Bucky gulped a little knowing what would come next. A million thoughts are spirling in his head at the moment, and it's getting him a headache to say the least.
One; his daughter is somewhere in the world.
Two; he doesn't know where she is.
Three; the Flag Smasher shit going on right now.
Four; he just wants to find his daughter.
Five; they have to go and get Zemo out of prison and start from there.
"Okay here's the plan?" Bucky says outloud to Sam and the black man doesn't even say anything, as he's trying to process everything that had happened in that entire day.
"Do I want to know?" Sam grumbles to the ex winter soldier.
"For one, we have to go back to Germany to get someone who can help us. Two; we need the rest of the gang. Three; we need a jet." Bucky says listing the plan with his fingers and Sam turns to give him a look.
"Why do we have to go back to Germany? We just came from Germany. Now we have to go back to Germany. Just fucking great." Sam grumbles as Bucky grabs the ball that was in his pocket the entire time, and he starts squeezing it.
"Unless you want to stay here." Bucky says as he grabs his phone and gives Sam a look, and the black man sighs. "When Isaiah said 'my people'..."
"Oh, don't take that to heart." Sam interrupts steadily. "That's not what the meant."
"No he meant HYDRA. HYDRA used to be my people." Bucky says clearing it a little more and that's when it immediately clears what the man is trying to say.
"Walker doesn't have any leads--" Bucky says, continuing before Sam can even say anything.
"I already know where you're going with this, and I'm going to speak for the rest of us, when I say it's a shit idea."
"Well, I appreciate your faith, Sam, but he knows all of HYDRA's secrets. Don't you remember what happened in Siberia?"
"You're just gonna sit in a room with this guy?" Sam asks, squinting his eyes.
"Ye--" Bucky says hesitating, not clearly loving his own idea. "Yes."
"Okay, then." Sam says after sighing really reluctantly. "We're gonna go see Zemo."
"No first, we gotta make a call. Then we can go see Zemo." Bucky says as he clicks on Natasha's number and then when the oldest redhead answers, he quickly tells her the plan.
"Okay see, you guys soon." Bucky says as he then hangs up the phone, and puts it in his back pocket.
