Third POV

 At the temple

There were various kinds of shloka recitation and dan's (donation) of different kinds. Before giving them a pot of milk to immense on the Shivling.

The four brother's: Sehdev, Nakul, Bheema and Yudhishthira stood up for it.

"Putra? Tum dono bhi toh-" (Son? You both should-) Rani Kunti begins but Karn cuts her off.

"Nahi Mata. Hum dono kauteya toh Ho saktein Hain par, Pandeva woh panch hi Hain. Yeh Puja woh panch hi karenge. Hum aapke saath yahan par baithe zarror Hain." (No mother. We both can be Kaunteya but Pandeva's are those five only. This puja can be done by those five only. We are seated with you here of course.) He declares.

"Par-" (But-)

"Sahi toh keh rahein Hain Jyeshta, Mata. Hum yahan par Hain na, puja Pandeva ko karne dein." (Jyeshta is saying the truth, mother. We are here, right? Let the Pandeva's do the Puja.) Duryodhana says in between this time.

"Ab meri baat tum sunoge toh nahi. Karo jaisa karna hai." (Now, you would not listen to me. So, do as you want to.) Rani Kunti sighs.
Smiling slightly, Ananya places a hand on her mother- in- laws shoulder, reassuringly.

"Chalo koi toh hai, jo Mujhe samjhta hai." (At least there is someone who understands me.) Rani Kunti smiles at her daughter.

"Main aapne Pati ke saath Hun Mumma. Bas aapko nazariya bhi samjhti Hun." (I am with my husband, Mumma. Just I understand your view of point too) Ananya smiles apologetically.
As the brother's chuckle.

"Hum puja karein?" (Should we start the Puja?) Yudhishthira questions.

"Par Arjun?" (But Arjun?)

"Aap chinta mat kariye Mata, woh humare saath jald hi hoga." (Do not worry , mother. He will join us very soon.)

"Jaisi tum sab ki iccha." (However, you all wish.) Rani Kunti sighs.

The four brothers and Rani Kunti prepare for the milk pot to be poured at the Shivling. And as the first drop of milk was about to drop from the pot, Arjun's hand touched the pot. Smiling the brothers continue with the puja.

"Pandu Putroan ki Jai! Maharaj Pandu ki Jai!" (All Hail the sons of Pandu! All Hail King Pandu!) the citizens yelled as the brothers moved to pay respect to the statue of Maharaj Pandu.

Suddenly a messenger from Hastinapur come to them with a large bag.

"Yuvraj Yudhishthira! Yeh tohfa Maha Mantri ne aap sab ke liye bheja hai." (To- be- king Yudhishthira! This gift has been sent by Maha Mantri for all of you.) The messenger says.

"Kya hai iss Mein?" (What is there in it.) Yudhishthira questions.

"Chawal hai Yuvraj." (It is rice, to- be- king.) The solider answers.

"Srif chawal Kyun bheja? Ghee aur chini bhi toh bhejna tha na. Kitni acchhi kheer ban jaati." (Why only rice? They should have sent Ghee and sugar too. We could have made wonderful Kheer.) Bheema says.

Suddenly something moved in the rice bag, Karn pointed it out and Arjun opened it to see what it was. It was just a mouse.
They all smiled in relief. They had been worried out of no point. The mouse seemed a little over- whelmed of being there. And instantly Nakul picked the small animal up and started to stroke it.

"Ha! Bhrata Bheema ki kheer bane se pehele hi ashudh Ho gayi." (Ha! Brother Bheema's kheer is un- pure before it was made.) Sehdev comments.

"Aise pyaare prani kisi chij ko ashudh nahi kar sakte, Seh. Chijon ko ashudh toh srif hum kar saktien Hain. Srif manushya." (Small animals like these do not make things un- pure, Seh. Only we can make things un- pure. Only humans.) Nakul elaborates.

"Par kaka shree ne chuha Kyun bheja, uphar Mein?" (But why did uncle send mouse in present?) Arjun questions.

"Mujhe nahi lagta wo bhejna chahhte the." (I do not think he meant to send it.) Bheema speaks up.
"Woh galti se aa, Gaya Ho." (It must have come by mistake.)

"Mujhe toh lagta hai, kyunki yahan chawal nahi milta, is liye Kaka shree ne bheja." (I think, because rice is not available here, that is why uncle sent this to us.) Duryodhana pitches in.

They hum not very convinced of the point.

"Koi Sandesh bhi hai Kya?" (is there a message too?) Karn asks.

