A/n: i survived my exams somehow... so... hi

Jimin stared at the view from his bedroom window and watched the sun shine onto the world.

The people drank wine mixed with water to still their heavy thirst, and it was as though the nation itself glowed, sunshine radiating outwards from within the people's bones.

The kingdom was vibrant. Lively. Joyful. A perfect picture of prosperity.

Yet prince Jimin's eyes began to hurt.

He shook his head when the world grew far too vivid for him to witness, and buried his face in his hands.

Don't hide son...

"I- I can't... It hurts..."

Open your eyes now.

The prince felt dizzy. He rubbed his eyes but did as he'd been told, squinting carefully into the light like a newborn.

The world was etched in charcoal.

Whatever light there had been before, had been stolen and replaced by a thick darkness that reached even into the heart of the capital. It was as though someone had spilled a cup of ink over the city and doused it in a gloomy, Tartarean state.

Down in the streets there were no people to be found, and a ghost town of what used to be was all that lay ahead. There were only shadows - dark phantoms that strolled through the streets like the grey clouds that strayed in the night.

It was a haunting sight. One that would frighten even the most ruthless of barbarians. Yet the Kind Prince of Delos carried a soft, gentle smile as he stared at it all, his eyes black like a star-less night.

At least his head no longer hurt. At least now his eyes could stay open.

"Jiminie~ you should wake up. The execution starts in an hour and you're not even dressed yet."

Jimin jolted upright and gasped for air.

Taehyung flinched away from his friend and yelped. "Jimin? What's the matter? Are you okay? Your servants tried to wake you earlier, but you wouldn't open your eyes."

Jimin snapped his head towards his bedroom window, taking in as much air a he could with each quickened breath.

The day was young, the sky a miryad of pastel colours as the sun peeked just above the distant hills.

There was no darkness to be found.

Jimin stumbled out of bed, nearly tripping over his bare feet as he ran straight towards his vanity table.

"Jimin... talk to me," Taehyung begged as he watched his friend scramble to pick up a small golden handmirror. "Did you have a nightmare?"

Jimin stared at his reflection and touched his face, looking deeply into his own dark brown eyes that twinkled in the light of the sun.

"I - I need a moment please..." the prince whispered, staring at himself without blinking, frowning as he gazed into his own eyes. "I - I'll be right there..."

"Jiminie..."

"Out!" Jimin snapped

Taehyung whimpered and walked backwards out of the room. "By Zeus.... Jimin, have you gone mad?!"

"So what if I have!"

The young prince screamed, tears falling from his eyes as he threw his mirror to his bed.

The boy hung his shoulders low and buried his face in his hands as his shoulders shook.

"Why me? " He cried out, sniffing quietly.

"Why me?"

The town square before the palace was surrounded by a crowd full of cheering men, women and children who were celebrating as though the day was a festive one.

Jimin stared at the scene, and at executioner who stood masked in the middle of the townsquare.

"What a creep," Taehyung mumbled, following Jimin's stare.

The redheaded prince sat next to Jimin at a long table set on a tall stage.

Along with many other royal guests who had come to witness the execution of the demigod, the princes had been given front-row seats on the killing for the very best sight. They would be able to hear every bone crack, every last breath taken, and every plead for mercy cried out to the gods.

"I usually enjoy executions," Taehyung continued as he picked at his manicured nails. "But only when the prisoners are ugly."

Jimin heard Yoongi scoff and expected a cheeky remark to be thrown, but oddly enough the King of The Styx remained silent.

Jimin turned his head towards his redheaded friend and parted his lips to speak, but was interrupted.

"It's okay," Taehyung whispered as though he could read his friend's mind. He gave Jimin a knowing smirk. "I forgive you... we are royals... we all must have our crazy moments every now and then."

"MEN AND WOMEN OF DELOS!"

The people quiteted down upon hearing their prince regent's voice, who rose from his seat and took a confident stance before speaking further.

"Today is the day we shall take out our vangeance on the Gods!"

The people clapped and whistled for their crownprince with love-filled eyes, eager to hear anything the man had to say as though he knew the first thing about protecting them.

Jimin looked away, a bitter feeling rising in his chest.

Jealous?

"My friends, I have heard your cries," Namjoon continued, coming forward to stroll across the stage and look each of his subjects in the eyes. "I have listened to your desire for justice and I have seen your longing for freedom."

The skin around Namjoon's dragon-like eyes tightened. "Today is the day we show the gods we are not afraid. We will show them what the consequences are of their savage ways!"

Loud cheers errupted from the crowd once more, followed by roars that craved for blood and revenge.

Namjoon nodded in satisfaction at the response, looking around at his subjects with fire burning in his eyes.

"We have tried, haven't we?" He asked sincerely, holding out his hands. "We have tried to let the bastards of the gods walk among us...  but they have betrayed our trust one final time my friends, and I say no more!"

The people only grew louder.

"You say no more!"

Jimin looked up at his older brother as the man's voice was drowned out by the enlivened crowd. Namjoon launched his fist into the air, the veins in his neck popping from the intensity of his words.

