Sophie the Clutz

" Hey, ready for another grueling practice today?" Biana asked Sophie as they walked slowly to the soccer fields.

" I guess." Sophie said slowly.

" Uh, at least we don't have to practice with the boys. I'm sure I would fall at least a hundred times more than I usually do." Biana twirled a finger in her hair nervously.

" Biana!" Sophie exclaimed, " You don't even fall! I'm the total clutz here."

" Yep," Biana nodded. " But it's funny," She started to giggle but stopped when Sophie  glared at her. " Oops."

" Alright!" Coach Smith called when everyone had warmed up. " We're going to be joining the boys in the next field over today to play a practice  game."

Sophie groaned loudly. Biana was practically floating in the air.

All in all, both Fitz and Keefe were on the boys team. Sophie knew that they knew she was a total clutz,  but still she didn't want them to see how terrible she was.

" Foster!" Keefe high fived her when they walked passed the bench. Fitz just smiled at her.

Sophie's inner butterflies took a nervous dive and she put a hand on her stomach to calm them down.

" You ok, Soph?" Biana asked, peering at her. " Look, coach smith wants you to kick the opening ball."

" No!" Sophie shouted, then felt red creeping up her neck. " I mean, sorry there was a bee on my leg."

Coach Smith fired Sophie a look that said, yeah sure, now get a move on.

Sophie swallowed and walked up to the ball. She swung her leg back and kicked- but instead fell flat on her back.

Not again, she thought with embarrassment. At least she'd kicked the ball. Sophie sat up to look, but the ball was right in the same place it'd been. Great.

" Sophie the clutz!" Keefe yelled from the sidelines. She glared at him, and he sat back down.

" Gee Sophie, I'm sorry," Biana offered a hand to help her up. Sophie took it and rubbed her sore bottom. " I'm done," She hissed. " This is the last practice I'm ever coming to."

" What?" Biana looked shocked.

" I suck at this," Sophie whined just as their coach walked over. " Get up Sophie, and kick that ball. You've got this." Coach Smith smiled at her.

Sophie walked over to the ball and brought her leg back carefully this time. She remembered what her coach had said. Eye on the ball.

Sophie kicked, closed her eyes, and heard everyone cheering! She'd kicked it!

" Still gonna quit?" Biana asked with a smile.

" No," Sophie smiled back.

" Glad to hear."
