Rachel Stark is a hero. At least, she was. When her father, Tony, died to defeat Thanos, she lost it. She went mad trying to bring her parents back to life. At least, in your universe, she did.

In this one, she didn't.

-

Rachel fell to her knees in front of her father's body. She couldn't breathe. Couldn't think.

"Dad? No...No! He's not dead! Dad, wake up! Tony! Please..." She sobbed, holding his hand tightly, praying for a squeeze, a twitch, something. "Please..."

Pepper pulled her from the body. Abbi put a hand on the girl's shoulder.

"Darling, he's gone," Catty said softly, the words echoing around Rachel's head like it was an empty cave.

Gone.

Gone.

Gone...

-

Rachel sat in Morgan's room, brushing her little sister's hair.

"Rachie! Can you braid my hair, pleaseeee?" Morgan asked, eyes pleading.

Rachel smiled, running her fingers through her sister's silk-soft hair. "Of course, Sweetheart," she replied. "Hair tie?" Morgan handed Rachel a rubber band and sat still. The redhead smiled, her hands working deftly to french braid Morgan's hair.

It had been two months since Tony had died. Rachel had found out about his and Pepper's daughter, and the two girls became close quickly. Rachel was elated to be a big sister, and Morgan was happy to finally meet Rachel, the sister she'd heard about all her life.

Pepper stuck her head in the door. "Hurry, girls! Remember, Peter and May are coming for dinner," she said with a smile.

"Petey!" Morgan said excitedly, bouncing in her chair.

Rachel put a hand on her sister's head, holding her still. "I'm not done braiding, yet! And besides, Pete and May aren't even here yet."

Rachel smiled to herself at the thought of her boyfriend coming over for dinner. She knew her family liked him, as they'd known him before they started dating. It just felt so right to have Peter and May around. Like they were all meant to be together.

May, along with being her boyfriend's caregiver, was like a second mother to Rachel. After Rebecca died, Rachel felt all alone. She lashed out at her father more often, until she usually ended up running off for a day or two. That usually ended up with her at Steve or Rhodey's place. But eventually, they got tired of hearing about her fights with Tony. So when May invited her in, it seemed like a lifesaver.

Now Tony was gone, but Rachel still stayed the night at the Parker's. It was different, to spend time with people you loved because you wanted to and not because your father had bitch-slapped you.

Rachel finished braiding Morgan's hair. "All done!" she declared as she stood.

The little girl hugged her sister tightly. "Yay! Thank you, Rachie!"

The redhead kissed Morgan's head. "Of course, Morg." She grinned. "Now, come on. Peter'll be here soon."

Morgan's eyes lit up. "Petey!" With that, she ran to the front door.

Rachel followed her baby sister with a sigh. She swore on her life that she would take care of Morgan. She loved her sister with all her heart. Maybe, at first, she'd seen Morgan as her replacement. But now she knew that her sister was just a miracle. Miracle Morgan.

The two girls reached the foyer and saw a familiar pair.

"Petey!" Morgan yelled, running into the boy's arms. He picked her up with ease, chuckling.

Rachel walked over and kissed her boyfriend's cheek. "Hey, Peter," she said softly.

He returned the gesture, his cheeks flushed. "Hey, Rach. How are you feeling?" he asked.

She took a breath. How was she feeling? The loss of her only living parent was still fresh. She did have Pepper and Morgan, however. All in all, she guessed-

"Great. I'm feeling great," she said.

"That's wonderful, sweetheart," May said, hugging the girl tightly.

Rachel smiled. It seemed like, despite her only living family being her sister, everything would be okay. Maybe she and Peter would even get married one day.

She knew, she, Pepper, Morgan, Peter, and May would all live happily ever after.

They had to. Without a doubt, they had to.

For Tony.

In his honor.