"Unhone kaha ki chawal ka ek dana agar sameen pe gire toh aage hazaroan Mein milta hai." (He said that, 'even if one drop of rice falls on the ground, then in future you are returned with thousands.) Solider says.

-- Time Skip --

The evening to the Puja, the young adults all were in one room. Nakul was admiring himself in many mirrors, while petting the mouse. Yudhishthira and Arjun were discussing about  something. The rest four brothers were playing Chausar. Ananya was sitting there reading one of the many books Sehdev had.
Raj- Mata Kunti had excused herself to rest for a while before dinner.

Ananya wanted to so badly stomp on the Chausar board (like a grumpy child) , that was being played by Sehdev, Bheema, Duryodhana and her husband Karn.
She was repulsed as to how that blasted thing would lead to the brothers' downfall. Though, she was not very sure if that will happen this time or not. After all, they did have Duryodhana on their side.

She sighed snapping the book shut. Loudly.

"Bhabhi Ma?" Duryodhana frowned.

"Kuch nahi Hua, Suyo. Bas kuch soch rahi thi." (Nothing happened, Suyo. I was just thinking something.) Ananya lied, leaning back in the chair and resting her head on the top, while she closed her eyes.

Karn frowned, there was something she was hiding but what was it?
What had her worried but she was not ready to share?
Did she know something from future?
But won't the future be affected by her coming here?

"Kya soch Rahe Ho, Yudi Bhrata?" (What are you thinking about, Yudi Brother?) Arjun asks, seeing how lost his brother seemed.

"Kaka shree ne yeh chuha Kyun bheja?" (Why did uncle send us a mouse?) Yudhishthira questions.

"Woh Nikks ko keh rahein Hain ki, chahe chuha kitni bhi der shish eke samne Kyun na khade Rahe woh chuha hi lagta hai." (He was telling Nikks, however much the mouse admires himself in the mirror, it remains a mouse.) Bheema laughs, high- fying with Duryodhana as the others chuckled.

"Tum aapne aapko dekh kar thakte nahi, Nikks? Hamesha shish eke pass rehte Ho?" (Don't you get tired of looking at yourself, Nikks? You always gaze at a mirror.) Duryodhana questions.  Bheema laughs the loudest.

"Is Mein thakne ki baat Kya hai?" (What is there to get tired off?) Nakul frowns.

"Are aapna chehra dekh kar." (From seeing your face.) Bheema pitches in.

"Aap bhi toh khud ko dekhto Ho, jab aapke pas samey hota hai." (You also see yourself in mirror, when you have time. ) Nakul continues with stroking the mouse.

"Main aapne hath ko dekhta Hun." (I look at my hand muscles) Bheema raises his hand showing his muscles.

"Haan, toh jiske pas jo hota hai woh wahi dekhta hai na." (Yes, people only see what they have.) Nakul says as Bheema lowers his hand.

"Ub app ka chehra toh dekhne layak hai nahi." (Now, your face is not one to look at, so...) Nakul says as everyone laughs and Ananya snorts loudly.

"Aap Kya kehto Ho Bhabhi Ma? Kis ka chehra hai dekhne layak?" (What do you say, Bhabhi Ma? Whose face is the one to look at, huh?) Bheema questions his sister- in- law.

"Chehra toh srif ek ka hi dekhne layak." (There is only one face meant to look at.) Ananya drawls slowly as she sits up in the chair.

"Jyeshta ka?" (Elder Brother's ?) Sehdev guesses.

"Nah!" Ananya waves it off. "Aru ka, Sehdev." (Aru's, Sehdev.)

"Kya!?" (What!?) Karn questions.

"Haan." (Yes.) She smiles evilly. And the brothers shudder inwardly.
"Jab woh ladki ke tarah taiyar tha." (When he got ready as a girl.)

"Ladki ke tarah matlab?" (Like a lady, meaning?) Duryodhana questions perking up.

"Kya Aru? Tumne inhe baataya nahi." (Why Aru? Did you not tell them?)

"Bha... Bhabhi.... Bhabhi Ma?" He shutters.

He did not tell his brothers about how he dressed up as girl.
What? It is a little mortifying, ok?
Especially when the brothers are devil like them.

"Anu?" Karn asks.

"Aru?" Yudhishthira questions at the same time.

********

How was the update for the day?

The Puja is done.
The mouse is here.

I am super excited. Are you?

Ah! The love between the brothers. So sweet.

The kids are having fun.

But what about Karn and Ananya?
Is there relationship stable? Or are they trading on thin ice?

Arjun did not tell his brother about Madhav's antics yet.
But how will he escape telling now?
