wow, really 2018 was a hell of a year. it's been a year of mistakes and learned lessons. it's been a year of fun time and important responsibilities. i've learned a lot and i've gained a lot and i wanted to end 2018 on a happy note.

i want to end it with goodness and with passion. with a smile promising for more to come in the future. i want to end it with love. to tell everyone that things will be okay as long as you love, as long as you give and receive love, as long as you love who you are and the people and the places around you.

thank you for support and for staying by my side when i needed you the most. thank you from the bottom of my heart.

i love you guys. forever.❤❤

3rd POV

The chilly breeze caressed her face harshly, however she didn't mind the cold. Leaning on the balcony, which overlooked the garden full of hyped people, Ariana took a deep breath.

It was almost midnight.

It was almost new year.

It somehow scared her. But it amazed her as well, how things come and go and with a tick of the clock, time moves and her life turns another page.

"Aren't you going to join the others downstairs? The countdown is about to start."

Shawn must have noticed her absence since he was now coming towards her.

"Nah, I'm good here." She smiled.

He took a seat next to her and watched his friends fall over some chairs in a drunk mess. Mum was certainly going to be mad about it later.

"You know, I thought 2018 was going to be more fun."

"It sucked." Ariana couldn't have been more straight-forward. "It sucked, but it's all good now. It's almost over."

"Do you mean that I sucked too?!" Shawn threw her a cheerful look and Ari just laughed at his comment.

"No, you were okay."

Shawn's eyebrows arched. "Okay? Miss, I'm hurt."

She smiled at him for trying so hard to play butthurt and blew an invisible kiss that he pretended to catch with a burning passion.

"You were amazing. You made these past months literally the best thing of this year."

Shawn shrugged as if it was the most humble thing whilst standing up. "I'm just happy we fixed our little misunderstanding."

"When you say fixed, you mean we had lots of sex." Ari said and a faint blush painted Shawn's cheeks.

"Well." He looked everywhere but at her. "That too."

For a moment, they let the shouts from downstairs fill their ears and chose to hush the words away. However, the silence didn't last for long.

"I know we already discussed this, but whatever comes next just know that I'll be there for you. As a friend. I'll support you."

He watched her features turn into a soft smile, a graceful gesture that made his heart thump a bit faster.

"9"

"Thank you. That means a lot." She said, her voice as fragile as glass.

"And I know that we settled for friends. But feel free to cross the line whenever it feels like it."

Ariana looked at him surprised, noticing the humorous smirk toying on his lips.

She leaned off the ledge.

"How about now?"

Shawn chuckled a little and approached her painfully slow.

"Now?! That seems alright."

They were standing in front of each other, eyes locked, heartbeats in sync. The world burned alive, but to them it didn't matter.

"2"

Shawn lifted a hand to brush the hair out of her face. "Here's to a better future."

They both leaned in, foreheads touching. If Ari pouted even a bit, their lips would touch and they could finally sink in the torching pleasure.

"1"

"Happy New Year, Shawn!"

Her whisper drowned in the sea of screams as the clock ticked away the start of a new chapter.

It's officially over, I cannot believe it. It has been since February 2019 that I started this book and it's finished. It ended just like that.

I simply cannot believe it.