"The gods will not be left unpunished! He bellowed. "The gods are not our kings and they will pay for taking my father! They will pay for taking our true king!"

Jimin cringed at the people's dramatic screams and their complete lack of rational thinking.

They know nothing... you know they are fools, Jimin.

"BRING IN THE DEMIGOD!"

A scream echoed from far in the distance, accompanied by the click clacks of a galloping horse that raced towards the townsquare with mighty steps.

Jimin's breath hitched, and the people exploded in celebration as the cries of fear seemed to belong to none other than the son of Apollo.

A snow-white mare dashed towards the townsquare, and behind it, the demigod was left to drag after the animal with no way of escaping, a noose tied tightly around his neck while both his hands and feet were chained together.

"How cruel..." Taehyung whispered as the people watched the demigod be dragged across the ground like a ragdoll. "He had such a pretty face..."

The people stared with open mouths, and Namjoon watched the scene with an amused expression until the half-god stopped screaming.

He raised his hand, signing a guard to come forward and take the horse's reins.

The demigod whimpered and cried, his body trembling and twitching as though it hadn't yet realised the torture had stopped.

"Untie him from the horse," Namjoon ordered, sitting up straighter in his seat.

"I want him dead now."

Jungkook shook his head when four guards came to carry him to his end.

"N-No p-please don't do this! I am innocent I promise you! Please! Your Highness! You must listen to me!"

Jimin looked away, rhythmically clenching his fists under the table as he tried to calm his rapid heartbeat.

"Jiminie..."

Namjoon took Jimin's chin between his fingers and turned the boy's attention back to the spectacle before them.

"I need you to watch this with me brother," he whispered. "It is my first execution, I would like for you to remember it."

Jimin nodded mindlessly, fluttering his eyes when he watched the guards bring a noose around the demigod's neck.

"Don't look at me..." Jimin whispered to himself. "Don't find me..."

Jungkook's eyes widened for a split second when they landed on Jimin and stayed glued to him and him alone.

"Please!" Jungkook yelled, rattling his chains. "I know you don't believe I harmed the king! You know I could never do such a thing!"

Jimin shook his head, closing his eyes at the boy's pleads.

"No one cares about your innocence  you fool..." He whispered. "All they care about is seeing blood..."

"Speak your last words now demigod!" Namjoon ordered. "You have one minute before your soul will be taken by the river of The Styx..."

Jungkook cried through gritted teeth and released desperate sobs.

"Father!" He screamed, looking up at the azure sky and squinting into the fierce sun. "Father I curse you!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.

"I swear by the waters of The Styx you son of a cock juggling thunder cunt! Fuck... shit. I - I can't believe this is happening... I can't believe I'm going to die a virgin..."

Jimin's lips broke apart, and the people's shouting slowly began to die out.

"What the..."

"Barnacles on a stick!" Jungkook yelled. "This is all your fault father! If I ever see you I will drag your guts through your asshole! You better wait! I'll kill you I promise!"

Jungkook's face paled to a shade close to white. "Oh by Zeus no! Jin will kill me if I die..."

The boy began to pull at his chains yet again, struggling against the noose tied around his neck.

"He hasn't even been able to explain to me what mushrooms are the best aphrodisiacs! Please don't kill me! I'm not ready to die Your Highness!"

People in the crowd began to chuckle, and other royal guests started to gossip among themselves, but Jimin could only stare.

His mind was buffering trying to understand what on earth was going through the demigod's mind. Had his mother perhaps dropped him as a child?

"What a half-wit," Yoongi chuckled.

"A hilarious half-wit," Taehyung added.

Namjoon's eyes shifted left to right to his council and his friends.

"Enough," the man said finally, sweat forming along his browbone.

"Your execution starts now you filthy bastard," he hissed at the half-god. "You are no longer welcome in the realm of humans."

Jimin chewed his lips before turning to his brother, blurting out words he was unable to stop.

"Namjoon... think this through, please, we do not know for certain if -"

"Be silent!" Namjoon ordered.  The prince regent gave his brother a murderous glare and waved his hand.

"Pull up the rope. Now."

"No! Brother!"

The executioner pulled at the rope tied around Jungkook's neck, and all that the demigod could emit now were choking noises, his feet bit by bit lifting off of the ground.

Jimin's shook his head as tears welled in his eyes. "No... please..."

A loud, orchestral, cracking sound that came from the heavens above split the people's skulls.

The ether rumbled, and the ground shook from the resonating sound alone.

"FIND COVER!" Guards yelled when the wind gushed through the townsquare and bended the trees with it's might.

Poison seeped into the azure sky. A dark, ominous colour mixing in with the bright blue and slowly turning it dreadfully grey.

The people looked up in horror, some screaming as they pointed at the sight.

"Everyone!" Namjoon jumped up from his seat. "Retreat to your homes now!"

Time seemed to speed up far too much for Jimin to keep up with, leaving the prince to be carried by the waves and go with the flow of his surroundings.

Guards hurried all the royal guests inside the palace and the crowd discarted immediately.

There was chaos. Confusion. And Jimin knew deep in his heart, that the gods had just made their second move.
